“How is Quinn?” Tina asked.
“Quinn is very well-behaved. She just finished feeding and fell asleep not long ago,” the nanny replied.
Tina approached the edge of the crib, bending down to look at the peacefully sleeping little one.
This little child had suffered more hardships than other children in this world.
Quinn’s features resembled both her and Chandler. Looking at Quinn, she would think of Chandler.
What was her mindset when she insisted on marrying Chandler before even graduating from college?
And why did she become pregnant with Quinn?
Was it a moment of loss of control? An accidental pregnancy? Or was it intentional?
Was it to help Chandler break the curse as soon as possible, so she became pregnant with Quinn?
No one could tell her the answer.
Tina sat down on the chair beside the crib, silently watching her daughter, determined in her heart.
The next day, when Chandler was about to finish work, his secretary suddenly called on the internal line. “Mr. Hunter, Miss Stephenson is here and wants to see you.”
Tina?
Chandler paused for a moment, didn’t she just come yesterday?
“Let her in,” he said.
“Yes,” the secretary responded, ending the call.
Moments later, Tina pushed open the office door and walked in alone.
“Why are you here?” Chandler asked.
“You’ll be off work soon, let’s have dinner together,” Tina suggested.
Chandler frowned slightly, “Why would we have dinner together?”
“Can’t a husband and wife have dinner together?” she retorted.
“We’ve already signed the divorce agreement,” he said.
“But we’re not officially divorced yet.”
“Tina…” he couldn’t help but sigh, getting up and walking towards her, “What do you really want? Just say it.”
“I want to go to the restaurant I used to like, have the food I used to enjoy. I want to know if I still like it now!” Tina said, “Yesterday I ran into Eugenia, she said I used to love a certain drink. I ordered that drink yesterday, and it was still delicious.”
As she spoke, she took a step closer to him, getting even closer.
“Chandler, you probably know the old me better than anyone else, you probably know some of my preferences better than my own parents. So it shouldn’t be difficult for you to find a restaurant I like and order some of the food I used to enjoy.”
He pursed his lips, “Is that all?”
“Yes,” she nodded. Of course, that was just one purpose. There was another…
Tina stared at Chandler intently, “A meal, will you agree?”
After a moment of silence, Chandler finally said, “Okay, wait a while, wait for me to finish work. You can wait here or outside.”
“I’ll wait here,” she said, taking the initiative to sit on the nearby sofa.
Chandler didn’t say anything more, he walked back to his desk and sat down, resuming his work.
Tina sat on the sofa and took out her phone. On the surface, she looked like she was checking her phone, but in reality, she was secretly watching Chandler.
He probably wouldn’t have thought that she was so nervous just now, afraid that even for this meal, he would refuse.
The way Chandler treats her now is different from before.
Since signing the divorce agreement, she could feel him constantly creating distance between them.
It’s as if he’s deliberately trying to downplay her existence.
After the divorce, this should have been expected, but strangely, it made her feel uncomfortable.
Is it because she really has feelings for Chandler?
Or is it that even if she lost her memory and forgot about her past with Chandler, she still subconsciously loves him?
So when they really separate, she feels lost, feels uncomfortable, and thinks of him more and more.
Even when she sees him tormented by the curse, she feels sorry for him, and she would be willing to have another child with him to break the curse!
Just as Tina was lost in thought, Chandler’s voice suddenly sounded, “Have you seen enough?”
“Huh?” Tina was taken aback, only then did she realize that she had been lost in thought, and was caught red-handed peeking at him.
“I’ve seen enough,” she said in embarrassment, quickly lowering her head to look at the pages on her phone, trying to ease the awkwardness.
Chandler didn’t say anything more, he continued reviewing the documents in his hands.
When he finished reviewing all the documents, he stood up and said, “Let’s go.”
“But it’s not time to get off work yet,” she said, there was still half an hour before she got off work!
“It’s okay, let’s finish dinner early so we can each go home earlier,” he said.
Upon hearing this, Tina felt a sudden pang in her heart.
For him now, is having a meal with her already a task?
Suppressing the sting in her heart, she smiled and said, “Sure, let’s go.”
Chandler drove and took Tina to a restaurant she used to love before her memory loss.
When the two entered, the waiter came up to them, obviously recognizing them, “Mr. Hunter, Miss
Stephenson, good evening, please follow me.”
The waiter led them to a window seat. From this position, they could overlook a panoramic view of the neon-lit night, which was beautiful and spectacular.
But for the current scenery, she did feel a sense of familiarity.
“Did I often sit in this seat before?” Tina asked.
“Hmm,” Chandler responded, instructing the waiter to give the menu to Tina first. “You go ahead and order, I’ll add on later.”
“No need,” Tina said. “You order, just like how you used to order based on my preferences. I want to know if I still like what I used to like.”
Chandler looked at her in confusion but didn’t say anything. Instead, he ordered based on her past preferences.
Soon, the food was served.
Tina looked at the unfamiliar dishes in front of her.
She hadn’t tasted these dishes before, but she had a feeling that they would be delicious.
Was it because her body still remembered these dishes? Tina wondered to herself as she picked up her fork and tasted the food.
Indeed, the taste was quite good.
Tina tasted each dish one by one. They all suited her taste and she ate more than usual.
After finishing the meal, she looked at Chandler, saying, “You really know me.”
Chandler raised his head slightly. “After all these years of being together, of course, I know about you.”
Tina smiled.
“What about drinks? What kind of drink do I like? You didn’t order any drinks, did you?” Se curiously asked.
She felt like there should be drinks with today’s meal.
“You used to like ordering a cocktail, but you’ve only recently recovered from your illness, so it’s better not to drink alcohol,” Chandler said.
“With my current condition, one drink is fine as long as it’s in moderation,” Tina said, “What kind of cocktail do I like? Help me order!”
He frowned, but ultimately went along with her request and ordered a cocktail for her.
The drink was a mixture of red, pink, and deep blue, looking quite beautiful. Tina took a sip. It was sweet, not like alcohol, more like juice.
“This drink is quite tasty. What’s it called?” she asked.
“Blue Promise,” Chandler replied.
“Blue Promise?” Tina gently swirled the glass and took another sip. “A blue rose is a promise to stay together. Did I like the name of this drink in the past?”
Chandler stared at Tina.
She had said these words before: “A blue rose is a promise to stay together, Chandler. I like the name of this drink.”
She had no memories of the past, yet she said the same words again!
“Yes, you liked the name of this drink,” he whispered.
Tina drank her cocktail while resting her head on her hand, looking at Chandler.
“It’s true that you will like the things you used to like again. Even if you lose your memory, your body still remembers that feeling,” she said softly, raising her hand to continue drinking.
His hand reached across the table and held hers. “Don’t drink anymore, you’ll get drunk.”
“At least I’m not drunk yet,” Tina said. “But I can stop drinking. Will you finish this drink for me?”
He pursed his lips, then took the drink from her hand and finished it in one go.
“Alright, the drink is finished, and it’s about time. Let me take you back,” Chandler said, getting up and walking around the table to Tina’s side.
He extended his hand to support her, afraid that she might be unsteady on her feet due to the alcohol.
