Talia felt a wave of frustration. “Is this how you treat customers?”

“Fine, I’ll help you,” the saleswoman responded dismissively, just as a new customer entered the store. Immediately, her attitude changed, and she greeted the newcomer with a bright smile, abandoning Talia without a second thought.

Fuming, Talia left the store without buying anything. Once outside, she vented her frustration in the chat group. “Miggie Skincare’s customer service is awful! They only care about wealthy customers.”

Her message sparked immediate outrage.

“Are you serious? That’s terrible!”

“Okay, I’m definitely not buying from Miggie Skincare.”

Meanwhile, back at Natural Beauty, Susan and Brenda were stepping out of the store when they saw Michelle and her group approaching.

“Well, well, Brenda Peck, playing salesperson now?” Michelle sneered. “Has Natural Beauty fallen so low that you have to sell the products yourself?”

Brenda remained calm. “We know the products better than anyone, so we’re helping the customers understand them. Is there something wrong with that?”

Michelle’s grin widened. “It just sounds like Natural Beauty can’t afford to hire proper salespeople. At Miggie Skincare, we don’t have that problem. Plus, our pay is much better. Oh, and by the way, our sales today reached thirty million dollars.”

Mina, standing beside Michelle, looked smug. Leaving Natural Beauty had turned out to be a blessing for her. “You should consider switching companies, Brenda. If you ask nicely, I might even get you a recommendation at Miggie Skincare.”

Brenda didn’t flinch. “No thanks, I’m not interested.”

“Suit yourself. But I heard Natural Beauty’s sales only hit a few million today. How pathetic! Can your company even afford to pay you?” Michelle said with a smirk, her group laughing behind her.

Brenda simply smiled. “We’ll see about that.”

Susan’s icy gaze met Michelle’s mocking grin. “Laugh all you want. Natural Beauty prioritizes quality over everything else. We’ll outperform your products eventually.”

“Really? Ha! We’ll see about that,” Michelle and her group continued their mocking laughter.

Brenda, unwilling to engage further, led her group away. As they reached the roadside, a sleek car pulled up beside them, and the window rolled down to reveal Isabella’s smiling face.

“Thanks for your hard work today. Dinner’s on me,” Isabella said warmly.

Everyone exchanged surprised glances, not expecting such an offer.

When they got into the car, they noticed a man already seated inside. His good looks and distinct presence made everyone immediately nervous.

Sensing the tension, Isabella smiled, trying to ease the atmosphere. “Relax.”

Then, to everyone’s surprise, the man spoke up. “Hello, I’m Miss Patton’s assistant,” Andrew introduced himself.

The group exchanged skeptical looks. Was he really just an assistant? His presence and appearance seemed to suggest otherwise. Some of them started speculating silently—maybe Isabella was living a lavish lifestyle, perhaps even keeping a “pretty boy.”

Isabella, noticing their strange expressions, sighed internally. It was fine that they were relaxed, but why were their thoughts drifting in that direction?

Soon, they arrived at the New Moon Restaurant, a renowned and luxurious establishment.

“Miss Patton, are we really dining here?” one of them asked in awe.

“Yes, any problems?”

“The average cost here is 1000 dollars per person,” one employee whispered, clearly astonished.

Isabella chuckled. “Dinner’s on me, don’t worry.”

“Wow, Miss Patton is awesome!” someone cheered, and the mood quickly turned festive as they stepped into the lavishly decorated restaurant.

Meanwhile, in another section of the mall, Michelle and her group had entered a different restaurant. “You’re so generous treating us here, Ms. Frey,” one of her colleagues remarked.

“Of course, we’re with Miggie Skincare now, not Natural Beauty,” Michelle replied smugly.

As Michelle settled into her seat, she couldn’t resist sending a photo to Brenda, flaunting her evening.

Back in the New Moon Restaurant, Brenda received the message but chose not to respond. She wasn’t interested in Michelle’s petty taunting. Instead, she focused on enjoying the dinner with her colleagues.

As they began digging into a feast of lobster and other delicacies, Susan couldn’t help but express her gratitude. “Thank you, Miss Patton. This is incredible.”

