“What do you two want to eat? I’ll buy it for you,”
I offered.
A bright smile appeared on both of their lips. “I want some of that yummy Cuban food!”
Wyatt said excitedly, and then Lori chimed in, “I want churros with chocolate!”
“Alright, then let’s go and fill our stomachs with lots of delicious food!”
I exclaimed as we left the beach and headed back to our hotel room. After changing into nicer clothes, I drove us to a restaurant close to the hotel.
I quickly found an empty table and ordered the food. Surprisingly, the food arrived earlier than I expected, and we started happily digging in. Another reason for coming to Miami was that it was far away from the Emerald Bright Pack. The two were hours apart from each other. I had managed to escape unnoticed, and by the time they realized I was gone, I was already in another city. No one could track me here.
At the same time, I had carefully chosen a hotel that only catered to humans. Everything had gone smoothly so far, I felt slightly satisfied after so much turmoil in my mind. My children were safe with me, and I knew I could quickly find a way forward.
I finished my churro while leaving a few messages for Lola. Wyatt and Lori were eating slowly, but I needed to use the restroom.
“Wyatt, I’m going to the restroom and will be back in a minute. Take care of your sister and yourself, and don’t go anywhere. Sit here quietly until I return, do you understand?”
“I understand, mommy,”
he nodded obediently.
“Good,”
I smiled, getting up from my seat and leaving my purse and phone on the table before I turned to walk towards the restroom.
As soon as I took a few steps, I slowed down because I realized the restaurant was completely empty. When we arrived it had been full of humans. There were not even any waitresses, there was just an alarming silence that had spread throughout the whole restaurant.
That’s when my nose caught the scent of something that wasn’t human. My wolf’s senses immediately kicked in, and I froze in my tracks. It was a werewolf. Why was there suddenly a werewolf? No, actually, it wasn’t just one, but too many!
I immediately turned around to run towards Wyatt and Lori. I had to get them and run away as soon as possible but just as I took a few steps, someone’s hand came from behind and covered my mouth. I had been caught, but I struggled against their hold as I watched Wyatt and Lori, who were watching me. I tried to kick and thrash, aiming to free myself, but another pair of hands grabbed my arms, preventing me from breaking free. Then, the unmistakable scent of chloroform overwhelmed me, then everything went dark.
“Mommy!!”
Wyatt and Lori jumped out of their seats to run towards me as I slipped into the darkness.
“No my children ”
The last thing I felt was someone roughly throwing me over their shoulder as I heard my children calling out for and chasing after me.

“Fucking awsome!”
I roared in utter delight. “That little slut has finally disappeared from the Emerald Bright Pack!”
my laughter echoed through the entire packhouse.
The warrior standing in front of me grinned, “Yes, Alpha. I saw her running with her pups as soon as I lied about Ella’s wedding date being fixed with Alpha Reuben. Now she will no longer try to come between the two of them!”
“True, now that little slut is not there to disturb my niece’s life. Soon Ella will be married to Reuben and become his mate and Luna with no further interruptions. It seems that all my hard work in bringing Elder Frank back did not go to waste. That old man was really able to obtain an imperial decree from the King after I requested it, though I believe he also had some personal issues with Reuben. This way he could get revenge on Reuben using it and I could clear the path for my Ella’s to Reuben. Now they will marry on this coming full moon,”
I sat on my chair with a satisfied smile.
“Congratulations, Alpha,”
the warrior exclaimed.
I nodded proudly but then a stray thought crossed my mind, “Elder Frank was supposed to come and visit me that day after he delivered the imperial decree to Alpha Reuben. I wonder why he never came here,”
I murmured.
“To be honest, I never saw Elder Frank leave the packhouse, Alpha. I don’t know how he could have left the pack without me having noticed,”
he replied.
I cocked my brows and thought about it for a long time before I brushed it off. I did not want to ruin my joy with thoughts of that old man’s disappearance. He no longer held any value to me.
“Didn’t you say that you had recorded that little slut leaving? Show me the video,”
I demanded. “Let me see what she looks like.”
He nodded and pulled out his phone, “I thought you saw her already in those photographs, Alpha.”
I glanced at the picture of her kissing Reuben that was lying on my desk, “These photos were taken from far because getting any closer meant being discovered by Reuben. They were not able to see the girl’s face. I never saw the girl face clearly.”
He nodded and placed his phone down beside the pictures that I had been staring at. I shifted my eyes from the photos to the video but as soon as Reuben’s soulmate came to view the smile on my face slipped off and my heart dropped into my stomach.
“She ”

Heaviness and pain, that’s all I could feel as soon as I started regaining consciousness. My eyelashes flattered yet opening eyes seemed like an endless battle. For a long time everything in my line of sight was blurry but soon I realized that everything around me was just dark. Slightly moving my body, the sounds of jiggling reached my ears as I discovered that my arms and legs were chained. At the same time the constant chill coming from beneath alerted me to the fact that I had been carelessly tossed on the ground.
I panicked. Shit! I had been kidnapped! Wyatt and Lori .
As soon as they came to mind I started struggling wildly as my heart beat a frantic rhythm against my chest. What happened to them? The last image I had was of them running after me when I was being carried away. My children had been left alone to fend for themselves in an unfamiliar city! There were not even humans there to help them. They were innocent, they did not know what to do or where to go. They could be in any number of untold dangers without me. I didn’t even know how long I had been unconscious in this location. The more I thought about it, the more restless I became.
I was curled up painfully in the middle of the room, I tried to use my full strength to break the chain.
“It’s no use,”
the creepy voice of a man entered my ears from behind, freezing me on the spot. So there was someone else in the room? Watching me all this time? I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. “The more you try to break them, the tighter they will grow around your hands, you know.”
I slowly tilted my head finding a middle aged wolf with yellow eyes and messy appearance standing there. He was a rogue! He was not alone. I caught the figures of three other men standing behind him in the murky darkness and they were all naked! I immediately scurried back even if all that I was able to manage was an inch.
“Who are you? Why did you kidnap me?!”
I demanded, even though I was incredibly scared. Rogues were always bad news. All of their eyes were full of evil.
The man that I assumed was their leader came closer to me and touched my cheek.
“Don’t touch me!”
Panicking and filled with nothing but disgust I pulled my face back from his touch. His eyes darkened and in the next second he grabbed my hair and buried his nose on my neck.
I flinched and closed my eyes in revulsion when I realized he was inhaling my scent, “She is real. Dark’s Rose is real ”
