Harley’s hurried footsteps looked as if he was about to escape something.
“Are you tired? Do you want to go rest for a while? “A low and hoarse voice rang in her ear.
Tina turned her head and saw Chandler walking to her side at an unknown time: “No, I’m not tired yet.”
“If you’re tired, just say hello to the Quentin family and you can leave early, “Chandler said.
“Okay, “Tina smiled sweetly.
She knew that he was worried about her physical condition.
Suddenly, she reached out her hand and hugged his waist, burying her face in his chest.
“Tina? “Chandler paused for a moment, surprised by her sudden move.” There are many people here now, you…”
“So what? Anyway, we’re husband and wife, so it’s just a good time for those people to see how good our relationship is now, “Tina whispered.
Chandler smiled helplessly, but Tina hugged him like this.
Anyway, as long as it’s what she wants to do, he will agree and accompany her.
And around them, there were indeed many people looking sideways at them.
“Chandler, thank you, “Tina suddenly whispered.
“Thank me? Why do you want to thank me? “Chandler raised his eyebrows.
“Thank you for not giving up on loving me, “Tina said, knowing that even when he agreed to divorce and even signed the divorce agreement, he still loved her.
He has always been thinking for her, afraid of binding her down, afraid of her unwillingness.
In this world, there can be someone who loves herself like this, and she also loves them, she thought, she is really lucky!
“Because you’re worth it, “Chandler said.
It was she who slowly opened up his heart and made him love her more and more.
In his heart, he was complaining about the unfairness of fate, and it was her smile and those words full of sunshine and warmth that made him change from resenting fate to being grateful for it.
Thanks to fate, he met her and tied them together.
“I love you, Chandler! “Tina looked up and looked seriously at the person in front of her.
The more you truly understand him, the deeper you will love him.
“I love you too, Tina, “Chandler replied.
How could she not love her like this!
“So, I want to get pregnant quickly, okay? “Tina suddenly coquettishly said to Chandler.
Chandler frowned and said, “Didn’t we agree to wait a year until your health improves before you get pregnant?”
Tina is a bit disappointed.
I can only blame Lornell’s medication for its poor efficacy. I used it at the time, but I didn’t conceive a child.
Now she can only wait for a year, but she hopes to help him earlier and make him no longer suffer so much!
“Yep, I’ll definitely keep myself safe!” Tina replied.
Because she understood better than anyone else, that her own safety also meant Chandler’s safety.
It wasn’t just because of the magical creature within him, but more so because he loved her!
If anything were to happen to her, this man would probably find it hard to go on living!
Tina really wished she could regain her lost memories!
Harley stepped out to the small garden outside the banquet hall for some fresh air.
Today is the Quentin family’s banquet. As the most outstanding among the younger generation of the
Quentin family, Lornell naturally attracts a lot of attention.
But the more people’s gazes fell on Lornell, the more Harley felt a sense of embarrassment.
Simply because the person standing next to Lornell wasn’t her!
How many people who attended the banquet that day were secretly mocking her in their hearts?
Just then, footsteps echoed from behind Harley.
Harley turned around, surprisingly finding Ursula there.
Shouldn’t she have been by Lornell’s side? Why was she here? A question flashed through Harley’s mind.
Ursula began, “Hello, Miss Hart.”
“Hello,” Harley replied, “Can I help you with something?”
The look in Ursula’s eyes at that moment made it clear to Harley that she must have come specifically to find her.
“Is Miss Hart really planning to keep this up?” Ursula asked.
Harley squinted slightly.
Ursula chuckled, continuing, “Lornell doesn’t love you, and I think Miss Hart is well aware of that. Miss
Hart, you’re a catch yourself, so why insist on keeping this engagement? Lornell is just a kind soul. He was forced to propose to you years ago to save your life, but you’ve been using this engagement to tie him down ever since. Don’t you think that’s a bit selfish?”
Harley stared at Ursula, his voice icy as he asked, “And in what capacity are you here, telling me all this?”
