Addie: I’m in too deep, Lette. He knows I’m on my way back, he will come looking for me.
Me: Let him! He will be met with Hell’s fury. Please, Adelina. It’s not too late.
I showed my phone to Maddix and my dads. Then to mom. “See, she feels like she has no other choice. She’s afraid for the safety of her children,” I said. My mom broke down and nodded her head. My phone went off again, and this time, it was good news.
Addie: I am about 16 miles from Blood Moon. He has a tracker on my car. What do I do about that?
I explained the situation to everyone, and Damian said, “Tell her to pull into a restaurant and go inside. Make it seem like she is getting some food. He wouldn’t suspect anything that way. Send Phoenix to get her. It shouldn’t take him longer than half an hour to get to her. Have him take her to Blood Moon and hide her until we can all get there.”
His solution made sense, and I relayed the plan to Addie.
Addie: Thank you sis. Tell everyone I’m truly sorry for all of this.
Me: You can thank them yourself. We are going to load up and head out. Meet you at Blood Moon. I love you, Addie.
Maddix felt skeptical, and I didn’t blame him. He felt we were walking into a trap, but in my heart, I knew she wasn’t setting us up.
I started to pack, and Damian stopped me. “You are staying here, Alette,” he said. I laughed at him and said, “Like hell I am. I will go into the safety bunkers with my sisters, but we are going! Asteria and I both. I will go without you if you don’t take me with you.” He knew there was no fighting me, because he also knew I would follow through with my threat.
He got down my bag and I filled it with things I would need. I had to agree to see Dr. Campbell before I left to make sure things would be alright for me to travel, and then notify Roxy that I was coming. I was willing to compromise with him, because that’s how a relationship works. Compromising is sometimes a must.
I called the hospital and informed them that I was on my way over. I needed a quick checkup at the insistence of the Alpha. They gladly told me to come in, and I did just that. Plus, it was a good excuse to meet my goddaughter finally.
Damian and Asteria accompanied me on the visit, and I think they were more nervous than I was. Dr. Campbell came in and did a thorough exam. He decided to do an ultrasound, and the nurse brought in the monitor. After squirting the cold gel on my stomach, he started to move around the wand. Multiple little heartbeats filled the room, and I broke down in tears.
“Are those my little ones?” I asked. He nodded his head and told me their heartbeats sounded very strong. When they finally appeared on the screen, Asteria let out a gasp. “Lette! There are three!” she exclaimed.
Damian and I stared at the screen, and realized she was right. Three little beans. “Can you tell gender yet?” I asked the doctor. He said not yet, but he should in a few weeks. He congratulated us, and told me that I could get cleaned up. He handed me a towel, and told me that he wanted to see me again in about 3 weeks.
When he left, we were elated and laughing. When I looked at my phone again, that all changed.
Phoenix: Alette, I have Addie, but we have a problem. We are being followed.
