Chapter 604 – A Second Chance with My Billionaire Love

Now, it seemed like her suggestion was exactly what Xavier wanted. When the time came, she was sure he would return the favor too.

That was how the entertainment industry worked.

“Miss Anderson, it seems like the rumor is true. Universal Entertainment does want to support another person, and Mr. Stuart clearly likes this woman very much. Maybe he brought her here to expose her to the public. Let’s include them in the shooting tomorrow and make her popular.”

“Great idea!” Lily said enthusiastically. “I don’t care who Shirley’s new supporter is, but she can’t rely on her old supporter now. We just need to curry favor with Xavier and help get him together with Miss Osborne.”

“Oh, I’m good at that. Leave it to me!”

They happily decided to focus the next few days of shooting on the two. They wanted to make Leia popular and help her get with Xavier.

Eventually, Xavier and Leia were the only ones left in the yard. They were still arguing about the sleeping arrangements.

“Xavier, you’re a man, and I’m a woman. It’s inappropriate for us to stay in the same room, so I suggest you stay in the cowshed. I can help you set up the bed,” Leia said seriously.

Xavier looked at her helplessly. “Why should I stay in the cowshed? What if the cows attack me while I’m asleep? You can go and stay there. I don’t want to.” While talking, he shamelessly walked into the only guest room.

“Ugh, you’re really not a gentleman! I’m a woman, you know. What happens to my privacy if I stay in the cowshed?”

While complaining, Leia hurried to follow Xavier.

The only bedroom looked rather ordinary. There was an old wooden bed, and although there was a new mattress on it, the room had bumpy floors and a leaking roof. It was not much better than the cowshed. The most horrible thing was that one had to use the water prepared in the tank for washing up-there was no tap water or hot water. Water had to be boiled on the spot if one wanted to take a bath and wash their face. It was extremely inconvenient.

“I get why Shirley did that now…” Leia swallowed. “We can’t blame her for being a diva. It’s not easy to stay here.”

“I think this place is pretty good.” Xavier accepted his fate and flopped down onto the bed leisurely. He put his arms under his head and smiled contentedly. “The bed is rather soft, and we can look at the stars. How romantic!”

“Is that so? Coincidentally, I’m allergic to romance,” Leia said grumpily. She pulled a chair over and sat down on it cross-legged, as if she was meditating. “Leave me alone. Life is a journey of self-cultivation, so I’ll stay like this tonight.”

Xavier noticed how miserable she looked, and smiled at her warmly. “Just tolerate it since you’re here. As long as we’re together, it’ll be alright. Even hell seems like heaven this way.

“Ugh! I haven’t eaten. Don’t disgust me.” Leia rolled her eyes and turned to look at him. She could not figure out when he became so corny.

Xavier remained silent before he sat up in bed. “Do you want to wash up? I’ll boil some water for you.”

“Yes, I do.” Leia nodded. “Boil more water for me so I can take a bath and wash my hair too.”

“Okay.” Xavier agreed to it, behaving like a considerate and reliable boyfriend. He knew that the conditions here were difficult. Leia was a rich, young lady who grew up like a princess, so it was probably quite tough on her.

He could only try his best to make her more comfortable.

Xavier came to the kitchen and used a silver lighter to light up the firewood to boil water. As the fire burned, the thick smoke that billowed out of it choked him until his eyes watered. After some time, he finally managed to boil some water.

“It’s ready. Go ahead and take a bath. I’ll go out and smoke.” Xavier carried a large bucket of water to the room, then politely retreated.

“Are you sad? Why are you crying?” Leia saw how red and watery his eyes were, and felt sorry for him. But at the same time, the situation was also pretty amusing.

“I’m not crying! It’s because I burned the firewood. Aren’t you moved by my dedication and gentlemanliness?”

“Yes, I’m moved. You’re indeed here to suffer.” Leia fought back a smile and patted his shoulders. “Although you’re a beast most of the time, sometimes you look like a human too. I’ll remember this favor and repay you when I get the chance.”

“You can repay me now!” Xavier took a step forward, looking determined. “You just need to repay me with your body.” He felt that both he and Leia were too pretentious. They cared about each other, but they made things so complicated. After holding himself back for a day, he decided to be honest and confess his feelings.

“Get lost!” Leia knew that he could never speak nicely. After she drove him out of the room, she quickly locked the door. She was a bit tired after the shower, so she decided to rest early that night.

She had to battle against Shirley the next day.

Leia woke up a few hours later, and felt rather sorry for him. She opened the door, and as expected, saw him squatting outside the door pitifully. He looked like a homeless puppy.

“You’re awake?” Xavier looked up, his eyes watery.

Leia looked at him, half expecting him to burst into tears. She sighed and said, “Forget it. Go and sleep in the room. I’ll sleep in the cow shed.” After all, she was a tough woman. She could handle sleeping in the cowshed, but it was cruel to ask a rich young heir like Xavier to sleep there.