“Why so angry, Miss Hart? I’m just an observer, trying to advise Miss Hart…”
Before Ursula could finish her sentence, Harley interrupted her, “And what gives you the right to advise me?”
Ursula’s face turned slightly unpleasant.
“Miss Snider, I’m not upset, but I just want to clarify, what exactly is your role, and what gives you the right to advise? Your last name is Snider, not Quentin or Hart. In the end, you’re just a distant relative of the Quentin family. Now you’re discussing my engagement with Lornell in front of me. Don’t you think you’re overstepping?”
“I was just trying to be nice, I didn’t expect you to misunderstand, Miss Hart,” Ursula quickly defended herself.
“So, you’re being kind?” Harley sneered, “Well, it just so happens that members of the Quentin family and the Hart family are here today. After the banquet, my parents and I will find the Quentin family members and share your ‘kindness’ with them. Let’s see how they interpret your ‘kindness’.”
Ursula’s face instantly turned pale: “You…”
“Miss Snider, don’t forget my last name is Hart!” Harley said, before turning around and walking away.
However, just as she took a few steps, she saw Lornell standing off to the side at the garden exit.
It seemed like Lornell had been standing there for a while.
So, how much of her conversation with Ursula did he actually hear?
Harley suddenly felt a pang of disappointment. Lornell clearly had no intention of helping her. Even when Ursula was targeting her just now, Lornell merely stood by as a spectator.
A faint smile suddenly played at the corners of Harley’s mouth. It was a shallow one, tinged with a hint of self-mockery and a touch of loss. Then, without saying a word, she simply passed by Lornell’s side.
Lornell’s brow furrowed slightly, a strange feeling spreading in his heart until he watched Harley’s figure disappear from his sight.
“Lornell, what are you doing here…” Ursula’s voice, tinged with a hint of panic, echoed behind Lornell.
Lornell turned around, his gaze falling on Ursula.
This gaze gave Ursula a chilling sense of fear as if some conspiracy had been seen through.
“Harley’s right,” Lornell said. “This is a marriage agreement between the Quentin family and the Hart family. You have no right to interfere. I hope you won’t make such thoughtless comments in the future.”
Ursula’s face instantly turned ashen. Seeing Lornell about to leave, she quickly took two steps forward and grabbed his sleeve. “I was just telling the truth, is that wrong? I just don’t want you to be unhappy!
You only got into this marriage to save someone, why should you be trapped in it?”
“What does my happiness or lack thereof have to do with you?” Lornell said coldly, his gaze falling icily on the hand clutching his sleeve. “Let go!”
Ursula shivered, finally letting go of Lornell’s sleeve.
Lornell’s words were so indifferent as if she had no connection with him at all.
However, Ursula couldn’t accept it. Lornell had always treated her well before, even letting her stand by his side, taking Harley’s place and chatting with others. Why was he so indifferent now?
Was it because of what she had just said? Or was it because of Harley?
“Because I like you!” Ursula said, “When you like someone, you naturally wish for their happiness!”
Ursula also took this opportunity to clearly express her feelings.
But Lornell’s gaze at her remained icy cold.
Lornell snorted coldly, mockingly retorting, “And how would you know if I’m not happy?”
“You don’t even love Harley, how can you be happy!” Ursula said, “If you’re going to get married, of course, you should find someone you love! Only a marriage based on love can bring happiness!”
“So, do you really think I would fall in love with you?” Lornell said.
A look of embarrassment flashed across Ursula’s face!
Ursula, of course, felt that Lornell had a fondness for her. Even if it hadn’t reached the point of love, she believed that as long as they continued, he would eventually fall in love with her.
But how could she possibly have said such a thing herself!
And so, Ursula could only have awkwardly said, “I know, you don’t love me, but…”
However, before she could finish her words, Lornell interrupted her, “You’re right, I don’t love you, so you don’t need to waste your thoughts on me.”
“So, do you love Harley?” Ursula asked.
“I don’t love.” Lornell’s answer was so straightforward.
A flash of joy crossed Ursula’s face, but in the next moment, her joy seemed to freeze in place.
