Filed To Story: Sorry Alpha I Am Wolfless Novel
After getting all the toys and the clothes that we needed, as well as their other essentials that came with raising toddlers, I decided to step into the parent’s bedroom. There, I found a wedding photo from several years ago, the woman’s face was not swollen and quite beautiful. The father, like the boys, had blond hair and hazel eyes, he looked to be so in love with his wife.
“I am sorry that this happened to you.” I spoke to the picture as I tried not to cry. “I am sorry that they lost you, but I promise you that I will not let them come to any harm. They will be safe, and we will make sure that they grow up happy, and knowing who you are.”
After my promise to the lost parents, I walked over to the closet and started to look for something in particular. I needed something that would help the boys to stay calm when they were feeling lonely.
Like wolves, Vampires have heightened senses, and so do hybrids. I knew that they would be able to smell their mother and father’s scents on clothes that were in their room. I found two jackets, ones that had been worn in the colder weather but had not yet been washed since they were worn. I could smell them on it very strongly and I knew that they would work just fine.
After adding those jackets to the luggage that we had packed from the house, we got back into the SUV, now equipped with the car seats from the family vehicle, and headed back to the castle. It was time to help the boys settle in.
We still only spent two weeks in Germany. The authorities, knowing who we were in the vampire community and not knowing at all how to place a set of half vampire twins with human foster parents, expedited the adoption. We had their paperwork and everything else finalized within the time that we had already planned to be in the country.
And we did so without sacrificing all the wonderful things that we had wanted to do with the kids while we were there. We just had two more little ones with us while we did it.
Flying home was different than going to Germany. Dietrich and I had to hold the boys when we took off because they were scared of the plane and the pressure that popped in their ears. After they settled down though, when we were cruising over the ocean, they started to run around the private plane and play with Ember and Bret. When they got sleepy, Fauna read them a story.
And then, finally, Luther tucked them in on the beds that the chairs formed when laid down. It was all very peaceful and familial.
We had told Riviana and Joaquin about the adoption, but not about my pregnancy. Likewise, we had spoken frequently with Alyssa, Alexa, Levi and Luka while we were gone and they knew that they now had two more little brothers. They had spoken to them over the phone and video chats, and they were eager to meet them.
We landed at the airport in Colorado Springs, headed toward the SUV that we had left here two weeks beforehand, and headed home. I was starting to get nervous, not because of Carsten and Casper, but because I was soon going to be telling the kids about the other babies that would be here soon. And even though it had only been two weeks, I was already starting to get morning sickness.
That was the worst part of this whole thing.
Alyssa, Alexa, Levi and Luka all met us outside when we got home. The twins were asleep in their car seats, which we brought from Germany. The girls, Alyssa and Alexa, hurried to get them out of the car.
“Hello, Carsten.” Alyssa said as she picked him up, he was wearing primarily green, as that had been in his dresser in the family’s home.
“Casper, I am your sister Alexandria. Alexa for short.” She picked him up, he was wearing red for the most part. At least it made it easier to tell them apart.
We went into the house and sat together in the living room. Now awake and fully rested, Carsten and Casper were exploring their new surroundings. They were comfortable around us now, so there were no issues like that to deal with. I guess that was a benefit of them still being so young.
“Can we talk to all of you?” I called out to get their attention. “They can continue to play, we just need to keep an eye on them.”
“Is there something wrong, Dad?” Luka asked as he sat on the extra large sectional sofa.
“Not wrong, no.” I smiled and shook my head. “I just need to tell you all something.”
“OK.” Alexa said as she settled in next to her brother.
“Go on, Dad, we’re listening.” Levi said calmly.
Once they were all seated, I took a deep breath and looked at them all very seriously. I needed to get this out, and I needed to be brave while saying it.
“Alright, here it is. Our family is growing.”
“Yeah, we know that.” Luka said as he indicated the boys that were playing with the footstool.
“No, that is not what I mean. It was already growing even before we met them. We had eight, and now there are ten, but soon there will be twelve.”