Isabella smiled. “You’re welcome. Enjoy.”

At that moment, Andrew carefully peeled a shrimp and offered it to Isabella. She hesitated for a second, feeling the gesture was overly intimate, but Andrew’s earnest expression softened her.

The other employees exchanged knowing glances and smiles, watching the scene unfold. Isabella, feeling slightly embarrassed by their reactions, focused on her meal, while Andrew seemed unfazed by the attention.

Later, Isabella excused herself to the restroom. When she returned, she found Andrew waiting outside.

“Why are you out here?” she asked, surprised.

“I didn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable by staying inside,” Andrew explained calmly.

Isabella sighed. “Maybe you shouldn’t accompany me next time.”

Andrew’s gaze lingered on her, as if he understood something deeper than she was willing to admit.

Isabella suddenly felt guilty, worried that she might have been too harsh. “Alright, let’s head back in,” she said, softening her tone.

As they approached the door, they overheard the employees inside laughing and chatting.

“I think Miss Patton is really living the high life. Did you see that handsome man with her? He’s not just her assistant, is he?” one of them remarked.

“He could easily be a celebrity. They definitely make a good pair,” another chimed in.

Isabella’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she heard the conversation.

Andrew chuckled softly. “If we don’t go in soon, they might come up with even wilder stories.”

Isabella took a deep breath. “Let them talk. We’ll wait out here a bit longer.”

They lingered in the hallway, enjoying the cool evening breeze from the restaurant’s air conditioning. As Isabella leaned against the railing, feeling a slight chill, she suddenly felt the warmth of Andrew’s coat draped over her shoulders. His familiar cologne filled the air, and she glanced up at him.

Andrew’s eyes were deep and captivating, holding her gaze for a moment longer than she was comfortable with. She quickly averted her eyes, the silence growing heavier between them.

In an attempt to break the tension, Isabella blurted out, “My friend thinks you’re so kind to me because you have feelings for me.”

The moment she said it, she realized how blunt it sounded. Quickly, she added, “But of course, I know you’re kind to me because of Waylon.”

Andrew’s response was immediate and firm. “No.”

Isabella froze, her eyes wide as Andrew’s firm “no” echoed in her mind. For a moment, she was speechless, overwhelmed by the weight of his words. She had been trying to keep things casual, to brush aside the possibility of any deeper feelings between them, but his reaction made it clear that there was more beneath the surface.

The hallway around them seemed to close in as an awkward silence lingered. The familiar scent of Andrew’s cologne mixed with the air-conditioning, stirring emotions in Isabella she hadn’t fully confronted before. His intense gaze, his silent gestures, and the warmth of his touch—all of it painted a picture she had been hesitant to see.

Just as the atmosphere grew too heavy, voices from the dining room drifted toward them, breaking the tension. Isabella and Andrew walked back inside, but the mood between them had irrevocably shifted. Every glance from her employees felt loaded with curiosity, and Isabella couldn’t help but feel like their relationship was under a microscope. She focused on her meal, trying to stay composed.

Once dinner was over, Isabella insisted her employees take taxis home, reassuring them that the company would cover the expenses. Brenda, still in awe of Isabella’s generosity, couldn’t help but share her gratitude online, posting about her wonderful boss.

As they stepped outside, the familiar figures of Michelle and her group caught their eye. The rival group, laughing amongst themselves, didn’t notice them at first. When they did, their smugness faded into disbelief.

“Were they dining at New Moon Restaurant?” one of Michelle’s friends whispered.

Michelle rolled her eyes, dismissing the possibility. “No way. Isabella would never treat her staff to such an expensive place. Brenda’s just posting fake photos to make herself look good.”

Her words filled the group with doubt, but a few glances at Brenda’s social media post showed the truth: they really had dined at the luxurious New Moon Restaurant. The idea that Brenda and her team could have had a more lavish experience than them left Michelle bitter.

Meanwhile, back at the Patton family home, the tension was palpable. As soon as Isabella walked in, Kristine’s eyes locked on her.

“Who just dropped you off?” Kristine asked, her voice tinged with suspicion.
