“Since my personal secretary cheated on my company, I couldn’t trust her anymore and fired her with papers.”

I knew he was talking about papers for me.

“I need a trusted person who is suited for the position. So I thought about it a lot.”

I quietly listened to him without replying. But his next sentence made me lift my head with a stunned look.

“From today, you will be my personal secretary.”

“I’ll be what?” I asked with wide eyes.

He gave me a bored look as if he did not like my reaction. But not everything would be what he wanted.

“I can’t be your personal secretary,” I told him after taking a long breath.

Being his assistant secretary was enough for me to live in hell. How would I survive if I had to work with him every day?

Personal secretary meant I would have to do a lot of additional work for him, such as making coffee, going everywhere with him to attend meetings, going on international trips, and even I had heard Lily had to accompany him to club parties.

“No, no. I can’t do all those things.” I mumbled under my breath as I shook my head.

“Why are you overreacting?”

Hearing his cold tone, I frowned at him. “Alpha, I can’t accept this position.”

“Why? I want a reason.”

I thought for a moment about a bunch of excuses and started to speak.

“I am not capable of this job.”

“That’s me who will decide it.”

“As you can see, I have to rush from my university to this company. It would be tough for me.”

“Your timetable will be the same; just a few additional work hours won’t harm you.”

“I-I am a part-timer. I can’t do a full-time job.”

“You will get a higher salary.”

“If I say I am okay with what I am getting and I don’t need the higher salary, then?”

“You have no choice.”

I huffed as he continued to beat me with my excuses.

Since I did not have another option, arguing with him about it would not help me anyway.

I sighed and gave him a defeated look.

It was as though he enjoyed the look; he smirked at me.

“If you are done making excuses, start your new job.”

“Yes, Alpha.” I muttered, avoiding his mocking gaze.

“Go to Selena. She will hand over the list of your activities that you will have to do from now on.”

“Okay,” I said and turned to make my way outside.

However, my eyes drew to the window through which my cabin was fully visible. I turned my head to Bryan and said to him,

“Alpha, I’m going to shift to a new cabin, right?”

“Why?”

“What do you mean by why? You changed my position and work, but why do I still need to stay in that cabin?”

“That’s what I wi-“

“I know you are the CEO, but I have some conditions too. I can’t work in that cabin. I feel uncomfortable.”

He was taken aback by my remarks. “Uncomfortable by what?”

“I felt like someone was staring at me all the time. I know you never do that. But it’s kind of a disturbance in my work. I hope you can let me shift into the next cabin.”

Bryan was quiet for some time. When I saw he was not replying to me, I took his answer as yes and left his cabin.

I exhaled deeply after closing the door behind me.

I started to walk and tried to find Miss Selena. When I found her, she waved at me. I walked to her. She handed me some documents, which I guessed were the list of my activities as the CEO’s personal secretary.

I did not go to my cabin; instead, I went to the cabin that Miss Lily used to use.

I started reading the terms and conditions of this position as soon as I sat down on the chair that was located behind the desk.

I was aware that I would be required to attend each and every meeting that Bryan participated in, even his business trips. Nevertheless, what drew my attention was the fact that he might call me at any moment, and I would be obligated to go to him regardless of whether or not it was a work hour.

“I can’t go to assist him in the middle of the night.” I rolled my eyes while looking at the papers.

“What the hell! Why is there so much work? I will have to be with him like his shadow!”

I felt like I was trapped. That man caught me in a job where he could annoy me more.

Suddenly, I remembered how he healed me last night. I bit my bottom lip as it reminded me of the touch of his lips and tongue.

I pressed my hands on my forehead. “He doesn’t care much about it. As I can see, he already forgot about it. So I should ignore it too.”

I put all of my effort into starting my new duties. I turned on the computer and began to set up Bryan’s next schedule.

There were a lot of people who wanted to meet him for business purposes, and I noticed them sending him mail.

Due to the fact that Bryan’s personal secretary had changed, I was required to send them an email, alerting them that they would have to contact me to get in contact with Bryan.

I was so preoccupied with my work that I completely forgot about the time.

I was surprised to learn that our company was in the process of negotiating new alliances with other packs. The thought occurred to me to go to Bryan and inquire about the date on which I could schedule the meetings with the other packs. I stood up while thinking about going to Bryan’s cabin.

As I stepped out of the cabin, I saw other employees walking around. I glanced at the wall clock and realized it was lunch time.

“Hey, Miss Sophia. Let’s eat together,” a young woman said as she approached me.

I could see other employees also wanting to have a good relationship with me since I became the personal secretary of the CEO. I knew their intentions. They used to do the same with Lily. They always tried to connect with her so that she could help them with promotion.

I was not Lily. But to work for a company, I would have to be social.

“Sure,” I replied as she and a few women began to walk to the elevator with me.

When we reached the lobby area, we headed to our company’s cafe.

As I was busy talking with the women, I bumped into someone.

I turned my head and saw Luisa.

“Are you blin-“

She paused when she noticed me. She appeared to be taken aback.

“You! What are you doing here? Who allowed you to enter our company?” she asked with an arrogant tone.

I did not want to tell her the truth. I saw the women were about to speak. But before I could stop them, a familiar voice spoke out from behind me.

“She is Alpha Bryan’s personal secretary. Everyone is bound to let her enter this company.”

I turned around and spotted Delta Edger. He waved at me, and he then moved to stand next to me.

“Hey! What’s up?” he asked me.

I smiled at him in a very slight way. It had been a very long time since I had last seen him.

The other women who were standing close to me appeared stunned as they looked at him.

Meanwhile, Luisa frowned at Edger.

“What nonsense! She and the personal secretary? Alpha Bryan will not even allow her to be his maid; making her personal secretary is something impossible.” Luisa stated it arrogantly and folded her arms.

She looked at me and asked, “Who is he? You lied to him by stating that, didn’t you?”
