Xavier said abruptly, then leaped into the backseat of the pickup.
“You’re out of your mind!”
When Leia noticed how insistent he was, she gritted her teeth and said nothing, but her wild driving made it obvious that she was furious.
Xavier had quite a bumpy ride in the backseat.It was quite a challenge for him since he always rode in luxurious sports cars.
“Mr.Stuart, hold on tight.These mountain roads are rugged, so don’t fall out of the car!”
Adam yelled at Xavier as he gripped the car railing tightly.
Xavier was speechless.His thick dark hair had become messy because of the wind, and it made him look even more attractive.
“Who is Santiago?” Xavier finally asked Adam, unable to contain his curiosity.
“Santiago is an actor, Mr.Stuart, and a very good one at that.He keeps a low profile and only appears while shooting films, so it’s normal that you don’t know him,” Adam said loudly over the roaring wind, grinning widely at Xavier.
“An actor?”
When Xavier heard that, he felt even more frustrated.
“How old is he? What does he look like? What kind of man is he?”
“I guess he’s two or three years younger than you.He’s very handsome, and was definitely born to be an actor.He’s a refined, melancholic Prince Charming.He’s very attractive, so he has a lot of loyal fans even though he keeps a low profile.Miss Osborne is also a fan of his.She agreed to be our fixed guest just to shoot the show with him.”
Adam enthusiastically chatted with Xavier, failing to notice his crestfallen expression.
Leia could not hear what they were talking about in the backseat because of the loud engine.
Suddenly, she stopped the car and got out quickly.
“The wildflowers by the road are so pretty.I want to pick some for Mr.Dalton.It’s the first time I’m meeting him, so I have to give him a gift.”
While talking, Leia leaned down and started picking some of the colorful wildflowers by the road.
The wildflowers swayed in the wind under the bright sunlight, creating a very beautiful scene.
Xavier grew more upset, and growled at her, “Don’t you know that we can’t pick wildflowers by the road? What a terrible citizen.”
Leia had picked a small bouquet, and used grass to tie them up carefully.
She glared at him and said, “Don’t you know that the more wildflowers you pick, the more will grow? It’s better to look ahead instead of fixating on a tree that yields no fruit.I can pick whatever flowers I want, and I’m in a great mood!”
Adam wiped away his sweat anxiously.
‘l don’t think they’re talking about flowers anymore..”
Eventually, they reached the entrance of the village.
A tall man in a white shirt, sunglasses, and black trousers was standing quietly under a banyan tree.His features were charming and he exuded a melancholic aura.
When the breeze ruffled his hair, he looked like a model posing for a shot.
“Mister…Mr.Dalton!”
Leia stammered as she sat in the pickup, holding the bouquet of wildflowers.She did not dare to get out of the car.
Xavier had never seen such a shy look on her, so he was very jealous.
Scowling, he shouted at Santiago, “Hey, there’s a lovestruck fool waiting here for you!”
When Santiago heard Xavier, he looked over and smiled.He strode toward them, staring at Leia curiously.
“Oh, my! I’m so nervous!”
Leia’s heart was pounding, and she blushed, unable to look at him.
Santiago walked over to Leia and tilted his head, smiling boyishly at her.
“Are you Miss Leia Osborne, the young lady Mr.Jiminez finds interesting?”
“Ah, yes…That’s me!”
Leia looked up at him shyly, struck dumb when she met his bright gaze.She sighed dreamily.
‘ He’s so handsome…TV doesn’t do him justice! He’s so perfect and charming that I can’t look away.”
“I hope we’ll work together well.”
Santiago extended his hand to her, a warm smile on his face.
Leia held his hand with trepidation, and felt her heart flutter when her sweaty palm touched his cool skin and slender fingers.She decided not to wash her hand for a week.
“Yes, I hope so too!” Leia said nervously, then immediately handed the bouquet to him.
“These are wildflowers I picked by the road.It’s…for you.I hope your future is as free and bountiful as these wildflowers.”
“Wildflowers?”
Santiago took the bouquet from her and sniffed it.He broke into a happy smile, looking charming amidst the beautiful wildflowers.
“I’ve gotten many bouquets before, but this is the first time someone’s given me wildflowers.They’re beautiful, and I like them very much.Thank you.”
“It’s nothing big.I’m glad you like it.If you want, I can go up the hill and pick them for you every day.”
Leia scratched her head awkwardly and grinned.
Xavier sat at the back and watched their conversation with narrowed eyes.He was so angry that he felt like smashing the car.He asked Adam coldly, “Didn’t you say he keeps a low profile? He seems to be quite skilled at flirting with women; I feel inferior to him even though I’m a playboy.He’s not at all low- key and melancholic.”
Adam retreated awkwardly.
“Santi is indeed a low-key person, but he’s very nice to his fans and he likes interesting people.Miss Osborne is so special and cute, so not only Lily, I, and the others like her very much, Santi does too.”
“She’s cute?”
Xavier glanced at Leia, who was blushing and smiling happily.He scoffed, “You think a tomboy like her is cute? All of you must be blind.”
Leia and Santiago got close to each other very fast.
She was a people person, and after she got over her initial nervousness, she spoke enthusiastically to an amused Santiago like they were long-lost friends.
“Mr.Dalton, are you thirsty? I’ll buy you some water,” Leia asked Santiago kindly.
