Chapter 45 – Goddess’s Design His Fated Mate Willow Novel Free By Pooja

Filed To Story: Goddess's Design His Fated Mate (Willow & Reuben)

Reuben demanded answers from his father. In the whole world, only Reuben dared to address his father this way and met his eyes without fear.

The Alpha glanced lazily at him and replied, “Nothing special. Just a little chat with this Omega to confirm if she is your-“

“No, I am not,”

I interrupted the Alpha and confidently looked at him, “I am not Alpha Reuben’s girlfriend or anything,”

I lied, despite Ceri and I being in great pain from it.

Reuben’s eyes snapped to me in surprise, but I refused to meet his gaze. Denying our soulmate bond wasn’t easy, but I feared rejection, abandonment, and losing Reuben.

“What are you…”

Reuben started, but I cut him off, continuing, “In this photo, I am indeed with Alpha Reuben on his bike,”

I confessed. Alpha Louis’s expression immediately turned hostile. “But it’s not what you’re thinking. That day, I missed my bus and was late for my examination. Alpha Reuben took pity on me and gave me a ride to the college. That’s it,”

I lied to the point that the Alpha’s expressions lightened but Reuben was burning inside.

I sensed his fury through our mate bond, but I felt helpless. I knew I was being selfish, but I couldn’t risk exposing our relationship. I couldn’t jeopardize his future, his Alpha position, or our mate bond. That day, the Alpha dismissed me without further questioning, but the rumors in the pack associating Reuben’s name with an Omega stirred more anger in the Alpha. He imposed stricter rules on the Omegas, including a prohibition on Omegas being seen around the Alpha’s family. Violating this rule meant immediate banishment without trial.

From that day on, I accepted not to be greedy and found my happiness even in the limited time that Reuben and I could spend at night in my house. It was enough for me that we were still together, he only loved me and I held onto the hope that someday we could find happiness.

But questions always lingered-how had the Alpha come to suspect Reuben and I? How had he obtained those photos, and why was he so sure that I was lying?

All those years that I lived in fear of being exposed and rejected. Now seeing the Alpha in front of me once again after six years, that fear returned to my mind especially when he…

“Are they…your children?”

Alpha Louis murmured in disbelief as he set his wide eyes on Wyatt and Lori.

My heart dropped in my stomach as he discovered that I gave birth to Reuben’s children. Watching as he stretched his hand towards Wyatt and Lori alarmed me. Was he going to harm them?! I took a step forward but before I could do anything I felt like a breeze passed by me.

“They are my grandchildren…”

The Alpha touched Wyatt and Lori but the next second Reuben violently pushed his father’s hands away and pulled Wyatt and Lori behind him.

“Don’t you dare to touch my children!”

he growled at Alpha Louis. My body grew cold seeing Reuben’s hostile glare directed at his father and Alpha Louis’s helpless expression. That’s when I realized, Alpha Louis scent seemed different and the hatred in Reuben’s eyes was beyond my imagination. What was going on? What exactly happened over the last six years?

“Reuben”

Alpha Louis opened his mouth but Reuben turned away with Wyatt and Lori. He came back to me looking into my panicked eyes.

“It’s okay, let’s go,”

he took my cold hand and gently led me away.

I stared at Reuben’s back, feeling his emotions going up and down to dangerous levels, “Reuben…”

I whispered. His grip tightened on my hand when he heard me but he did not look back at me and kept walking.

“Reuben…”

I called again, noticing that his hand was shaking with anger. He was… why was he reacting like that?

Once again he neither stopped nor looked back at me. So this time, I stopped and softly put my hand on his shoulder, “Reuben…”

As soon as my voice fell on his ears this time, he stopped abruptly. His hands shook more violently and the next thing I knew was he turned around and pulled me into his arms. My breasts bumped into his hard chest, I gasped and froze in his warm tight embrace.

“Willow…”

he whispered, my name burying his face in my neck.

I held my breath as my heart beat slowed when I felt his heart broken through the bond. He was hurt and alone, just like me. He was wounded and abandoned, just like me. A sudden pain raised in my heart that mirrored Reuben’s. I closed my eyes and bit my lip, feeling my own emotions breaking. My hand subconsciously rose to touch his back. Why…why was he hurting so much? Better yet, why…why was I in so much pain seeing him like this?

Alpha Benjamin

“Alpha!”

Ken burst into my office with urgency, his pace franetic. He’d been handling crucial matters for the pack in my absence but returned in the evening, bearing news that had sent shockwaves through the werewolf world. “Alpha, the Green Wood Pack has suffered the same mysterious attack as Silver Moon. They’ve been annihilated and burned, yet the remains of no bodies were found!”

He halted abruptly, observing my desperate scrutiny of the reports detailing the Silvermoon and Green Wood Pack assaults.

My attention remained fixed on the report, refusing to lift my gaze to meet Ken’s eyes. My focus was absorbed by every minute detail within the document. I had dispatched my spy to covertly infiltrate both territories, which were currently under the control of top-ranking packs. The spy returned with photographs and a handful of other items that had occupied me for nearly half the day as I meticulously cross-referenced the evidence.

As I perused the reports from the laboratory that had arrived just minutes ago, my eyes widened in disbelief. “How is this…”

I murmured under my breath, I felt as if the ground was crumbling under my feet.

“Alpha, what’s the matter? What does the report say?”

Ken’s voice was tinged with worry as he approached my desk. With no response from me, he glanced at the reports, his brow furrowing. After studying them for a moment, he looked back at me clearly puzzled. “I can’t spot any difference between the two pack incidents, Alpha. It seems that they’re both the work of the same individual, but…”

He trailed off, sensing my abnormal reaction despite my unreadable expression. “Is something amiss, Alpha?”

“No, nothing’s wrong,”

I interrupted, swiftly closing the files and reports, tossing them into the trash. “It’s probably just stress and lack of sleep causing me to mix up the two pack incidents,”

I explained, shaking my head as I reached for a cigarette to calm my racing heart and mind. I had fucking lost my mind thinking about this nonsense and scaring myself.

Ken nodded in agreement. “I agree, Alpha. The situation is so delicate that suspicion is brewing among the packs, even among allies. The entire werewolf world is on edge and uncertain due to these mysterious attacks. Anyone could be the assailant and anyone could be the next target. We need to take measures to protect ourselves, Alpha,”

he urged urgently. My grip tightened on the cigarette as I nodded in response. “For now, fortify the borders and focus on bolstering our manpower. We must be ready for war at any moment, anywhere,”

I commanded, turning on my heel to exit the office.

“I understand, Alpha,”

Ken affirmed, trailing after me as I issued a few more directives until we reached the living room, where Willow had just entered the packhouse.

“Alpha, Beta Ken,”

she greeted, coming to a stop and beaming at the two of us.

“Willow,”

I returned the smile, my mood instantly lifting at the sight of her. I had been anticipating her arrival since the messages she sent earlier that morning.