“Thanks!” Xavier did not hesitate at all, and dashed into the room eagerly. Gone was his pitiful act and puppy dog eyes.

‘Leia Osborne, you’re a fool! He tricked you!’ Leia cursed silently as she returned to the room to take a clean blanket and pillow.

Before Leia could head to the cowshed, Xavier closed the door and hugged her from behind. “Stop messing around, this bed is large enough for the both of us. If you think it’s cramped, I’ll just hug you and sleep.”

“Xavier, let go of me. Don’t be ridiculous.”

“I’m serious, Leia. We have slept together before, and I promise that I’ll only hug you.” Xavier raised his hand and swore solemnly.

Leia pursed her lips. “Maybe you can promise not to do anything, but I can’t… We’ve already broken up with each other, so we should keep some distance from each other. If not, things will go back to the way they were.” She knew him, and she knew herself. In the past, they had also argued and wanted to break up, but they somehow slept together and made up with each other right after. Xavier always said that they would never break up because of it, and even if they did fight, they could always solve it by sleeping together.

But Leia didn’t want to make the same mistakes again.

They would never resolve their issues if they did, and those problems would just come back to haunt them. Inevitably, she would only get hurt again if this vicious cycle continued.

“Don’t promise me if you can’t. Just sleep with me, and see me as something to use. I’m not asking you for money or to take responsibility for it.” While talking, Xavier started to kiss her neck, and his hands reached out to unbutton her clothes. “Stop!”

Leia stopped Xavier from going further, and said quietly, “If you do this, I’ll just be like all the other women you’ve dated. You’ll just use me to sate your lust, and leave me when you get bored. It makes me feel cheap.”

They had said that during their previous fight. She knew that it had been said out of spite, but her heart ached every time she thought about it.

“But I’ll never get bored of you…’1 Xavier murmured hoarsely. He closed his eyes and touched her skin, allowing his instincts to guide him. He had to admit that even though their relationship wasn’t deep, their bodies were compatible. He didn’t want to give her up so easily because of that.

“You’re still talking nonsense. Don’t you realize that it matters to me? Don’t you think you should discuss it with me? Or am I just a tool to you, so you feel you don’t have to waste your time talking to me?” Unable to stand it, Leia pushed him away and asked him, her eyes watery.

She was reluctant to accept that they had broken up, and wanted to talk it out with him, but he always seemed unconcerned. Unfortunately, they had never really discussed the issue properly, and she couldn’t forget about him. This trip had given them the perfect opportunity to talk it out, but he was not taking it seriously as usual. He only wanted to sleep with her, which she couldn’t accept.

Xavier became annoyed as he said coldly, “Leia, can you stop being so pretentious? Does it matter why I date you? It’s fine as long as we’re happy. If I’m infatuated with your body, it means that I’m infatuated with you too. It’s not like our souls are nobler than our bodies.” He liked things to be simple, and this relationship was very complicated. He had never sincerely dated women in the past, so he would only stay with them if they were physically compatible. If they weren’t, they would break up. He never really got attached, and to him, that was easy and straightforward.

But it seemed that it would not work with Leia that way. Both of them wanted more, but deep down, he couldn’t adjust to it. So, they always fell out with each other because of their differing expectations.

Shirley was just a catalyst; the main thing affecting their relationship was yet to be resolved.

“All women want their men to love their souls because bodies can be replaced. Only souls are unique and can last forever!” Leia argued, tears running down her cheeks. She wished that Xavier could love her for who she was on the inside too. Although she felt like she was ordinary and boring, she wanted to be special to someone.

“Then I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed. I won’t fall for anybody’s soul. It’s too much for me to handle,” Xavier answered bluntly. His words were cruel, but he was telling the truth. A relationship like that was deep and serious, and it might be one that lasted forever… He had yet to think of his future.

“You’re lying. You love Shirley’s soul, so you’re willing to sacrifice for her even after so many years. You’ve got no energy left in you to love another’s soul because you’re still in love with hers. So, you’re lying when you say that you can’t fall in love with my soul,” Leia said sharply.

“Whatever!” Xavier could not be bothered to explain, and decided to go to sleep. ‘Tsk! She’s so meddlesome. What got into me? Why did I follow her here? Whatever! I’ll leave early tomorrow morning. I don’t care how pretentious she is!

Leia was enraged by his response. She grabbed a blanket and pillow then stormed off towards the cowshed. ‘Hmph! I’d rather sleep with cows than with a scumbag like you!’ She gritted her teeth as she thought so. However, when she arrived at the cowshed, she found that the rich smell of cows, cow manure, and grass was too much for her. She soon returned to the room.

At the moment, Xavier was sound asleep.

“Sleep on the floor, damn it!” Leia threw the blanket and pillow on him before she kicked him onto the floor.

Satisfied, she got onto the bed.