“You’re adopting again?” Alyssa asked me in confusion.
“No, we’re not adopting again. This is different.” I gave the four oldest ones a look that said ‘think about it’, I think that it worked because after a moment or two they all sat up straighter and gasped.
“Dad!?”
“Oh my Goddess!”
“Really?!”
“Are you sure?!”
“Yes, we are sure. We’re going to have two more babies. They will be due in November, and they are both girls.”
“Oh wow. This is amazing.” Luka laughed happily. “I..I thought that it was a one time thing though. How did this happen?”
“Well,” I hesitated as I remembered back to my time in Germany, “I think that it has to do with the fact that I am now a God, and so is Papa. We have more magic, and that allowed this to happen.”
“Oh.” They just said as if that was not all that significant.
“Daddy?” Ember asked me calmly. “You’re going to have two babies?”
“Yes, just like I had your oldest brothers and sisters.” I nodded as I explained it to her. “Are you OK with that?”
“Yes. You are the more mommy one for us. I mean, you are still Daddy, but you are more like a mommy than Papa is.”
“Well, I guess you are right there.” We all laughed.
For the rest of the night, we bonded with the new boys and talked about the twin girls that were on the way. We were a close knit family, and we always seemed capable of having moments like this. And not only that, but I was starting to get really excited. Dietrich and I had wanted to add to our family, and now we were.
After talking about a lot of things over the first few days, Dietrich and I had decided to name the new babies Milina and Madelina. They would be Millie and Maddie for short if they wanted to be. I was just happy that we were able to settle on something so quickly.
And telling Riviana and Joaquin was a lot easier than I thought that it would be. They accepted it, like I knew that they would. They gushed over the boys, although saddened by the circumstances, and congratulated us on the girls.
For the time being, I was still working. I only had six months at most until the girls were here, so I couldn’t work for long. The plan was to work until I started to show too much and then stay home with the kids. Dietrich and I were even alternating who worked with Riviana because we needed to be home for Casper and Carsten to adjust.
Soon though, we would both be home and just respond when we were needed.
A lot was changing, but not in a bad way. Our family had just grown a little more, and would be again soon. We were happy though, and that was all that mattered. The boys, though still sad without their mother and father from time to time, were adjusting to life in a new country very well. I just knew that they would be alright, given time. And I was so proud of the kids that accepted them so easily.
They knew that we couldn’t abandon the boys, and they didn’t want to see them left behind with no one to watch over them. That proved to me that we were raising our kids to be generous, kind, and selfless. OK, they were still young and could make mistakes, but they learned from them as all people should.

I was casually walking through the halls of my castle. The kids were having fun with their cousins out in the garden, Trevor was in a meeting with some people from his pack. He might be the King of the Fae alongside me, but he was still the Alpha of his pack, and that made me his Luna.
Isn’t that funny? I was a three thousand year old Fae Queen, and just recently I added the role of Luna to my repertoire. Well, I say recently, but it’s been a long time now. Over a decade. I met Trevor when little Talia was just a baby. And we had our first child together a little while later.
Now we had three kids, were happily married and mated, and living our best lives.
Our oldest son, Torben, was thirteen, and his younger siblings, twins Owen and Calissa, were eleven. They were the best things that ever happened to me. Them and their dad, that is. I had for so long thought that I would never be married, that I would never have children and a family of my own.
And then, one day, when Riviana was coming to visit me along with some people from her kingdom, I met the love of my life.
It was instantaneous. I knew from the moment that I smelled him that he was meant to be mine, and he knew it as well. I had to literally fight the urge to climb that man like a tree. He was so tall, so strong, and so hot that I just didn’t know what to do with him. He knew though, and from the first night that we were together, I was his. There was no need for me to wait.
When you live to be thousands of years old, you tend to lose some of those inhibitions that hold you back from doing some of the more exciting and fun things in the world. Humans have always had people that were carefree, they would break the rules and go against the mold. We, Fae, were a lot like that.
