Chapter 889 – A Second Chance with My Billionaire Love

The two kept tugging at the box. Before Liam could finish talking, the box suddenly fell to the ground. The bright red wedding gown was spread on the ground like a blooming rose in front of everyone.

“Wow, what a beautiful wedding gown! The embroidery is exquisite! The dragon and phoenix look like they’re about to fly!” Leia was surprised by the exquisite wedding gown, her eyes wide. She immediately squatted down to take a closer look.

“Of course. It’s handmade.” Liam frowned with displeasure. He squatted down and carefully restored the wedding gown in the box. It looked like he cherished it very much.

“I guess Ms. Jenkins made this, didn’t she?” Flossie asked attentively.

Liam ignored her question, but his silence seemed to have given an affirmative answer. He hugged the box firmly.

When Flossie saw that, she pursed her lips, deeply moved. Liam was enjoying his single life for many years and never stopped for any woman. Now, it seemed he had fallen in love with Amber.

Liam was an unruly rich heir who loved freedom, while Amber was a pure and ignorant young woman. It seemed they were a perfect match.

“Why did she suddenly give you a wedding gown? Obviously, she wants to marry you. Are you sure you don’t want to say anything to her before leaving?” Xavier teased Liam, trying to sound the latter out.

Everyone could tell that Amber liked Liam. Besides, it seemed like Liam also fancied Amber. If they parted ways, they might never see each other again. Their romance might end with a failure. What a pity!

“There’s nothing to say to her.” Liam purposely looked aloof. “All I want is to get the hell out of here. I don’t even want to waste another second here.”

Then, he strode into the airport lobby.

Flossie quickened her pace and walked alongside him. She looked at him, feeling sorry for him. “Are you sure you’re going to leave like this?”

“I should long be gone.” Liam kept his coldness, his tone impassive. “If I don’t go now, I can’t leave forever.”

“Since she let you have this, Amber might be waiting for your answer. If you leave like this, she might get the wrong idea about you and make another choice. You two will miss the chance to be together…”

Flossie slowly analyzed the situation. Although she was just an onlooker, she found it a pity. “It’s not easy to meet someone who loves you back. Won’t you regret it if it falls through?”

“No, there’s nothing to regret,” Liam snorted, feigning indifference. “I don’t like her at all, let alone marry her. If I don’t go, Benjamin might start making a scene and insist on me marrying Amber. That would be more horrible!”

“Are you sure you don’t like her at all?” Flossie watched Liam hug the box tightly and shook her head helplessly. “If you don’t like her, you won’t value this wedding gown like this. I thought you wouldn’t even look at it!”

“I…” Liam stopped gripping the box tightly but maintained his indifference. “I don’t like this wedding gown. I just fancy handmade stuff. You have to admit that this wedding gown is made well. I should keep it properly.”

“Of course it’s done well, since she’d put in so much effort.”

Flossie looked far at the open and spacious airport. Planes were taking off and landing from time to time. It reminded her of human relationships people would meet and leave. No one would stop for anyone else.

Liam’s decision to leave decisively was an accurate one. It was better than getting entangled with Amber and ending up badly.

Flossie felt that she should learn from Liam. When her path was obstructed, she should make up her mind to take another path…

“Okay. It’s time for us to say goodbye.” Justin pointed at a small plane at the airport and looked at Flossie. “Phoenix and I are leaving for North City. Our destinations are different.

We’ll part here.”

“What? North City?” Leia was shocked. She yanked Flossie and hurriedly asked, “Why are you going to North City for no reason, Flossie? What are you going to do there? Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I’m sorry. It’s because…” After a pause, Flossie laughed at herself. “I just made up my mind, so I didn’t tell you in advance.”

Liam frowned and asked gloomily, “What happened? Why are you leaving for North City?” “Well, I’m going to meet Justin’s parents!” Flossie said lightly.

She had been to the Baldwin residence and met his parents, but it was different this time…

“What? You’re going to meet his parents?” Leia cried in agitation when she heard that.

She glared at Justin, then dragged Flossie to the side to interrogate the latter.

“What’s wrong with you, Flossie? Why are you marrying someone else just after one night?” Leia pausing, finding her words odd, then corrected herself. “Oh, no! Are you going to remarry?”

“Justin is a good man. His grandpa was my grandpa’s old comrade. Plus, his family is nice to me. And we survived this time because of the army Grandpa Baldwin gave me. I can’t be ungrateful,” Flossie said, her tone calm and cold.

Although it was ridiculous, Austin did give Flossie that army as a wedding gift. She used that gift at a critical time, which meant she had accepted the Baldwin family. Naturally, she had to take her relationship with Justin to another level.

“But…”

Leia frowned, feeling that Flossie was being impulsive.

“But you were forced to use that army under that circumstance. It wasn’t because you loved Justin that drove you to accept that army. This feels like you gave yourself to him because he helped you, but this logic doesn’t work in the world now. You don’t even love him! Are you sure you want to marry him? You guys are just fooling around and acting impulsively!”

Although Leia had never been married, she knew one could never take marriage lightly even if it was for the sake of gratitude.

Following Flossie’s logic, if a strange old man saved them, she would have to marry him.

“I got it! Did Justin force your hand or try to manipulate you?” Leia glared hostilely at Justin and said angrily, “I’ve always felt that he’s a bastard! He pretended to be a gentleman but was full of tricks. He must have tricked you, didn’t he?”

“No, he didn’t do that.” Flossie shook her head, filled with self-mockery. “He even asked me not to make this decision out of gratitude. He even…”

At that point, she suddenly stopped and couldn’t speak anymore.

It made Leia curious. She hurriedly questioned, “What do you mean? Did anything happen that I’m unaware of? Is that why you made such a decision impulsively?”

“No.” Flossie looked calm. “Nothing happened… Or, I can say that it’s the reason why I made this decision.”

“What do you mean?”

Leia scratched her head in confusion. She couldn’t figure it out, but she could tell that Flossie was not joking.

Her curiosity got the better of her as she asked carefully, “So, you’re going to meet Justin’s parents? Have you really…given up on Halston?”

Based on Leia’s understanding of Flossie, the latter was serious when it came to love. If she hadn’t given up on Halston, she wouldn’t have easily accepted another man or met that man’s parents, let alone married him.

However, Leia didn’t believe that Flossie would have given up on Halston. Based on their night chats a while ago, she could tell from Flossie’s tone that the latter was still confused about Halston and couldn’t part with him.

It wasn’t long ago, but now, Flossie wanted to marry someone else. It was abnormal.

“Yes, I did…” Flossie coldly looked ahead and added, “I did just now.”

“What?” Leia’s eyes went wide, and she didn’t stop questioning Flossie. “What happened just now? Nothing happened!”

“Let me be frank with you.” Flossie decided to be honest with Leia since Leia insisted on getting to the bottom of it. “Justin told me something the night he saved us. Halston informed him and asked him to come to our rescue.”

“I know that. And then?”

Leia had heard the same story from Justin. She and Liam kept cursing Halston for being a dirty coward all night long.

It was infuriating. Halston didn’t try to save his beloved woman, but made his rival in love do so instead. It seemed he had given up his beloved woman to someone else. It was unacceptable!

However, Flossie was not an ordinary person. She was a stubborn lovestruck fool.

Leia felt that this wasn’t the reason Flossie gave up on Halston and chose to be someone else. There must be another reason behind it.

“Then, Justin told Halston that he’d successfully rescued us. To be fair, he would give Halston time to take me away while we were leaving. If he doesn’t come when we’re leaving, he’ll take me to North City to see his parents. Anyway, Justin will never give up on me.”
