I opened my mouth, unsure of what to say, until he asked, “Are you his whore?”
“What?”
I abruptly froze in place, my mind going blank. I couldn’t fathom why he would think of me in such a demeaning way.
“Are you not?”
he raised his brows, his tone accusing.
Once again, I was rendered speechless. I couldn’t reveal the truth about being Reuben’s soulmate, nor could I admit to our intimate relationship. I was trapped.

He suddenly barked and slapped me.
I fell to the ground, my hand instinctively covering my cheek where the sting of his slap lingered. I was shocked and in pain.
Before I could fully process what had happened, he roughly grabbed my hair and yanked me up. “How dare a slut like you be rude to royalty?”
he sneered.

I sobbed, tears streaming down my face as I pleaded for mercy but he showed no compassion. “Please, let me go. Please ”
“Not before you tell me exactly what your relationship with him is,”
he growled, tightening his grip on my hair, causing me more pain. “Are you his whore?”

Tears streamed down my cheeks as the fear of death gripped my heart. I knew what he wanted to hear, and in my agony and humiliation, I whispered, “Yes,”
admitting to the false accusation of being my mate’s whore.
He suddenly looked satisfied, and just when I thought he would let me go, I felt a dirty lick on my cheek from him. “He really has good taste in whores,”
he chuckled, touching me inappropriately.
I burst into tears out of fear and helplessness. I never thought that the touch of another man could be so scary. He shoved me away in disgust, causing me to fall to the ground again.
“Make sure you don’t get knocked up by him, okay?”
he suddenly smiled, raising my chin up with the toe of his shoe, “Otherwise you know what happens when a whore bears a Prince’s child, right?”
“Prince?”
I felt my body freeze at his words.
“Don’t you know?”
he raised his brows in amusement and leaned down towards my face with a dangerous look in his eyes, “You are the whore of a Prince. Alpha Reuben is the nephew of the Alpha King.”
My eyes widened and my whole body turned to ice when I realized Reuben’s real identity. Alpha Louis and the Alpha King were brothers, and my soulmate was of royal blood. I also found out the mystery behind Reuben’s disappearances. He was leaving to deal with issues concerning the royals.
That day, the Elder let me go, thinking I was Reuben’s plaything. For royals, women were tools for men to satisfy their needs then discard. But from that day on, I lived in constant fear. I couldn’t sleep properly, afraid that Alpha Louis could appear at my doorstep at any moment and either drag me out of the pack or worse, kill me.

“If you don’t believe me, then ask anyone around the pack. Or better yet, ask your so-called friend, Mia. She will tell you how respectfully I was called over to this pack to sign those marriage papers,”
she stated proudly. “Reuben and I even exchanged rings,”
