“Shut the fuck up,” Declan scoffs.

I hear his footsteps stop beside me and feel him looking down at me. When I don’t look up, he reaches for me, using two fingers to tilt my chin toward him. My eyes meet his, and he leans in, kissing me on the lips slowly, deeply. His tongue slips into my mouth where, if he hasn’t already tasted the blood on my lips, he’ll be able to taste it now. I hold my breath until he pulls away.

“Good morning, Teagan,” he says.

“Good morning…”

He says nothing else before continuing up the staircase. Eli follows him, pausing only long enough to spare me a disapproving glance no one else notices—a look that tells me he realizes I won’t be running and thinks I’m stupid for it.

I hope the look I send back reassures him that I’ll never tell.

Luca leans over the counter in front of me. “Did you guys make up or something?”

“No,” I tell him. “I don’t know. Maybe.”

He still manipulated me. He still hurt me. But I do miss him. I’d be content to spend the next nine hours lying next to him with a book and his arm around my waist. Of course, I won’t do that.

“Just be careful, Teagan,” River says. “Don’t piss him off again.”

“I didn’t—” I pause, deciding not to bother arguing that I didn’t do anything to him—all I did was react to something he did to me. I point to Luca. “I thought you all said he was the dangerous one.”

River shrugs. “Well, apparently not when it comes to you. Declan is usually pretty predictable. He’s…I don’t know how to describe it.”

“He’s unbothered,” Hazel says. “By everything. He’s always in control. There’s something about you that’s bothering him. That’s dangerous—for you.”

“So, what? You think he’s going to kill me or something?” I force a laugh when I ask the question, even though I’m not joking.

“You’ll be fine, Teagan,” Luca says, seeing the worried look on my face. “Don’t listen to them. I know him better than anybody. If he wanted to hurt you—if he wanted you dead, you’d know it. Do you think he wants that, baby?”

“No,” I tell him. “I don’t think that’s what he wants.”

But I’m still not convinced that he doesn’t want me to hurt myself—that he doesn’t want what Alana said. To get under my skin, to make me love him, to control me.

And then watch me go insane.

“Well, then there you go. You’re fine.”

“Wow, Luca,” Brady chimes in from behind us. “Your logic is impressively delusional.”

“Hey, shut the fuck up.”

“For the record, I actually agree with Luca,” Rhett adds.

“I’m going to go check on him,” Hazel says, passing me on her way to the staircase. “I don’t want him to feel left out.”

“Well, what does everyone want to do all fucking day?” River asks.

I know what I want to do all day. But I’m not going to do it.

“I’ll take one of those beers now,” I tell Luca.

The rest of them eventually settle on a Netflix series to binge all day, and I pop in my headphones and lie across Luca’s lap with a book in my hands. I try not to think too much about Declan, but it’s difficult.

The wound on my chest—that constant reminder of who chose me, of why I’m here, and who I really belong to—itches the entire day.

On top of the already day-long drive, we hit traffic on our way to Dallas, and it was well into the night when we finally got in. It wasn’t so bad, though, except I would have preferred to keep sleeping on the bus in the parking lot rather than move into the hotel in the middle of the night.

Still, it’s warmer here, as promised, and the Southern California girl in me is grateful for the sun. I stretch out on the daybed by the pool with Luca at my side and some kind of orange drink in my hand. I removed the bandage from my new carving this morning; there aren’t many people at the pool right now, but the ones that do see me, stare, and I swear I saw a few of them snapping pictures of us. That’s something I’m still getting used to—I guess I’m used to it at shows, but not during the day doing regular things.

But the matching ‘T’ carved onto his tattooed chest, right over his heart, healed and scarred nicely. And now they all know—maybe I don’t own him, but he is mine in every way that matters. It triggers something primal in me that I can’t quite explain.

I just want to take a fucking bite out of him.

“What?” he asks. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“No reason,” I tell him. “You’re just really fucking hot. And you have a big dick.”

“Is that it?” he asks, turning onto his side.

“No, that’s not it. I’m pretty sure those girls over there taking selfies are actually taking pictures and videos of you. I’m thinking about how much I wish we were the only ones here so I could put it in my mouth.”

“How many times do I need to tell you to be careful talking to me like that, Teagan? You might be sorry when you get what you want regardless of who’s watching.”

My eyes run down his body, and I notice his dick hard against his thigh. I scoot in closer and kiss him on the mouth, slipping my hand inside his swim shorts and wrapping my hand around his hardness. I stroke him just a little, running my thumb over the head, and he groans.

He takes the towel from behind his head and throws it over our waists. “Keep doing that,” he says.

He relaxes against the daybed, and I work his cock between us, pumping him in my fist slowly enough not to make it obvious. Precum leaks from the tip, and I wipe it away with my thumb, making sure he sees me bring it to my mouth and suck.

“God, you’re sexy,” Luca says.

His dick jumps in my hand when I wrap it around him again. “I could do this all fucking day,” I tell him softly.

“Of course you could,” he groans. “Oh, fuck.” He reaches over and moves my bikini top to the side enough to get one of my nipples free, rubbing it between his fingers.

The girls from the other side of the pool stopped taking photos about ten minutes ago, but they can’t stop watching. It only makes me wetter.

I jerk him a little faster, aware that I’ve had him on the edge for quite a while now.

“There’s going to be so much cum, Teagan,” he says. “You’re going to have to wrap those pretty lips around it like you wanted and take it all in front of everyone, or you’re going to be covered in it.”

“Tell me when, and I’ll do it.”

He groans again and then shouts over my shoulder, “Hey! Come over here for a second.” I don’t look to see who it is, but when the person he’s speaking to is closer, he tells them, “Sit in front of us.”

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised to see it’s Declan, shirtless in a pair of black swim trunks, who sits down on the daybed in front of us, pulling the canopy down a bit when he does.

“Give me that mouth, baby,” Luca says, with a hand in my hair. I drop my head down and take him in my mouth, licking and sucking while he thrusts into the back of my throat just a couple of times before filling it with cum. “Ah, fuck. That’s it.”

And there’s so much of it. Just like he promised. I make sure I suck down every drop because I’m his good girl.

I come up for air when he releases his grip, wipe my mouth, and lie down beside him again. Declan glances back over his shoulder before moving into the space on my opposite side.

Right fucking next to me, in fact. Shoulder-to-shoulder.

I can feel him looking at the ‘D’ on my chest but can’t gauge his reaction through his sunglasses—not that I’d necessarily be able to if he wasn’t wearing them.

I wonder if his reaction is like mine. Visceral, carnal.

“Colleen called,” Declan says.

“Yeah? What did she want?” Luca asks.

“You’re trending again,” he tells him. “Jessica had some things to say about you.”
