On Lornell’s usually indifferent face, a rare expression of shock appeared.
”
‘So you have an engagement because of the parasit пе
asked.
“Yes,” she replied.
“Then what is the method to cure the parasites?” he stared at her.
“I can tell you the method to remove the curse, and even provide support after I remove the curse from
Chandler, to facilitate the Quentin family’s research. But you must allow me to enter the Quentin family and help me remove the curse from Chandler,” Tina laid out her conditions.
Lornell listened to the conditions Tina proposed and found them quite unexpected. He hadn’t thought that Tina would propose such conditions.
“I can let you enter the Quentin family, but if you can remove the curse, why do you need my help?”
Lornell asked in response.
A hint of embarrassment flashed across Tina’s face. “To remove the curse, I need to give birth to a child with him and use the umbilical cord blood and placenta. The Quentin family should have good means to ensure a successful pregnancy.”
Lornell raised an eyebrow. Was she asking the Quentin family for help in ensuring a successful pregnancy?
“And also…” Tina’s expression became even more embarrassed. “Having a child is something that requires two people to accomplish. If Chandler is not willing, you have to help me convince him.
“What do you mean?” Lornell frowned.
“You Quentin family must have some kind of drug to make Chandler have a sexual relationship with me. But it has to be guaranteed that using that kind of drug won’t have any effect on the child when I get pregnant,” Tina said.
Lornell didn’t expect Tina to say such words directly.
His lips twitched, “I do have such medicine, but are you sure you really want to use it on Chandler? If he doesn’t want it and you force him to take it, aren’t you afraid he will be angry afterward?”
“Being angry is still better than the parasite continuing to threaten his life,” Tina said. As long as she could solve the hidden dangers of the parasite and prevent him from experiencing the pain she had seen before.
If he gets angry, she can bear it.
Lornell suddenly chuckled, “You said that really made me think you’ve regained your memory. It feels like you’re in love with Chandler or something.”
“I do love him!” Tina confessed.
Lornell’s eyes flickered, “If you love him, then why do you want to divorce him?”
“We haven’t divorced yet, so I’m still his wife!” Tina corrected.
Lornell was taken aback, “Not divorced? But…”
“We did sign a divorce agreement, but I didn’t go through with the procedures, so legally, said.
“If that’s the case, then why did you sign a divorce agreement with Chandler? Is it some kind of game for you?” Lornell said coldly.
A touch of sadness flashed in Tina’s eyes, “I guess it’s because I realized my true feelings too late.”
At this point, Tina’s gaze fell directly on the other person, “And what about you? Do you understand your own heart?”
Lornell raised an eyebrow slightly, “What, are you planning to meddle in my affairs?”
“I heard a rumor that you got engaged to Harley because you saw my relationship with Chandler and wanted to experience what it’s like to have a fiancé.”
“That’s true,” Lornell admitted openly.
“So, do you love Harley?” Tina asked. “The relationship of being engaged isn’t always permanent. It will eventually change, either by breaking up or getting married. Have you thought about where you and
Harley are headed?”
Lornell squinted his eyes. “You don’t need to worry about that.”
Tina sighed, knowing she had no right to be concerned. “I just don’t want you to end up in a situation like mine because you didn’t truly understand your own feelings.”
Lornell chuckled lightly, saying, “I’m not as foolish as you. The Quentin family never does anything they’ll regret.”
“Is that so? I hope it’s true,” Tina said.
“I can promise you entry into the Quentin family, and if you need it, I can provide you with the medicine you want. But after the matter is settled, the Quentin family will want your cooperation in researching curse bugs,” Lornell concluded.
“Alright,” Tina responded.
“Then three days from now, I’ll take you to the Quentin family. I’ll come to the Stephenson family to pick you up,” Lornell said.
“So it’s settled then!” Tina stood up and left the private room.
Outside the private room, Harley was waiting.
This surprised Tina a bit. She thought Harley would either rest in another private room at the club or go have some snacks.
“Tina, did you talk it out?” Harley asked with concern.
