“Isabella, how dare you treat me like this?” Asher seethed, rubbing his sore hand. “You should be grateful I’m interested in you. Being with me would secure you a life without worry.”

“I’m sorry, but even if I were blind, I wouldn’t be interested in you,” Isabella retorted, her voice icy and unyielding.

Eliza, sensing an opportunity, chimed in with a gentle tone, “Isabella, aren’t you looking for someone to take care of you now? Asher’s family is nearly as influential as the Santos family. You’d find happiness with him eventually. Forget about Dane. He’s completely out of your league.”

Asher, emboldened by Eliza’s words, slammed his glass down and looked at Isabella arrogantly. “If you drink this now, I’ll let your rudeness slide just this once.”

All eyes were on Isabella. Many expected her to comply, believing that crossing Asher would bring trouble.

“Isabella, let’s leave,” Susan urged, tugging at Isabella’s arm.

But Asher wasn’t done. “Susan, this doesn’t concern you. Sit down,” he growled, shoving Susan to the floor.

A flicker of cold rage passed through Isabella’s eyes. Without hesitation, she grabbed a glass of red wine and poured it over Asher’s head.

The room was stunned into silence.

The wine streamed down Asher’s face, soaking his clothes and dripping onto the floor.

The shock lingered as everyone watched in disbelief.

Asher stood frozen for a moment, trying to comprehend what had just happened. When the reality of the situation finally sank in, his expression turned murderous. He reached out to grab Isabella’s hair, and some in the room shut their eyes, fearing what might happen next.

Asher’s family had deep ties to the underworld, making them a formidable force no one dared to cross. Asher himself was infamous for being a walking storm of trouble.

Eliza, shaking her head in disbelief, averted her gaze. She had never imagined that Isabella would be so audacious. But this time, Isabella seemed headed for disaster.

A deafening bang shattered the tense silence, causing everyone in the room to flinch. Even Eliza felt her heart jolt. Could Asher really be this brutal with Isabella, despite his past crush on her?

Compelled by curiosity, Eliza glanced over, only to be left speechless.

Asher had been thrown against the wall like a ragdoll, his body crumpling to the floor. Blood sputtered from his lips as he coughed.

Isabella, petite and seemingly fragile, had hurled Asher against the wall with just one hand! How could someone as small as her be so powerful?

Asher wasn’t just any guy—he was tall, muscular, and weighed over two hundred pounds. Tossing him so effortlessly seemed impossible.

The room was filled with wide-eyed horror, and an air of tension thickened. Isabella’s strength was terrifying!

Asher’s cronies rushed to his side, panic etched on their faces. Slowly coming to his senses, Asher’s eyes betrayed the fear that now crept in, though his ego wouldn’t let him back down in front of his old classmates.

“Isabella, so you know a bit of martial arts,” Asher spat, irritation lacing his voice. “But you may not know—my family is now working with the Klein family. The Klein family! Do you even know who they are?”

The name Klein sent a ripple through the room.

The Klein family was practically royalty in Ansport, their influence and power legendary. Any association with the Kleins meant immense power.

Eliza’s heart skipped a beat. “Isabella, you should apologize to Asher. We’re all friends here—you can’t treat him like this!”

Teresa, unable to hide her glee, added, “Isabella, you’re done for. Do you really think you can mess with Asher and get away with it? The Cruz family won’t let this slide.”

“The Klein family, you say?” Isabella’s voice was calm, almost amused.

Asher mistook her reaction for fear and his confidence swelled. “That’s right! Andrew Klein and my father are practically best friends.”

Isabella blinked in surprise. Andrew and Asher’s father? Best friends?

Before she could respond, she noticed the shocked expressions of those around her. Andrew was a legend, and slowly, they turned their pity-filled gazes toward her, convinced she had made a fatal mistake.

“Who would’ve thought the Cruz family had such connections? She’s really done for now,” someone whispered.

Asher sneered, his arrogance returning. “Scared now, Isabella? Don’t worry, if you kneel, beg for forgiveness, and stay with me from now on, I might let this slide.”

