Chapter 884 – A Second Chance with My Billionaire Love

“Mm!” Flossie nodded. For the first time, she found him reliable. He wasn’t as thoughtless as she imagined.

Meanwhile, Leia did what Justin had anticipated. Her anxiety made her punch a trunk because a branch had hooked her hair.

“What a lousy tree! It has messy branches that grow everywhere! If Liam walks past here, this will poke his eyes…” While cursing the branch, she wiped away her tears. “Damn it! The whole world stands against me, even a branch! I’m miserable!”

“The branch didn’t stand against you, but you beat it up. I think the branch is miserable instead.”

Xavier, who followed her, saw her beat up a tree for no reason. It was an amusing sight.

“I didn’t ask you to follow me…” Leia snapped.

Leia quickly wiped away her tears and acted tough. “I’m crazy now. You shouldn’t talk to me.”

“So?” Xavier calmly walked to Leia and spoiled her as if she were a disobedient child. He doted on her. “It’s not the first day you act crazily. Plus, it’s not the first time I’ve found you like this. It’s not bad, either. You look pretty cute.”

Leia turned around and glared at him in confusion. Goosebumps spread across her skin. “Xavier, act normal. When did I act crazily?”

“You’re not always normal when you’re with me. Whenever I said something wrong, you went mad. You’d go mad whenever I talked to any woman, too. Isn’t that crazy enough?” Xavier spread his hands, sounding helpless.

Previously, he had no idea that the seemingly noisy and careless young lady of the Osborne family would be so sensitive. She cared about details very much, especially ones about him with other women.

Their arguments weren’t about serious issues. Rather, it was all because of her jealousy. She would go mad without hesitation.

As time passed by, Xavier got used to it. He thought it was the spice of their relationship. It also proved that he cared about her very much.

“It’s because I’m an idiot. I got mad over a playboy.” Leia admitted that she was prone to jealousy, but she hated herself for caring too much about Xavier. She had become the type of woman whom she looked down upon in the past.

“You aren’t an idiot or crazy. You’re just not confident enough.” Xavier saw through her and accurately pinpointed her least known flaw.

Outsiders found her to be an active, optimistic, and casual woman. She would never take anything seriously. Besides, she looked confident and superior.

However, Xavier knew that her outgoing and optimistic nature was just a pretense. She was in truth just a weak and sensitive woman with low self-esteem.

“You don’t have to compete against Flossie. You two are different, with unique strengths. There’s no competition between you two. You two are the champions in your world,” Xavier said gently. He had long wanted to spend some time to talk to Leia about Flossie. He knew Leia admired Flossie very much, and that he too had once admired Flossie.

As Xavier’s girlfriend, it was very hard for Leia not to care about such a bright figure. She couldn’t make herself neglect Flossie or compete against Flossie, which gave her low self-esteem.

Yet, Leia never wanted to compete against Flossie. She assumed that she was always worse than Flossie, and wasn’t even qualified to compete against Flossie.

If she ever fell out with Xavier because of Flossie, she assumed that she was the loser. She could do nothing else except mull over her anger.

“No!” Leia yelled. She shook her head. “Flossie is always the champion even in my world. Even if you still like her, I can accept it.”

“How silly!” Xavier felt sorry for Leia when he heard her words. He hugged her from behind and whispered, “I feel the same about Flossie like you do. I admire her and think she’s perfect, but I don’t love her the way a man does.”

“Really?” Leia was surprised.

She found it unbelievable, as she had always thought that Xavier loved Flossie.

She always felt that he was a man with great taste. His love for Flossie was unrequited, so he kept a special spot for her in his heart.

Since she was aware of that, she always avoided that topic and never asked him about Flossie. If she did, he would weigh their positions in his heart. Leia felt that she had no right to ask about that since the answer was obvious.

“Of course!” Xavier pinched Leia’s cheeks and smiled. “Men’s love can be divided into many types, but there’s only one kind of love for women. I love you like a man loves a woman. Do you understand?”

Leia’s heart started racing. She felt flattered, but she bit her lips carefully and asked, “Um… What’s that kind of love, then?”

“Let me think.”

Xavier hugged Leia gently as if he were hugging a naughty kitten who lacked confidence.

“The kind of love men have for women is full of too many complicated emotions,” he explained patiently. “Sometimes I feel like she’s my daughter, cute and naive. But she drives me mad when she’s naughty. Sometimes I feel like she’s my friend. We can talk about anything. We can have a great time and bicker with each other… But most of the time, I hope she’s part of my life. I hope we can face a lot of things together.

“Let me give you a simple example. If it’s the end of the world and I can only leave the Earth with a person, I’ll take you with me… This is the kind of love men have for women. Do you get it?”

He spoke passionately, and when was done, he turned Leia around. He looked at her with intense love shining in his eyes.

Leia blushed shyly. “I guess I do.”

Technically, it was the first time Xavier confessed his feelings for her in such a clear manner.

Previously, he would flirt with her and make jokes. Even if he said the most touching words, she would feel unreal. It seemed like an illusion.

Today, however, his words moved her. She greedily thought that probably he liked her even more than he liked Flossie.

Of course, she couldn’t be too greedy. Xavier was a famous playboy in Beach City, and no one knew if anything he said was true. His moving words were probably just a trick.

“What?”

It wasn’t easy for Xavier to seriously confess his feelings, but her reaction let him down. He held her face overbearingly.

“You need to believe that I love you very much. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have pestered you for such a long time. You know I’m a playboy and I easily get bored of a woman. But it seems like I never get sick of you. My love for you is always growing.”

“Oh, please!”

Leia rolled her eyes at Xavier; her gesture was far from romantic.

“We haven’t been together that long. Plus, you dated Shirley for a long time. You were famous in the entire Beach City over how hard you worked to win her over. She made you fall head over heels for her. But you’ve never made such a big scene when you’re dating me. People might even assume that you’re single!”

“Why did you bring up Shirley again?” Xavier held his forehead helplessly.

The scariest thing for a man was having his girlfriend repeatedly mention his ex. No matter what the man said, it would always end up in a fight.

“Why, can’t I bring her up?” Leia snapped.

Like a lot of women, Leia yearned to travel back in time and replace all the time Xavier had with his ex-girlfriend.

She said jealously, “You can’t forget about her, so you’re afraid of me mentioning her. You’re worried you might get exposed when I mention her.”

“No!” Xavier became impatient, his face looking awful. “I have many exes, and Shirley’s just one of them. If you want to bicker with me because of this, you’ll always be unhappy. Do you think that’s meaningful?”

“No, it’s meaningless.” Leia noticed Xavier’s impatience and pushed him away grumpily. Then, she walked to a more remote corner.

She knew he merely got excited and said something romantic to pacify her. In truth, he cared about many women and couldn’t care less about her. He must have cared about Shirley very much though she was just Flossie’s substitute, let alone Flossie, who was his first love.

Leia was always too busy to look into his various ex-girlfriends. If she did, she might find many things she would be jealous about; things he had never done for her.

None of them did anything wrong, but Leia knew she should never pick a playboy.

Liam was right—a playboy would never date only a woman. Since she dated one, she had to be mentally prepared. She had to be generous and tolerate his various ex-girlfriends.

Leia felt that she was stubborn and possessive. She couldn’t accept the fact that he had so many ex- girlfriends.

Though they had made peace and got along well, they couldn’t be happy forever.