“Yes, in three days, I can go to the Quentin family,” Tina said.
“That’s great!” Harley genuinely felt happy for Tina. “Then you can see Chandler soon. Regardless, I hope you and Chandler can reconcile and be as close as before!”
“Thank you,” Tina said. “Harley, I hope you can truly understand your own feelings and not end up like me, realizing afterward what you truly want and missing out on something.”
Harley smiled, but there was a hint of sadness in her eyes. “Yeah, I will.”
She understood that Tina said these words because she had noticed Lornell’s indifference towards her before.
Although they were clearly engaged, no one outside knew about their relationship.
And even though later on, he introduced her to his medical school classmates and informed them of her status as his fiancée.
However, he only used her as a shield, making it easier for those girls who liked him to give up.
Perhaps it was he who proposed the engagement in the first place, so he never showed any signs of wanting to back out.
But she also knew very well that he had never truly liked or loved her.
foolishly put her feelings into it, without getting any response in return.
What does she really want, then?
After going in circles for a while, Tina still hasn’t regained her memory, but she knows clearly that what she wants is Chandler’s affection.
So what about her? Does she want Lornell’s affection?
After Tina left, Harley walked into the private room and saw Lornell making a phone call.
It must be to someone from the Quentin family. Harley sat quietly beside him, not saying a word.
After a while, Lornell finished the call. Harley looked at him and said, “You promised Tina to take her to the Quentin family. Thank you.”
“Why do you want to thank me?” he asked, “I agreed to Tina’s proposal because the terms of the deal were very favorable, and the Quentin family had no reason to refuse.”
Harley pursed her lips, “Does the Quentin family always have to calculate everything in terms of trades?”
“What’s wrong with that?” he asked in return.
“And what about you? Do you also trade in everything?” she asked again..
He squinted his eyes slightly, “What exactly are you trying to say?”
“Do you have even a little bit of liking for me? Do you have even a tiny bit of feelings for me?” Harley couldn’t help but ask.
Perhaps it was Tina’s bravery in wanting to enter the Quentin family that influenced her, so now she finally asked the question. she had been wanting to ask!
Lornell stared at Harley, “Why, do you think I am a cold-hearted person?”
“I didn’t feel that way.” She bit her lip slightly and said.
“If I didn’t like you and have any feelings for you, I wouldn’t have saved you back then,” Lornell said.
“People from the Quentin family may be used to life and death situations, and they may be a little colder than ordinary people, but it’s not that extreme.”
Harley’s attention was focused on the first half of his sentence: “You like me? Have feelings for me?”
“Over time, people develop some feelings for their pets, let alone you, who can be quite amusing at times. However, you’ve grown up now and aren’t as entertaining as you were when you were young,”
Lornell said casually, then stood up. “Alright, today’s business is almost done. Should I take you home or back to school?”
What is she hoping for?
Is she hoping that he also genuinely likes her as much as she does?
But the answer he just gave is the most realistic one.
The chances of two people like Chandler and Tina, who have been engaged since childhood, actually liking each other are already very slim.
So she used to envy Tina a lot, envying the harmony between Tina and Chandler.
Even though they were both engaged at a young age, their feelings for each other were completely different.
When Tina lost her memory and the news of her divorce from Chandler came out, she felt regret and sadness for a long time, as if something beautiful in her heart had been shattered.
Fortunately, Tina has now taken steps forward again, heading towards Chandler.
Hopefully, this time, Tina and Chandler will truly have a good outcome.
“You don’t have to take me, I can take a taxi back to school myself,” Harley tried to force a smile, hiding her disappointment, not wanting him to see any clues.
With that, Harley turned around, intending to leave the private room.
But before she could take two steps, Lornell grabbed her arm, saying, “I’ll take you to school.
Otherwise, if something happens to you on the way, I wouldn’t be able to explain.”
These were just ordinary words, but as Harley listened, her heart sank even further.
If something happened to her, would he only be concerned about having to explain? Instead of being sad, worried, or anxious for her?