Isabella’s laughter cut through the tension like a knife. “Oh, I’m absolutely terrified,” she mocked.

Asher’s temper flared again. “How dare you speak to me like that?”

He had spent years earning his reputation in the underworld, where fear ruled, and respect was earned. Who did Isabella think she was?

Susan, clutching Isabella’s hand, pleaded, “Isabella, let’s leave, now!”

But Asher’s predatory gaze shifted to Susan. If he couldn’t break Isabella, he could take out his anger on Susan. With a cruel smirk, he kicked Susan, sending her crashing into the wall.

Isabella’s eyes blazed with fury. Asher barely had time to react before Isabella raised her leg.

A heartbeat later, Asher’s world exploded in pain. A howl of agony escaped his lips before he passed out.

When Asher finally regained consciousness, he found himself lying in a hospital bed.

Asher’s mother, Yadira Cruz, was hunched over his hospital bed, her face streaked with tears. Despite the throbbing pain coursing through his body, Asher wasn’t too alarmed. After all, he had been in countless fights before.

“Mom, what’s going on?” he rasped, his voice hoarse. “Why are you crying like that?”

Yadira struggled to speak, her sobs choking off her words.

“Mom, stop crying. This isn’t the first time I’ve ended up in the hospital.”

Finally, Yadira managed to speak, her voice trembling with sorrow. “Asher… you…”

Asher’s brow furrowed, a knot of unease twisting in his gut. What could be so bad that it had reduced his usually composed mother to this?

“Just spit it out, Mom. I’ve been fighting my whole life. What’s there to worry about?”

Yadira took a shuddering breath, her next words cutting through the air like a death sentence. “Your… your genitals… they’re destroyed. The doctor said you’ll never be able to… to be a man again.”

Her wail pierced the room, filled with anguish. “Asher, who did this to you? I swear, I’ll hunt them down and make them pay!”

Asher, her only child, was the last hope for the Cruz family line. Now that hope had been shattered.

Asher’s world tilted. His mind struggled to grasp the enormity of her words. His heart pounded as he realized the severity of his injuries. That bitch, Isabella… she had kicked him so hard that he was now impotent—forever!

“Ah!” Asher screamed, clutching his head. “It’s Isabella, Mom. Isabella! She’s such a bitch! How could she do this to me!”

“Don’t worry, Asher. I’ll make sure we get justice,” Yadira replied, her voice filled with cold determination.

At the high school reunion, after Asher had fainted and been rushed to the hospital, the shocked eyes of the attendees followed Isabella as she helped Susan, who was clutching her back in pain. After ensuring there was nothing serious, Isabella decided to take Susan to the hospital for a thorough checkup.

Just as they were about to leave, Eliza blocked their path.

“Isabella, you should apologize to Asher. He’s the Cruz family’s only heir, and they won’t just let this slide,” Eliza said sternly.

Isabella smiled coolly. “Isn’t this what you hoped for, Eliza? You invited me here just to stir up trouble, didn’t you?”

Eliza’s face twisted in indignation. “Isabella, how can you say that? I just wanted us all to reconnect. It’s been so long.”

“Eliza, don’t waste your breath on her,” Gilbert sneered, his disdain obvious. “Isabella’s lost it. Ever since your family disowned her, she’s been vain and vindictive. Keep your distance from her.”

Eliza seemed torn but didn’t argue further.

Teresa chimed in, “Eliza, let her be. If Isabella wants to self-destruct, that’s her problem. She’s delusional if she thinks she can charm Dane. Gilbert never liked her; what makes her think Dane will?”

Gilbert glanced at Teresa, something about her tone unsettling him.

Eliza turned back to Isabella with a helpless expression. “Isabella, let me give you some advice. Stop depending on men. You leaned on Gilbert too much, and when that ended, you latched onto another. You need to stand on your own.”

“Exactly. Relying on your looks won’t last forever,” Teresa added.

Some in the crowd nodded in agreement, while others seemed skeptical.
