Now, if I ever saw Alexander angry before, then he was furious now.

The man, Alpha Jordan, who stood in front of us, glaring at us, looked at me up and down, and I couldn’t help but feel small under his dark gaze.

Alexander growled, catching almost everyone’s attention, and raising an eyebrow, I could tell that Alpha Jordan was not going to let that slide as easily as we hoped that it would.

“What the f*uck do you think you’re playing, huh?” Alexander asked, glaring at the man, stopping him “I do believe that you came to HER house, and not the other way around”

“If you’re calling the house that she stole from my daughter as her house, sure, we can argue on that” he said coldly, making my eyes widen in surprise. His eyes were fixed on me as he took a step forward, and stepping in front of me, Alexander pushed me to stand behind him, facing the man. My heart raced and I had to fight back the shaking of my hands as I looked at the two men, fearing the outcome of this.

“She did not steal anything from Delilah, and if she is living here, it is because the two of us are lovers and mates…”

“Yes, you are the lover of a b*itch you chose to cheat on me with” Delilah said, making everyone around us mutter between one another as the girls gasped. Delilah’s eyes met mine from behind her father. I took a deep breath and wrapped my arms around myself before walking out from behind my mate to look at the woman whose eyes widened in surprise.

“I am his mate, and you were well aware of that the second you saw the two of us together. You simply had us separating as friends because you were afraid that you would have to go back to live with your father. Nevertheless, Alpha Alexander chose to accept you as a lover, and in turn, you felt the threat of our bond long before it happened” I said, making Delilah’s eyes widen in surprise “did you forget how you entered the pack? Begging for the Alpha’s attention? He gave it to you, and what did you do? You chose to break his family apart simply to ensure your own spot”

“Me not wanting him to have an omega as a friend…”

“No, you did not know that I was an omega at the time. And yet, you chose to want to break us all apart. You started with Luna Katelyn and Alpha Mathew, then moved to Alexander and I. You had your motives planned long before we ‘cheated’ on a no longer existing relationship, and you two sharing a bed or him screwing you does not mean that you are in a relationship…”

“You f*ucking…” I raised my hand to stop her as my mate wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him.

“You told me a few days ago, my mate wanted to kill me to be with you. It seems like he chose me over you and would choose me over you any day” I said, glaring at the woman whose eyes widened in both rage and anger. Alexander wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me to his c*hest as he k*issed my temple “now, you are free to either enjoy the night along with everyone else, or you can get the bloody hell out of our pack’s grounds. I do not believe that a woman who wanted to separate me from my mate should be welcome at my home, but we are people who know our manners, and therefore, I will choose to not kick you out of the house”

Alexander didn’t say a word as he pulled me away from the now fuming wolf. Her eyes were wide in both anger and surprise, but that was the last thing I could care about. At least, for once, I managed to stand up to myself. And my mate not stopping me was something that I would forever be grateful for. Mostly because he knew that she needed someone to set her limits, and seeing as her own father chose to stay quiet, I knew that the man was well aware that I was right in what I was saying. If anything, her coming here was not right to begin with. Therefore, considering that she chose to come to MY house, and chose to try and ruin everyone’s night, putting her in place was in order.

“I believe that we should go and get Anastasia, what do you think?” Alexander said, nodding at his parents who were both looking at us. Luna Katelyn who hasn’t been speaking to me since I found out about her killing my parents nodded as a small smile formed on her l*ips. Her eyes met Alexander’s as we approached, and nodding at me, I nodded back in response, returning the smile.

“Don’t worry, Scarlett. She deserved what she got, and she came here looking for it actually” Alpha Mathew said gently “you stick to your mate’s side for the night. Alpha Jordan could try something funny, or Delilah could end up taking her anger out on Scarlett, and that is the last thing that we want”

“Don’t worry, she can try her best. At this point, I wouldn’t allow her to keep hurting me while staying quiet about it” I said, smiling at my mate. I knew that things were rough, rougher than I ever thought that they would be. But I also knew that I was his future, and not her. If she was a past, then she was to stay in the past. And as long as Alexander was proving to me that he wanted me and not her. It was MY fault for letting a woman like her get in my head. A woman like her should be put in place, and from now on, that was what I would do.

“We came to get Nasia” Alexander said, smiling at his mom who was holding our daughter in her arms. She handed her to my mate, and smiling, he k*issed the crown of her head. She giggled and tried grabbing his ear, wanting to pull it. However, Alexander was faster than she was as he opened his mouth and playfully tried biting her hand as he pretended to eat it. She giggled and instead of pulling her hand away, she tried shoving it in his mouth. I laughed at the sight and stood on my toes to k*iss her cheeks only to be surprised when Alexander connected his l*ips with mine.

The k*iss was gentle as he held our daughter in his arms, and pulling away to look one another in the eye, he smile and nodded at me. His smile was one that showed pride. He was proud of me. And his purring wolf told me that he was more than just a little happy. “I am proud of you, Neonata” he whispered, making my heart skip a beat. And holding Anastasia with one arm, he cupped my cheek with his right hand pulled me closer to him, k*issing me, gently biting my bottom l*ip. I knew that everyone was watching us, and that Delilah in specific, had her eyes on us. We both pulled away to breathe, and smiling at our daughter, I took her hand in mine and smiled when she wrapped it around my index finger. “Thank you” I whispered to him, and he smiled, shaking his head as he ran his thumb over my cheek. I took his hand in mine and gently k*issed his palm, and that was when I heard a low growl. It was one that came from Delilah, one that we all recognized from her long time at the pack. Those who didn’t know her seemed to be surprised, but neither one of them commented or looked at her. “I should be the one thanking you, Neonata” Alexander said softly “you are my blessing, and I want you to keep in your mind that you always will be”

“I love you” I said before I could stop myself. It was the first time I’ve said it since the fight we had. But seeing the woman who stood in front of me right now, I realized that things were not as they used to be. My mate chose me a long time ago, and he was fighting to prove it to me. And whether or not I liked to admit it; the man was gentle toward me in comparison of the other Alphas who treated their mates like hell. Therefore, I was more than thankful for how he treated me.

“I love you too, baby girl” he said, smiling at me “I love you way more, Neonata”
