As Dane left, Kristine felt a surge of unease. Why did it feel like he was warning her? She hadn’t done anything to wrong Isabella, had she? Yet, Dane’s words made her feel as though she had crossed some invisible line.

Her phone rang, snapping her out of her thoughts. It was Josie.

“Kristine, you won’t believe it! I’ve been planning my product launch, and I want you to come,” Josie said excitedly, though she quickly sensed something was amiss. “What’s wrong, Kristine?”

With a heavy heart, Kristine relayed her conversation with Dane, the growing tension she felt toward Isabella becoming too much to bear.

Josie’s voice was filled with anger. “It’s clear that Isabella is manipulating everyone around her, especially Dane. She’s trying to turn him against you, Kristine! That girl is cunning, and you, being so kind-hearted, just can’t compete with her scheming ways.”

Kristine, overwhelmed with emotion, broke down in tears. “I just want peace in my family. Why can’t she leave things as they are? Do I really have to leave the Patton family?”

“No, Kristine, don’t even think about that! The Patton family needs you—you’re their shining star. You’re the talented one, the vice president of the company, and the acclaimed dancer. What would they do without you? As for Isabella, she’s nothing more than an interloper. Come to my launch. We’ll make sure she knows her place.”

Kristine hesitated but eventually agreed. “Okay, I’ll come.”

Meanwhile, the garden at the Patton mansion was peaceful, the soft lights casting a warm glow along the paths. As Isabella walked alongside Elaine, she noticed a familiar figure approaching.

Dane had appeared, his steps quiet but steady. He smiled at her, his tone playful. “I didn’t think you’d notice me.”

“You startled me!” Elaine exclaimed, playfully swatting at Dane. “Shouldn’t you be busy with work?”

Dane chuckled. “I just wanted to join you for a walk.”

As they continued strolling, Isabella suddenly asked, “So, when is Howard coming back?”

Isabella’s question hung in the air, and a wave of unease swept over the garden. Dane and Elaine exchanged a glance, both hesitant to answer. Elaine reached out, gently taking Isabella’s hand, her expression softening with a hint of sadness.

“Howard’s health isn’t great right now,” Elaine said softly. “We’re not sure when he’ll be able to come home.”

Isabella felt a pang of guilt for asking, immediately sensing the weight of the situation. “I hope he recovers soon,” she said sincerely, quickly changing the subject. “What about Waylon?”

Dane’s expression shifted, a flash of jealousy creeping into his tone. “Why? Do you need something from him?”

Isabella blushed slightly, caught off guard. “No, not really.” She wasn’t about to admit she wanted Waylon to accompany her to Andrew’s house to enjoy some good food.

Elaine, sensing the tension, explained, “Waylon’s on set for a few months. He’s been gone for over a month already, so he should be back in a few days.”

“That’s good to know,” Isabella replied, nodding thoughtfully. A few more days felt manageable, but she couldn’t shake the sense that Dane’s reaction had been more intense than expected.

The following morning, something unusual happened—Dane joined the family for breakfast, which was rare given his busy schedule. He even offered to drive Isabella to work.

“Isabella, I transferred a million to your account this morning,” Dane said casually over breakfast, smiling warmly. “Use it for whatever you need, and if you need more, just let me know.”

Isabella blinked, momentarily caught off guard. “Dane, I don’t need that,” she replied, wondering if this was how her family expressed affection—through lavish gifts.

Dane waved off her protest. “What’s mine is yours. Don’t hesitate to use it.”

Isabella decided not to argue further, sensing Dane’s determination. She simply nodded.

As they drove to the office, Dane inquired about the upcoming product launch. “Is everything ready for the big day?”

“Yes, we’re all set,” Isabella replied confidently, her thoughts drifting to the final preparations.

That evening, the production was completed smoothly, and everyone at Natural Beauty had a chance to try the new products. The excitement was palpable, and it gave the team a much-needed boost of confidence.

Later, Brenda approached Isabella with some unexpected news. “Miss Patton, I came across a post from Mina. She and Michelle have both joined Miggie Skincare.”

Isabella paused briefly. “Is that so?” she asked calmly.

“Yes, Miggie Skincare has been our top competitor lately, and it feels wrong for them to leave our company for a rival,” Brenda said, clearly concerned.

