“We must have fallen asleep. Where are we?” Talon looked around the room.
“This is where I’m being held.” Araiya answered from behind the two men.
“Don’t.” Talon turned away. “You don’t get to speak to me, not after you left Shavon like that.” His anger, reared it’s head, at the sound of her voice.
“Left Shavon? She told me to go grab my clothes.”
“We are not talking about this right now.” Mac turned back and kissed Araiya. “We only have a short time together, and we were in the middle of something. Talon, if you don’t want to be here, you can take off outside.”
“Is this real?” Terran walked closer.
“It’s a dream. My soul called out to you because…”
“Because why?” Talon demanded.
“Because I’m dying.” Araiya looked at everyone. Araiya let a tear slide down her face before wiping it away with a knuckle. “I was beaten again today. Only today I was stabbed. This is the last-ditch effort to see my bonded.” Araiya looked up at Mac and River. “This is the last chance I have to be with my mates. I am sorry I called you here too, Talon. I know you are not mine.”
“Not yours?” Talons laugh turned into a choked sob. “I am more yours then you think.”
“You’re dying?” Terran walked over to the trio. “Access Water to heal you fool, don’t be so stubborn, yes, we all made mistakes, but I want the time to get to know you. I need the time to grow with you.”
“I’m sorry,” Araiya whispered as she looked up to at Terran. “I know that you and your mother move slowly, and I wish we had the time to get to know each other. I wish we had the time so that I could tell you everything. I wish I got to hear about your lives, your adventures, your wins and your losses…but we don’t. I can’t access any power, because I am bound in chains that block all access to the Elements. I have nothing, nothing except my soul reaching out to the men who were meant to be my everything.” Araiya let out a sob. “You won’t get to be my everything, but I wanted, needed, this last chance with you all. To see your faces, to get to speak to you.”
She stepped out from both men and closer to Terran. “To touch you one last time.” Araiya held out her hand and Terran slowly raised his hand to hers. He stared down at her and saw how she gulped and then stepped in closer. “To have a chance at a first and last kiss.” She slowly raised herself up towards him. “If you wanted that from me at least,” she whispered and waited for him to make the decision. Terran stared down at her and watched as her hopeful look slowly turned to disappointment, and she started to lower herself down again. Terran watched his mate’s face fall before he scooped her up into his arms and between breathes slammed his mouth to hers.
The moan that came from her lips was delicious to Terran. She tasted of apples and smelt like home. Terran wrapped one hand around a leg and pulled it around him, the other cupped her perfect ass to him. He bit softly into her plump lip and pulled away from her, causing her to give another breathy moan. Her arousal had flooded the area, and all men grew stiff with the fresh gush that dripped visibly from between her legs.
“I can’t watch this.” Talon turned his back on the four and went out of the tent.
Talon shifted into his dragon and took to the sky. The sun was nowhere to be found; the dunes leeched of colour. The moon, the symbol of the mother, hung in the sky as Talon flew to escape his feelings, his thoughts, and most importantly, the yearning he felt inside himself. He flew higher and higher until the air had become as thin as he could stand, and he was as close to the Goddess as he thought he would ever be. There, he allowed himself to release. Release the pain he had been holding in, release the yearning he had for the woman on the ground in the sea of tents, release the loneliness, everything. His dragon roared to the moon, to his lost love.
He pulled in another breath to roar again, when from below in the sea of tents his keen hearing caught the sound of a drawn-out moan from a woman who he should not want. His dragon, the traitor, hung in the air, and when the second moan was heard below, it let out a keening tone. A tone only used for a dragon who needed his mate in his arms, a tone only used when one was missing their lover. Talon’s dragon dove back down to the tent, intent clear in Talon’s mind to get to his mate. But Araiya wasn’t his mate. Shavon was, and she was gone.
He landed with an explosion of sand, and a roar. Talon shifted as quickly as he could wrestle control. He knew without a doubt that he would tear through the tents searching for Araiya. His dragon believed that they belonged together, but he wouldn’t betray his mate like that.
He turned away from the noises he heard from within and headed away. Talon tried to walk away but after a minute of heading away from the tent that Araiya was in, he found himself turning and heading back to the entrance again. He could not find a way to control himself from heading back. He fought tooth and nail to stay away, to get someplace away from the moans that were coming from within. He covered his ears, he ran directly away humming to himself, he even tried dunking his head in the sand, but nothing hid the delicate moans that left her lips. Nothing covered the breathing groans from the others. Finally, he collapsed from the effort of staying away. When all else failed, he decided to sit and pray to the Goddess for guidance
“I can’t watch this.” Talon left the tent, and
Araiya went to go after him even though her skin was on fire.
“Why is he so upset?” Araiya tried to get down from Terran, but he held her to him. Araiya turned back to Terran and lifted a brow.
“While I sympathize for my brother, little moon, I think your focus should be here. Talon is dealing with his own feelings, and chasing after him would hurt him more. Let him come to you.”
“Little moon?”
“Yes. Fitting, I think. Ever since you appeared into my life, I have been pulled by you. You have changed the very course of my life, like the Moon Goddess does for us all. She has guided me to you, and you will guide me home.”
“How can I guide you home? I don’t even know where my own home is.” Araiya looked up at her mate. His long, dark brown hair was pulled back by a piece of leather.
“You guide me home, because you are my home, Little moon. As soon as I saw you, I knew it was true. I know I was a fool, I tried to reason with myself. Earth moves slowly, with purpose, and then you stepped out into that room. As soon as I spotted you, I was lost. Scrambling to control myself, to stop myself from throwing myself at your feet to worship you. We were all foolish, and so much happened that day. I just want you to know, that I realize how stupid I was for not just begging for your mercy, your forgiveness, and your love when you came back to us.”
“Terran…”
“Araiya, I have waited a thousand life times for you. We have all waited for you, and I am so very sorry that we didn’t show you that devotion the moment you stepped into our lives.” Terran leaned in and kissed her softly. “Let us show you now.”
Terran kissed each of her eye lids, and then pulled back and looked at the two others. Araiya looked at each man and saw the hunger that reflected back at her from their eyes. They all looked hungry, starved really. Their gazes blazed down her skin, and her nipples pebbled again from the look. She slowly turned back to Terran and gave one slow, soft nod before she squealed as arms wrapped around her from behind and she was lifted into the air.
She laughed as Mac carried her over to the mound of pillows that River had thrown to the ground. She was breathless with these men, even knowing this wasn’t real, that when she awoke, she would be back in hell, if she awoke at all. Araiya was the happiest she had ever been.
Mac laid her down and then laid next to her, Terran laid on the other side while River kneeled at her feet. “Wait.”
The three men froze. “If this is not what you want lamb, just tell us and we will stop whenever you say so.”
Araiya sat up. “Thank you.” Confusion shone back at her, causing her to laugh once more. “Thank you for this. I know it isn’t really real, and I will be lucky if I awake this time, but I just wanted to say thank you for giving me this.”
