Bryan nodded his head after hearing his younger brother. He turned his head to look at Sophia.

She looked at him and asked,

“Yes?” She thought he wanted something.

“I want to talk to him alone. Excuse us.”

“S-Sure.”

Having the realization that she ought to have said that before him, Sophia hurriedly made her way to the door. But she stopped when she heard Bryan once again.

“Take your breakfast set with you.”

As she turned her attention to the desk, she noticed that the name of her box was also present there. She was confused about who sent it because she had only told the staff about Bryan’s breakfast.

She gazed at Bryan, who was still looking at her. She could not help but feel that he cared for her. He was the one who asked for her breakfast, since he knew she was hungry too.

“Thanks for the breakfast, Alpha.”

Sophia grabbed the box from the desk and turned to leave.

“What happened to your hand?” Bruce asked, getting on his feet as he grabbed her hand.

She tried to pull her hand away from his grip. “Nothing.”

“How did your finger burn? Who hurt you?” Bruce asked. Anger could be heard in his tone of voice.

“I’m totally fine. It’s just a little wound,” Sophia replied, trying to free her hand from him. As a result of the hot liquor, the skin on her finger was swollen, and she could see that it was turning red.

While trying to move away from Bruce, her eyes landed on Bryan. His eyes were on her hand, which was gripped by Bruce.

“Let me treat your fing…”

“Leave her hand. She is not a child,” Bryan spoke up.

Bruce halted his movements and twisted his neck to look at him. “But bro…”

“Leave her hand,” Bryan said once again calmly. However, his dark voice was enough to make Bruce let go of Sophia’s hand.

As soon as he released her hand, Sophia left the cabin to not create any arguments in the room.

Bruce turned his head away from the door, which Sophia had just closed after leaving. He sighed and turned to Bryan, who was glaring at him.

“Brother, I was ju…”

“Sit down.”

Bruce immediately followed his order and sat on the chair again.

Bryan reached his hand to the coffee that Sophia had made for him and took a gulp. He then turned his attention to Bruce and asked,

“What do you want?”

Bruce tightened his fists as he replied to what was on his mind.

“Sophia.”

Just the moment he let out Sophai’s name, Bryan’s eyes turned red. Bruce lowered his head to avoid his eyes.

“Brother, I can’t stay away from her. I swear, I have tried, but I couldn’t.”

Bryan stood up from his chair and lit a cigarette. He walked to the window and looked outside.

“What will you take to leave her side?” he muttered under his breath.

Bruce raised his head. He stood up as well, but he did not have the courage to walk over to him.

“I don’t want anything, brother. I only want her.”

“She can’t be yours,” Bryan replied after taking a puff on the smoke.

Bruce stared at him for a while. Bryan turned to him and said,

“You are done getting your answer; you can leave now.”

Bruce looked into his eyes as he could see how dangerous his big brother was.

“I bet you have never shown her this side of yourself. She is so naive to understand Alpha Bryan.”

Bruce’s words made Bryan grimace at him.

“She is my mate. I will handle her by myself. You don’t have to worry about her anymore.”

Bruce heaved a sigh and shook his head.

“Brother, she is too young to deal with everything. Don’t make her a pawn of your game.”

Sophia was waiting outside Bryan’s cabin as she kept glancing at the door. She did not know what was happening inside, but she was afraid that Bruce would say something wrong about her to Bryan.

At the very moment that the door to the CEO’s cabin opened, Sophia stood tall and straight while leaning her back against the pillar that was located in close proximity to the interior of the cabin.

She took notice of Bruce as he emerged from the cabin. His gaze landed on her as he came to a complete stop in his tracks.

She tried to ignore him and proceeded to enter the cabin by walking past him.

Surprisingly, Bruce did not stop her and left the office.

Sophia glanced at Bryan, who was standing behind the desk. He looked gloomy yet calm.

“Alpha,” she mumbled.

When his eyes met hers, she took a deep breath. This man’s gaze was so penetrating that it seemed as if he might shoot her heart through the eyes.

“I want them to come here for the meeting. Inform them about it.”

He sounded commanding, which indicated that he was mad at something.

“Yes, Alpha.”

Sophia hurriedly dialed a number. She informed the secretary of the other Alpha and told him to come to the Morrison Group directly.

While she was taking a quick check at the lunch box, she observed that it appeared to be untouched.

She wanted to ask him why he had not had his lunch yet. But the room had turned colder. She assumed that the two brothers had possibly had a verbal fight. She wondered who had won the argument.

Sophia left the cabin to set up everything for the meeting. In light of the fact that it was a meeting with a different pack company and not with any of the inner companies of this pack, she had to make a few more arrangements, such as booking hotels for them.

“Everything done?” She asked other employees who were in charge of the conference room.

The employees gave her a nod in agreement. Sophia smiled at them and began to check the files for the projects.

She emailed all the managers about the prepone meeting since the time had changed because of Alpha Bryan’s mood.

Sophia huffed while putting her hand on her waist. She had a glance around to determine whether or not everything was on the right track.

“Perfect.”

She clapped her hands and left the conference room. Then, she made her way back to Bryan’s cabin.

“Alpha, everything is done. Now we are just waiting for Alpha Noble.”

Bryan heard her but did not reply to her. A sigh came out of her mouth as she expressed her dissatisfaction with his unexpected behavior.

“This man is bipolar. I just can’t understand his mood swings,” she murmured while standing close to the desk.

She jerked up when she heard Bryan.

“Did you just say something?”

She looked at him with wide eyes and shook her head immediately.

When his eyes met hers, the room fell into complete silence. She made another attempt to read his gaze, but she was unable to do so. Because of his calculated action and unreadable eyes, he could crack anything in front of him even without touching it with his hands.

She gulped when she found him staring at her. What was going on in his mind?

“Alpha, what hap…”

She was interrupted when the door opened. Beta Robert entered the cabin with Delta Edger.
