Filed To Story: Mated To Big Brother-in-law

“That day at the event, it was not my project. I tried to tell you that day, too. But you didn’t listen to me.”

“So are you saying that someone else has your pictures with Bruce, and they made an effort to help you get you two back together?”

I could understand that no one would believe me. The actions that Luisa took to smear my reputation were truly heinous.

“I don’t want to discuss it again. All I can tell you is that you can ask your brother if I have anything to do with him now. I clearly told him to keep his distance from me.”

He was quiet for some time. I assumed that he would ask me any questions about the night at the club. I wanted to thank him for dropping me off at Sara’s house safely. I felt the need to apologize for the ridiculous things that I had said to him.

Suddenly, he tossed the folder in front of me, which caused me to flinch.

“I don’t think you have any capability to work for the best company in this pack.”

The man in front of me broke my heart totally. The words he spoke made me feel numb inside. The amount of hatred he had for me was so immense that he ignored my skills like they were dust.

How could he say that I did not have any capability?

In fact, the project he chose as the best project at my university was my project.

However, he would never trust me. Just like when I told him that his brother had been cheating on me, he did not believe me.

I looked away from him and got to my feet.

“It was not me who came for an interview myself. Your manager told Professor Wilson to call me here.”

I should have understood his intention before coming here. This man did not call me into his company to give me any jobs. He just wanted to humiliate me for all that had happened on that particular day at the event.

He was quiet, so I did not try to start another conversation either.

I had already felt humiliated enough. The longer I continued to be close to this man, the greater the risk to my life would be.

So I turned around and headed to the door.

Only the feeling of sorrow was going to be something that I would take away from this place.

I reached for the doorknob in an attempt to open the door, but my hand trembled a little as soon as I heard his voice.

“Did I permit you to leave my office?”

I slowly turned my head in his direction.

I found myself captivated by the intense gaze of his dark eyes. They seemed to hold a depth of mystery and intrigue, drawing me in like a moth to a flame.

As our eyes met, a silent connection formed, transcending the boundaries of words. At that moment, I felt a flutter in my heart.

I turned to the door immediately as I tried to ignore the feelings.

My eyes widened, and I reminded myself,

‘No, no. I can’t feel like this.’

Even though I had no intention of doing so, my wolf could not help but feel a growing desire for him.

I came to the conclusion that it would be better for me to leave at this very moment.

As I opened the door, something occurred to me, like a flashback in my mind.

Without looking at him, I said,

“Thanks for that night, Alpha.”

Third POV

As Sophia left the office, her presence continued to linger in Bryan’s mind. The black eyes of his eyes were fixed on the wooden door that was closed.

The entire room was permeated with her scent, which caused him to have a sense of unease. In a fit of anger, Bryan couldn’t help but seethe at the audacity displayed by Sophia’s sudden leaving of his office.

“How dare she!” he muttered under his breath.

His mind raced with a mix of dissatisfaction and outrage, struggling to comprehend the sheer impertinence of her actions.

He glanced at the folder that contained her curriculum vitae that had been attached.

His anger was building up to the point that it was about to boil over as the minutes passed.

It was Sophia who ignited this fire with her stupid words and careless actions.

He remembered the day when he saw her pictures with Bruce at the event at the Night Shade University. He had no idea why, but he did not like that. He believed it was his wolf who reacted like that, not him.

The principal of Night Shade University bowed down to him when he went to his office after the event. When he was on his knees in front of Bryan, the principal pleaded for forgiveness. He even said that he would restrict Sophia from that institution.

During that time, Bryan was the one who strongly opposed him, taking that kind of action against Sophia.

Bryan thought he would let her go. Though she tried to come and tell him fake stories, he chose to ignore her and ended up leaving the university.

However, when he ran into her again at the club on a different day, she pretended to be drunk and tried to make a fool of him by calling him Bruce. She thought he was stupid and would believe in her acting.

Today, what she did was something that had never been done before by anyone else.

It was Bryan’s company; in fact, the whole pack was his. The entire pack was under his control.

Without his permission, no one could enter or leave anywhere. Then how did she leave his office even after he reminded her about it?

Bryan’s train of thought was disrupted when he heard a knock.

“Come in,” he said in a chilly tone for a response.

The man who escorted Sophia to the office room a while ago entered the cabin.

He bowed to Bryan. “Alpha, you have a meeting toda-“

“Cancel it.”

Even though he was taken aback, the man needed to keep his cool. “Okay, Alpha.”

“Why are you here? Where is Lily? Does she have any intention of resigning because she is more engaged with other things than she is with her job?”

The man gulped in fear and replied with a shaken tone,

“I’m sending her inside, Alpha.”

The man bowed to him again and left the office room.

After a few seconds, a stunning young lady entered the office. She was Lily Jain, the personal secretary of the CEO. She handled all the schedules for Bryan Morrison. She joined the company six months ago.

“Alpha, you called me.”

Bryan gave her a stern look. “Where were you?”

“My apologies, Alpha. Earlier, I was preparing coffee for you.”

After responding, Lily walked to the desk.

Bryan’s eyes shifted in her hand; she indeed went to make coffee for him.

She placed the cup of coffee in front of him on the desk and then stood straight.

“Alpha, I heard you interviewed a student. I couldn’t meet her. Should I mention her to the Human Resources and Management department?”

Bryan held the handle of the cup and sipped on his perfect espresso. The caffeine made his mind calm. His mind was immediately brought back to Sophia’s scent as he smelled the dark chocolate flavor in the espresso.

Because the thought made him feel irritated, he put the cup in its place on the desk.

“What happened, Alpha? You didn’t like it?” Lily asked with a curious tone. She believed only she could make the perfect coffee for him.

Bryan paid no attention to her question and instead looked at her.

“Lily, you have a lot of work to do in your role as my secretary. I think it’s time to relieve some of the pressure on your shoulder.”

–

Sophia was feeling really upset. As soon as she walked out of Bryan’s office, she instantly began to have a bitter feeling in her heart.

Everyone’s attention was focused on her. Some of the females were making fun of her because they had come to the conclusion that she would not be able to find a position in their company as an employee.

She left the company as soon as she could. From outside the company, she was able to observe the lives of those who worked there.

How she wished to be someone like them. But Bryan Morrison broke her confidence level today.
