I’d say I can’t believe she just did that, but I can, we have been the absolute worst. I only hope she doesn’t realize right now that we have to accept the rejection for it to be effective. Hopefully, that will buy us time to try to make amends somehow. Lex is so hurt by the rejection that he has retreated to the back of my mind. He will be hiding out there for a while I guess. She has a smirk on her face at our agony and she doesn’t seem to be in pain at all, most likely because the bond was already fractured on her end. While I am still withering on the ground in pain, she shifts into her absolutely massive, pure white Lycan. Now I get why she has these special features, powers and strong aura. White wolves are a legend, an enigma. The only supposed sighting of one was over 5 decades ago and the sighting was too brief to get any real information on white wolves. The only thing recorded was the power to control certain elements, but they never got to verify if the wolf could control more elements or what else it could possibly do. The wolf vanished from the face of the earth, or so it seemed. Liberty, as she is called apparently, is not only white, she is massive. And, just like Lola was earlier, also emanating flames. I think she is bigger than my father’s Lycan even. She is a sight to behold, and her aura is powerful and deadly as hell. I think we have pissed off the wrong girl. Let’s hope she still feels the bond and shows us some mercy. I’m pretty sure this white Lycan can easily finish us off, especially since Lex has vanished.
Zeke POV
But to my surprise, Liberty looks away from us and focuses her attention on Damon. She is snarling at him like we didn’t just reveal that he is a f*cking dragon prince. F*ck. She is big and has some powers I guess, but Damon is a royal f*cking DRAGON! Damon’s dragon is easily 15 times her size, if not more. A dragon’s skin, or scabs, is almost impenetrable. And him being a royal dragon, he is a lot bigger and more powerful than normal dragons. She does not want to piss him off. We hear a primal, guttural voice saying “so you think having s*x slaves is OK? You think you can grab whomever you want against their will?”. I have to do a double take on if I just heard that correctly or if my ears are deceiving me, because no Lycan – and I mean no Lycan – can talk in their Lycan form, it’s impossible. I don’t know how she is doing this, but it is really freaky. Well, not more freaky than breaking someone’s bones without even touching them I guess, but still. Damon seems on edge, although I don’t really know why, as the only non-magical being that could handle him single-handedly is his father. He replies “I… Look – erhm Lola right? – I don’t, honestly. It was all an act the guys asked me to go along with to drive you away. I’m sorry for going along with it” while holding his hands up in surrender. I’d call him a traitor for outing us, but we deserve all that we are getting now.
“So helping 2 pretentious *ssholes scaring away an innocent girl to unclaimed lands to get captivated and assaulted by rogues is much better, isn’t it?” she fires back, all the while slowly stalking towards Damon. “It isn’t no. I have apologized for my part already. But Lola, please reign in your wolf now, as my dragon isn’t too keen on the disrespect. He is a royal Alpha, and he is pushing me to fight. If you keep this up I won’t be able to hold him back”. Oh gods. This woman and her Lycan are feisty and relentless as f*ck. I hope they realize the severity of the situation, but somehow I can imagine this going completely south with someone as persistent as her. And unfortunately, I am proven right when Liberty snarls “Respect is earned, not given, dragon pup”. Oh dear goddess, please don’t, please prevent this from happening. I know I don’t have any right to ask anything as I have been even worse, but she hasn’t done anything to deserve any of this. Please save her.
Damon drops his restraint as his dragon starts taking over. His dragon replies “grrrrrrrrrph, wrong move little girl. Don’t think I will spare you just because you are a measly she wolf” before shifting into his massive dragon. Looking at Damon’s dragon, you can’t help but be scared like a little schoolgirl. The thing is massive and deadly as can be. ‘Zane are you healed yet? We need to do something!’. ‘No, Lance says the bone was snapped in half, which is why it is taking longer. F*ck his dragon is enormous! It reminds me why we want to be allies with them. Please let’s reason with Damon before it is too late!’ he replies over mind link. He then proceeds to shout at the dragon “Damon, please stop! You can’t hurt her, she is our mate!”, but neither the dragon nor Liberty seem to hear him, they are both fully focused on the other. F*ck. ‘You give it a try dude!’ Zane yells through the mind link. “DAMON STOP! You can’t kill a Lycan on royal grounds, that would cause a war between our Kingdoms!” I shout at him, but to no avail. Neither of them is even acknowledging our existence at the moment.
Damon’s dragon roars as I have never seen him do before, the wind is shooshing around the field and the intensity of it is staggering. I have never seen a dragon in battle and the sight of him right now, I have to admit, shakes me to my core. Their main power is their dragon’s breath (fire) of course, but his fangs look like they could cut through diamonds because they’re that sharp. I am rooted to the spot in fear of this giant, and I think all the color has drained from my face. The dragon isn’t here to play, that much is clear. I am not only fearful of the dragon now, but I am petrified for my newfound mate. He shoots a beam of fire her way which she luckily dodges at first, but the dragon doesn’t relent and tails her with his ray of fire. ‘F*ck!!! Dude are you able to move yet?’ Zane growls in my head. ‘Not yet, but it shouldn’t be long anymore. What the f*ck do we do?! We can’t beat him man’. ‘Should we link dad and Damon’s father?’. Damn, why didn’t I think of that? ‘Yes let’s do it, anything to save her, even if it means we’ll be in the dog house forever!’. I’m brought back to the fight when Liberty stops running in circles from the fire. She jolts back and leaps over the fire. Damn, that’s ballsy. One touch of those flames and she is a goner. Watching this and knowing this is your other half, fighting for her life, is excruciating. I know I sound like a hypocrite as this was all our doing, but I genuinely feel so f*cking bad about what we did right now. I may need to fight to the death to protect her from him, but I will. ‘Bro, once I am able to move I am going all in, even if it’ll cost me my life. I owe her that much’ I say to Zane through the mind link, and he replies ‘me too brother. I can’t tell you how bad I feel. I already didn’t want to go through with it after sparring today, I should have just spoken up man’. ‘Well f*ck me, I didn’t want to go through with it either, I thought I was doing it for you’.
Zane POV
When Zeke told me he didn’t want to go through with it either, but thought he was doing it for me, I almost lost my sh*t. If we had both just owned up to it, we wouldn’t have been in this mess right now. We are such idi*ts. ‘F*ck!! But forget about it for now – let’s focus on making sure she makes it out alive’ I reply, while I continue watching what happens between Liberty and the dragon. I have mind linked dad and he and Damon’s dad are on their way. Needless to say, dad wasn’t happy. The dragon was momentarily stunned when she leaped back over the fire. I can tell he wasn’t expecting such a bold move, neither was I. Liberty now runs straight towards him as she leaps for his tail, bites down on it and immediately swings him across the yards where he crashes through a lot of trees before he drops to the ground. Damn, I wasn’t expecting that! I didn’t even know Lycans could penetrate a dragon’s skin. And how the hell is she able to swing a full-grown, royal, dragon like that? He’s about 15 times her size and weight… It’s not the first surprise she has given us today, but damn. The dragon flies into the sky and then comes crashing down towards her, towards my mate. The one I might never get to hold, love or call mine, because of my own f*cking ignorance. But I’ll be damned if I let him hurt her, I would die before I let that happen.
