When the guard saw that, he hit the man’s head with his baton.
“Argh!” The man’s head was injured and started bleeding. He kept twitching from being electrocuted.
“Don’t touch him!” Flossie glared at the guard. “Let him through, or I’ll kill Lucas!”
‘Let him through! Now!” Lucas’ face was flushed. He was at Flossie’s mercy, utterly helpless.
The guard fiercely kicked the thin man to Flossie’s side. “Get lost! You’ll pay a heavy price for it by then!” When the rest saw that, they were moved.
“I… I want to go too!”
“And me! I want to go too!”
There were around seven to eight men and women.
Lucas found it unacceptable and glared fiercely at Flossie. “Motherfucker! Bitch, stop flattering yourself. You can just run away on your own, but you want to take my manpower too. You’re trying to ruin my business!”
“Is this business? This place is hell! You’ve ruined their lives!” Flossie snarled.
In the first place, she wasn’t a kind person. Most of the time, she would just protect herself. But after having a tour of the factory just now, she noticed how dispirited and dull those young people appeared. She couldn’t bear to leave them behind.
After all, she wanted to run away. She might as well help the others leave while at it. However, whether they could escape or not depended on themselves.
“Hmph! Do you think they’re wronged? Most of them came here willingly! They wanted a high salary and earned a lot of money. They stole across the border to come here even though they knew that it was scamming work. Do you think they’re innocent?” Lucas snorted disdainfully.
He never found his work immoral or felt that these people were innocent. They just took what they wanted from the deal.
‘I don’t care about their intentions, but they don’t want to work here anymore. You have no right to lock them up here.” Flossie kicked Lucas, sighing. “I can’t be bothered to talk with you so much… Let’s go!”
Thus, a group of people followed Flossie and Leia out of the factory.
The fighters watched from afar, too timid to run after them because of Lucas’ order. The youngsters who had gained freedom started running away.
Flossie, however, couldn’t walk quickly because she had to control Lucas.
She stopped and suggested to Leia, “Lei, we can’t run away given our speed. Why don’t you go first? I’ll wait for you to come back here.”
“I won’t leave you behind!” Leia refused firmly. “We insulted each other just now to run away. I’m already feeling very guilty about it. But you want me to run away on my own and leave you in such a dangerous and hellish place? I’ll kill myself if anything happens to you!”
They had been best friends for so many years, but they put on a show by cursing each other in the basement just now to make Lucas let down his guard.
Although it was just an act, Leia found her words too harsh. She had already chided herself inwardly, overwhelmed by deep guilt. She had yet to calm down, but now, Flossie asked her to run away first.
She could never do that!
“Don’t take it to heart. I want you to get people who can help us. If you stay, we can’t run far with this guy here. Plus, I’m a little tired from controlling him this long. I can’t be sure how long I can control him,” Flossie said helplessly.
She could still focus on gripping the back of Lucas’ neck to keep herself safe, but she was just a human. Maintaining this posture for too long would take a toll on her. She found it hard to hold on.
Besides, Lucas was cunning. He might make a counterattack at any minute. Flossie didn’t want to take such a risk. “But…but… Leia found Flossie’s words logical, but couldn’t make up her mind. She couldn’t leave Flossie behind. ‘Stop hesitating. If you do, you’ll put both of us in trouble!” Flossie wasn’t trying to scare Leia, but her wrist was already numb. She was nearing her limit.
“Hurry up!” she urged Leia fiercely.
“Okay, wait for me! I’ll be back soon!”
After weighing the pros and cons, Leia gnashed her teeth and left first. She wanted to get in touch with Liam as soon as possible.
If she couldn’t, she and Flossie would fail to escape…
Thus, Flossie and Leia parted ways.
After more than ten minutes, Lucas was tired too. He said helplessly, “Hey, I think you should stop now. Do you want to keep torturing me until nightfall?”
“I think so too, but can you let us go?” Flossie asked.
Her arm was so sore, it was about to break. Luckily, she had practiced martial arts for many years. If not, any three-year-old child could defeat her easily, let alone control Lucas.

Lucas glanced at the gradually darkened sky expressionlessly. He never felt that he had done anything wrong. On the contrary, he saw himself as a very kind person.

Then, Flossie exhausted her force to punch the back of Lucas’ neck. His eyes rolled up, and he fainted.
Flossie quickly searched his body and found a gun, a pass card, and a phone. She took them all, then tied the unconscious Lucas around a tree just to be safe.
It was getting dark, so Flossie couldn’t see the road ahead well. She used some means to crack the password of Lucas’ phone. Then, she turned on the map app and walked out using it.
The map showed that her current spot was not far from Liam’s fort, just around six miles. It was a twenty-minute car ride, but she would need a few hours to walk there.
Although it was far, she had to walk. The problem was, she didn’t know where Leia had gone. She could only pray that Leia had successfully escaped.
After running frantically for a while, she was about to leave the factory area. Suddenly, she stepped on something. A sharp claw-like thing clamped her left foot.
“Ah!” Flossie felt a sharp pain. She looked down and found her ankle bleeding-she was trapped by a beast trap. “Hey, I got a lot today! This prey is mine!”
Suddenly, a group of people ran out of the dark comer of a bush and surrounded Flossie.
“Who…are you?’ Flossie asked them as she touched her aching foot, sweating profusely.
They were dressed like the typical local people, with special feathers on their heads. They might belong to a primitive tribe.
In a remote country like this, there were many secluded tribes within secluded villages. The people there neither went to school nor worked. They were also not under the jurisdiction of the local government. They fended for themselves and kept the same lifestyles and social habits as hundreds of years ago.
The fort where Liam was could be considered a tribe too, but Benjamin established that tribe later on, so it was more advanced. Besides, it came with its military power. It was different from the tribe that was passed down for hundreds of years.
“Hey, my prey is plump! I’m the champion today! We’ll have a great feast!”
The man in the lead was wearing a vest made of animal skin, a grass skirt, and a pair of grass-woven slippers. He danced excitedly in front of Flossie, while the others cheered him on.
Flabbergasted, Flossie had no idea what they were talking about. She also couldn’t understand their dance. Terror gripped her hard. She found them more frightening than Lucas.
At least she could converse with Lucas. These people, however, were no different than animals despite looking like human beings.
As an injured person, Flossie could foresee her ending after running into a group of fierce animals.
Another man reminded the guy who was dancing happily, “Tie her up. She’s such a plump prey. We can’t let her run away. I’m sure the chief will be very happy!”
The man grinned ferociously. “Yes, tie her up. I want to show off by walking along the entire village!”
A few people rushed over and tied Flossie up.
