“Miss Mayo, I’m glad that you’ve been accompanying my son during this time. I’ve also seen the news on the internet. It seems like my son treats you well.”

“Mrs. Weiss, we genuinely care for each other.” Harmony lifted her head, determined to fight for her love.

Sophia took a sip of her coffee, her expression becoming somewhat calmer. “I know you’re the first girl my son has ever liked.”

“So, Mrs. Weiss, can you allow us to be together?” Harmony couldn’t help but ask again.

“Miss Mayo, I came here to ask you to leave my son.” Sophia didn’t beat around the bush anymore.

She didn’t need to use harsh words towards a girl; she just needed to achieve her goal.

“I will give you 50 million as compensation. I know it’s a bit less for your profession, but I think it should be enough.” Sophia said, her mind filled with Harmony’s scandalous photos. She wondered if this girl had ever considered whether a man she liked would come into her life when she agreed to take those photos, whether the man and his family would accept her.

So, although Sophia felt some sympathy for Harmony, she still doubted Harmony’s character and morality.

Harmony still wanted to fight for her feelings, even if she ultimately failed, but she didn’t expect Sophia to be so clear. She didn’t want her to be with Ezekiel.

“May I ask, Mrs. Weiss, is it because of my background?” Harmony bit her lip, her eyes moist because this was something she could never change.

Sophia thought for a moment and shook her head. “No, it has nothing to do with your background.”

“I know I was born poor. I’m not worthy of Ezekiel.” Harmony pursed her lips, holding back her tears.

Sophia continued to shake her head, comforting her. “No, Miss Mayo, please don’t think like that. It’s not because of your birth. After all, when I married Ezekiel’s father, there was a huge gap between us.

This is not the reason I’m stopping you two from being together.” Sophia spoke truthfully.

Harmony looked up in surprise. “Can I ask what the reason is?”

Sophia thought for a moment and decided not to mention the photos to hurt her. “I can’t tell you the reason, Miss Mayo. Please leave Ezekiel. I hope you won’t make it difficult for me as a mother.”

Harmony loved Ezekiel so much; she certainly didn’t want to hurt his family. If this was her fate, she would accept it.

“Thank you, Mrs. Weiss, for taking the time to see me. I will do as you say. I won’t bother Ezekiel anymore. I will… I will leave him and let him have a happier future.” As Harmony spoke, tears fell uncontrollably. She wiped them away, only to find more tears welling up.

Just then, someone handed her a tissue. She took it and looked up to see a pair of gentle eyes looking at her. She suddenly understood that it wasn’t Sophia who was making things difficult for her, but she was making things difficult for Sophia!

Because her appearance had caused trouble, it was her fault. It had nothing to do with Sophia. All of this was just something she shouldn’t have hoped for.

“I’m sorry, I lost my composure,” Harmony said, holding back her tears.

“Miss Mayo, I’m sorry,” Sophia said and gave Harmony a bank card she had prepared. This card contained the five million she had deposited, which was her compensation to Harmony.

She was also grateful for the happiness Ezekiel had experienced during this time.

Harmony shook her head and pushed the bank card back to Sophia. “I won’t take it, Mrs. Weiss.

Ezekiel has helped me a lot during this time, and I’m already very content. I can’t take your money.

Rest assured, I will leave him for sure”

With that, Harmony stood up, bowed to Sophia, and left. Sophia watched her figure from behind. This meeting left a good impression on her.

If it weren’t for those photos constantly hindering her, she might have grown to like this girl. But… she just couldn’t get past this hurdle.

After leaving the cafe, Harmony hid in the restroom. She still couldn’t calm down. She covered her mouth, suppressing her sobs. Just then, her phone rang. She picked it up and answered it as if she had seen a lifesaver. “Sera, can you come pick me up, please?”

Upon hearing Harmony’s sobbing, Sera, on the other end of the line, was taken aback. “What’s wrong?

Why are you crying so much? Where are you? I’m coming over.”

Harmony gave her the address. When Sera arrived, she handed her a hat and a mask because

Harmony couldn’t be seen in this state. She was currently in the eye of the storm in the entertainment industry, and any news could potentially ruin her reputation.

Once in the car, Sera initially wanted to scold Harmony for hiding in the bathroom and crying like this, but she ended up feeling more sympathy for her.

“Tell me, what happened? Did Ezekiel hurt you?”

“No… I came out today to meet his mother.” Harmony calmed down a bit, but her eyes were already swollen from crying.

Upon hearing this, Sera could roughly guess what had happened, but she still asked for confirmation,

“Did Mrs. Weiss ask you to leave Ezekiel?”

Harmony didn’t answer, but her tears did. Sera sighed, “I had a feeling this would happen. Even though

Ezekiel loves you very much, his background is too privileged. He’s not someone an ordinary girl can match. Harmony, you need to be strong. You need to face this with the optimistic attitude you had before.”

Harmony choked out, “I thought I could be strong, just like when Reuben left. I was able to move on in less than a day. But with Ezekiel… can’t move on. Sera, please help me!”

She couldn’t help bursting into tears again.

Sera gently patted her. “How can I help you? This is something you have to deal with on your own.”

“I love him, I really love him. Not his money, but him as a person.” Harmony said truthfully.

Sera knew her well. If it were any other girl saying this, she would have doubted it. But she knew

Harmony wasn’t a gold digger. So, she believed that Harmony truly loved Ezekiel.

“I know, and I believe that you love him for who he is. But the reality is, he’s not someone you can be with. Loving someone also requires compatibility.” Sera said somewhat coldly. She had to wake

Harmony up at this time and couldn’t let her wallow in pain. She wanted to lift the young woman up.

Harmony closed her eyes, tears streaming down her face. Just then, Sera received a phone call. After a few words, she hung up and turned to Harmony, “Harmony, there’s an opportunity for you to get away for a while.”

Harmony opened her eyes to look at her. “Is it another job?”