Isabella remained composed. “Their decisions are their own. We’ll focus on ourselves.”

“But they’re launching a new product at the same time as us! What if they overshadow us?” Brenda pressed.

“Then they’re simply out of luck,” Isabella responded with a confident smile, putting Brenda’s worries to rest. The team admired her self-assuredness, and it motivated them to work even harder.

As the day of the product launch approached, the atmosphere was electric. Prus Mall, a premier location for skincare brands, was the stage for both Natural Beauty and Miggie Skincare’s simultaneous launches. The mall was packed with customers and onlookers, eager to witness the head-to-head competition.

Miggie Skincare had pulled out all the stops, even bringing in celebrities to boost their appeal. The crowd at their booth was impressive, and whispers filled the air.

“Natural Beauty is really daring to go up against Miggie Skincare. Isn’t that a bit reckless?”

“Miggie Skincare’s got celebrities and a massive following. Natural Beauty can’t compete with that!”

Susan was busy assisting customers at Natural Beauty’s booth, helping them sample the products and explaining their benefits. One girl, in particular, seemed hesitant, looking around nervously.

“Can I help you with anything?” Susan asked kindly.

The girl glanced at her, her expression guarded. “I’m just looking. I probably can’t afford anything here,” she muttered, her eyes shifting away.

“That’s alright! Feel free to try our products anyway. You don’t need to buy anything today. It’s always nice to experience quality skincare, right?” Susan smiled warmly, offering her a sample.

The girl hesitated, then took the sample, her tough exterior slowly melting. “Really? I can try it?”

“Absolutely!” Susan responded, gently applying the product while explaining its benefits.

As the girl looked up, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She had come to the mall with the intention of mocking Natural Beauty, hoping to see their failure. But Susan’s genuine kindness had disarmed her completely, and now, she felt guilty for her earlier thoughts.

The day wasn’t over yet, but it was clear that Natural Beauty was making an impact, one customer at a time.

“Thank you,” Talia Moreno muttered, slightly overwhelmed as she accepted the small, elegant bag from Susan.

“You’re welcome,” Susan replied warmly, her friendly demeanor unwavering.

With a mysterious air, Susan handed Talia the bag. “These are some samples. We haven’t promoted them to the public yet. Feel free to try them out.”

Talia’s expression hardened, suspicion creeping into her voice. “How much are they?” she asked coldly.

For a moment, Talia had thought Susan was genuinely being kind. Now, it seemed like another sales tactic.

Susan smiled reassuringly. “It’s on the house. You can use them, and if you have any feedback, we’d love to hear it.”

Taken aback by the generosity, Talia muttered a quick thank you and left the store, her thoughts swirling. Once outside, she checked her phone and found several new messages in her chat group.

The group, consisting of fans who supported a celebrity harmed by a Natural Beauty product, had become a hub for hate against the brand. Talia, their leader, had stirred the pot, urging them to boycott Natural Beauty.

“Talia, how did it go? Are the salespeople at Natural Beauty terrible? They must be frustrated now that they can’t compete with Miggie Skincare!”

“I bet they don’t even bother promoting their products properly anymore. Natural Beauty is going downhill fast.”

Reading the messages made Talia feel uneasy. The experience at Natural Beauty hadn’t been what she expected.

She hesitated before typing, “Actually, the customer service at Natural Beauty is really good. The salespeople were polite and helpful. Maybe the issue isn’t with them but with the products.”

There was a brief pause in the chat before one of the members responded, “Really? I guess good customer service helps their sales. But it’s still just a job for them, right? You should visit Miggie Skincare and compare the two.”

Talia considered the suggestion, then made her way to Miggie Skincare’s store.

When she arrived, the store was bustling with activity. It took her a while to get inside, and the atmosphere was noticeably different—more upscale, but less welcoming. The staff seemed to focus solely on well-dressed customers.

After a long wait, Talia finally caught the attention of a saleswoman. “Can I try your products?” Talia asked politely.

The saleswoman glanced at Talia, her gaze lingering on her modest attire. “The products are over there. Help yourself,” she said indifferently.

Talia frowned. “Isn’t it your job to help customers try the products? How will I know how to use them properly?”

The saleswoman sighed impatiently. “The instructions are right next to them. You can read, can’t you?”
