(Alexander)

I signed the last paper, giving Scarlett her own shares at the company, wanting her to have something that she could call her own. At least, something to support her in case anything happened to me for her not to be left alone.

I knew that it would be something that she would be scared of, but she had to have something that supported her for whatever reason that could happen.

“We just need Mrs. Scarlett’s signature, then her shares would be hers l*egally” my lawyer said and I nodded, taking the papers and putting them inside my bag. The two of us were going to discuss this later today because I knew that we would be having a lot to talk about considering the topic. She wouldn’t understand the importance of it. But I couldn’t get the fact that she had no one and nothing to be by her side if things backfired.

“I will have these papers here tomorrow in the morning” I said and he nodded. I knew that they had to prepare the l*egal documents later, and then we would need to have a meeting that introduced her as my wife and shareholder. Despite us not l*egally being married in human terms, we had partners that were humans who wouldn’t really understand the concept of us being mates. “Yes, boss” he said before walking out of the office. I ran my fingers through my hair before a low growl of annoyance escaped my c*hest as I caught Delilah’s scent. And of course, being who she was, she entered my office without caring whether or not she was invited or wanted here, making me roll my eyes.

“What the f*uck are you doing here?” I asked, standing up to face her. She slammed the door shut before throwing a magazine in front of me, making me raise an eyebrow. “You are showing HER off?” She asked, growling at me. I looked at the picture and smiled. It was one that was taken of us when the two of us were out on a small dinner date. I was holding her hand and k*issing her knuckle while she smiled. The two of us having a normal conversation after the tens of arguments that we usually had on our dates. That one had to be one of the best, and it was the first date we went on after the night we agreed to throw things behind us. “She is my mate, and I do think that I should be showing her off” I said, crossing my arms over my c*hest “but I am curious to know what the f*uck is in it for you to question me about this”

“The f*ucking b*itch is not only an omega, she is also the woman you f*ucking cheated on ME with…”

“She is my mate, and despite knowing that I was f*ucking in love with her, you chose to want to get in my bed. You tried to make me yours, but guess what, she has always been mine and I hers. Not you, and not a thousand other women like you will be able to change that. Why? Because rather than looking for a f*ucking position that I had, she was and still is f*ucking genuine” I said, glaring at Delilah who took a step toward me. “Coming from the man who wanted to take her daughter away from her, send her away, or in other words, possibly kill her, for me to raise the little child up, I am surprised to hear you talking about that” she said, raising an eyebrow. A low growl escaped my c*hest as I warned her, but that wasn’t what had my heart aching or dropping to my c*hest.

My wolf whimpered, and stepping away, Delilah’s smile reach her eyes, a devious smile that made my c*hest ache. My hands shook, and freezing as she opened the door, holding a few paper bags in her hand, Scarlett stared at me with wide eyes, waiting for me, clearly hoping that I would deny what she said; however, I couldn’t.

Delilah was right about what she said, and I couldn’t help but regret ever speaking that way about the woman who was now my mate. Scarlett shook her head as a few tears fell from her eyes before she walked inside and placed the paper bags on top of my desk. She turned to look at Delilah before spitting at the woman, making her eyes widen in surprise.

“I understand now why you brought me here” she said, glaring daggers at Delilah whose eyes were wide in surprise as she tried processing what just happened. My heart raced against my ribcage, and raising her hand to slap my mate, Delilah’s hand was caught midway by Mason who was standing behind her. She growled, and glaring at the woman, I nodded at Mason to walk her out of the office.

The man had to practically drag the now screaming Delilah out of the office before closing the door as Scarlett froze, not saying a word, nor turning to face me. Her heart raced against her c*hest before she took one more breath as she went to walk out the door when she was sure that Mason managed to get Delilah out of the office.