When we were young, we might be conscientious and scared, but the older we got, the less we worried about that sort of thing.
I was worrying about something now though. Well, not worried really, rather that I was thinking about it. And I was thinking about it a lot with each passing day.
Even though I was immortal, and so was Trevor, I wanted to have more children now. I had longed for them for so long, hoped for them for millennia, that I wanted to grow a larger family now. And, well, I wanted to ask Trevor about it and see if he was willing to expand now.
The issue that I was having though, was that there had been so much going on in the world lately. Those murderers that attacked and killed people from Riviana’s kingdom as well as mine. And then there was the reveal. The world knew about us now. They knew that the monsters of the world were real, and that we weren’t really monsters.
Now, while this was good in theory, it had led to a lot of problems with the humans. And in turn, we had been excessively busy as we worked to calm the situation. I wanted to make sure that there were peaceful times for everyone, and so did Riviana. It had been busy and hectic.
Things were moderately better with that extremist group gone, but not all the hate-filled bigots of the world were gone. There were still a lot of them out there. It was getting better, slightly, and that was why I thought that it would be alright to ask Trevor if he was willing to add to our family now.
Suddenly, I spied someone that I didn’t often see around the castle. She was smiling and running right toward me, her arms already open and ready for a hug.
“Aunt Glory!” She squealed and called out to me. “I missed you.”
“It hasn’t been all that long since I saw you last, Acacia.” I hugged her, nonetheless.
“I know, Aunt Glory, but I still missed you. I always miss my family when they are not around.”
“I can understand that.” I gave her a bittersweet smile. “I have so much family that has spread now, and I miss them all.” Acacia had a large family filled with lots of nieces and nephews for me. For a while, they were the only family that I had, them and my brother Valerian. Now though, Riviana is here, Valerian’s great great great granddaughter, and he and I both found our mates and had children.
We’re happy, and that was all that mattered.
“So, Aunt Glory, I have wonderful news.” Acacia beamed at me as she spun us in a circle. “So, Cedar and I have an announcement. And while he isn’t here to make it with me, I am doing it on his behalf.” Cedar was likely getting to work again after all that had happened lately. I knew that it had messed up the training schedule that he had for the soldiers at the castle with Riviana.
“Really? And what news is this?” I asked her, my heart fluttering in excitement.
“We’re pregnant. Eee!” She squealed in delight. “It has been so long since we had a baby, well two in the last set. But all five of them are grown, or almost grown. And I am so happy to be adding to the family. We’re having triplets, according to Dietrich.
He told us before he left for his vacation. Two girls and a boy. We are going to name the girls Maple and Oak, and the boy is Sycamore. Eek! I am so excited, Aunt Glory. I had to come and tell my family, but I saw you first so I had to share it with you first.”
“Oh, Acacia, that is so wonderful. I am so excited for you and Cedar both. I love the names as well. And this balances you out, does it not? You already had three boys and two girls. Now you will have four of each.”
“Yes, you’re right.” She let go of me and put her hands on her belly as she looked down affectionately. She was glowing and smiling radiantly. She was beautiful and in her element at the moment. Acacia was a wonderful mother and I knew that she would take to this like a pro, even with the multiples.
I spoke with Acacia for a little longer about when she was due in November but would probably be early because of the multiples, and how the others felt about it all, they were excited. And while I did my best to remain as excited for her as I possibly could, because I was happy and excited about her news, it made me think about how badly that I wanted to have another baby.
Even if I had twins again, like I did the last time. I would just be twice as happy then.
Once I left the hall, and Acacia went on her way to her family’s home, I started to think about what I could do to get what I wanted. I mean, I was the Queen here. And that meant that I was technically in charge. Not that I over lorded my authority on my mate. I never wanted to be that kind of person.
There were ways of getting what I wanted though, without demanding it from him. I could just plan a date and see how things go. If it happened it happened, right? There was nothing that could be done once it was already happening.