I walked toward her, wanting to stop her, but pulling her hand away, she wouldn’t let me t*ouch her. She didn’t even turn to face me as she looked at me over her shoulder “the invitation cards are on your desk, you can check them out along with the flowers that we chose to put. I will be at the pack working on decorating, and if you are afraid of me taking my daughter and leaving, don’t worry, I am not as cold hearted and I pray that I never reach to that”

“Scarlett…”

“You know, I was willing to accept every single thing you did, Alexander” she said, stopping me “I fell in love with you, and was literally more than willing to give you my world and life if I needed to. But it turns out you wanted to get rid of me anyway”

She took a deep breath and wiped her face, probably wiping her tears that fell from her eyes before walking out of the office. My heart ached, and sitting on the desk, I lowered my head, not knowing what to say about what just happened. Delilah had crossed every limit that could have ever been crossed, and now, I really didn’t know what to do…

“Please put these here, Jade” I heard Scarlett say as I entered the pack’s grounds. My heart raced against my c*hest, and looking at her, my heart dropped. My beauty, my mate, and the woman that I was in love with had her life drained out of her eyes. Her eyes met mine, and she looked back at the decorations that she was working on fixing.

Mason approached me and crossing his arms over his c*hest, he shook his head “I wanted to give you a notice, but Delilah made sure not to allow it, and challenging her, Scarlett didn’t allow me to even pull my phone out”

“How did she even find you?” I asked and Mason shook his head as he sighed.

“I don’t know. But she stopped us as we were leaving the flower store. She came challenging us as if she owned the world, and Scarlett just snapped. She tried defending you, but…”

“She just had me break her heart” I said, my voice dropping “I literally broke her heart for a bloody b*itch who had no morals”

“Delilah never had morals, Alpha” Mason said, and I nodded.

“I know, it’s just a shame that I found out about it a bit too late” I said before walking toward Scarlett who tried taking a step away from me. I wrapped my arms around her from the back, stopping her. “Please let me go, Alexander”

“No, the two of us are going to go inside, and you are going to yell at me, you are going to let that anger out. Then the two of us will talk this out like a couple would” I whispered. She froze before shaking her head.

“Let me go, Alex”

“No” I said, turning her around before lifting her over my shoulder “you take care of things here, ladies”

The girls had to stop themselves from smiling, and judging by the fact that no one was questioning what was going on, I knew that Scarlett didn’t bring anything up, not that she ever did anyway. Mason smirked when he saw me walking toward the house with Scarlett punching my back, trying to get me to put her down. I wasn’t going to do so, but at least, I knew that she wasn’t yelling yet.

I opened the door, and walked inside, closing and locking it, before putting her down. She took a deep breath and tried to walk past me; however, I put my hand in front of her, stopping her.

“Alexander, I do not want to talk to you” she said, and I raised an eyebrow before pulling her toward the living room. She growled in warning, but I chose to stay quiet “What do you want me to say? What is it going to change…?”

“Yell, scream, let out all your anger” I said, stopping her “then we will discuss what it would change”

“I don’t want to, it is not worth it, I was never worth it in your eyes, so why the f*uck does it matter now?” Scarlett asked, making me shake my head.

“Do you really believe that, Scarlett? That you are not worth it?” I asked “that I won’t fight for you…”

“You wanted to kill me”

“Yes, and I bet my life that you wanted to hide Anastasia from me. You were not going to bring her to the pack if I had not found you that day” I said, looking at my mate “and I do not blame you, but what Delilah was talking about was that f*ucking period. I do not expect you to understand that, but I told you, Delilah was toxic to me, and she saw that I was happy with you. She saw my happiness in my eyes, and it was because of you”

“I am a d*ick, an a*ss, you can call me all names. But I know one thing, Scarlett. I was never the way that I am with you toward anyone else. I was never easily jealous, and I never thought that I would find myself breaking inside because my woman wouldn’t look me in the eye” I said, before pulling out the paper that I wanted to initially give her to sign “I know that you might choose to stay because you think that you have nothing to support you and Nasia if you leave…”

“Alexander?”

“These are your shares, Scar” I said, stopping her “they were supposed to be a present for you, but the b*itch ruined that. No worries, if you want to use them to support yourself and Nasia, they’re yours, and you can leave. I will understand that…”

“Why?” She asked, shaking her head in confusion.

“I never want you to think that someone could hold something against you because you believe that you have nothing. I know that it hurts you how you’re feeling, and I know that I broke you in ways that no one could, and I don’t blame you for wanting to leave, but I want you to understand one thing, I never wanted things to reach to this. These shares were for you to simply see yourself as independent, as someone who didn’t need to live depending on someone else cause you had nothing. The decision is yours, Neonata, and I will respect it whatever it is…”
