After all, since Tina lost her memories, they only met at some family gatherings and would talk about some past events.
But they never met privately.
“Do you know about the Quentin family since you and Lornell are engaged?” Tina asked openly.
“Not really,” Harley answered truthfully.
Tina paused for a moment. “I heard you and Lornell have been engaged for many years.”
“Yeah,” Harley said. “The engagement was arranged when I was 3 years old.”
She smiled sweetly as she spoke, saying that it was Lornell who insisted on saving her, which is why she survived.
Otherwise, she might not be in this world right now.
“The Quentin family is a member of the Crypt families. I only know that the Quentin family is highly skilled in medicine, but I’m not sure to what extent. I only know that when I was three years old, many doctors said I couldn’t be saved, but when the Quentin family came to save me, I was saved!” Harley said.
After hearing what she said, Tina didn’t know whether she should feel fortunate or not. The Quentin family’s medical skills sounded really high.
But the art of using Gu worms is already elusive. Can the Quentin family really help Chandler successfully?
“Tina, why are you suddenly asking about the Quentin family? Are you thinking of asking the Quentin family to help you regain your memories?” Harley asked.
“Huh?” Tina was taken aback. “Can the Quentin family help me regain my memories?”
“I don’t know. I just said it without thinking. But the Quentin family has rules. If they are to save someone outside of their family, that person must be able to provide conditions that satisfy the Quentin family!” Harley said.
The reason why they were willing to save her back then was all thanks to Lornell.
It was because Lornell was willing to engage with her, making her half a member of the Quentin family.
That’s why the Quentin family was willing to save her!
Conditions that satisfy them? Tina hesitated.
If she could really regain her memories, would she be able to remember everything about loving
Chandler back then? Would she no longer have this conflicting and torn feeling?
Or would she be completely disappointed in Chandler because she would know that all his kindness was just a disguise, all with a purpose?
“Tina, what are you thinking?” Harley’s voice rose.
“Nothing,” Tina said, lowering her gaze gently.
If it really was with a purpose, a disguise, then why did he voluntarily say during the divorce that he didn’t need her to have another child for him?
Isn’t that contradictory?
Tina was thinking about her own affairs and didn’t notice that Harley suddenly fell silent, looking towards the entrance of the restaurant.
At this moment, a group of people entered through the restaurant entrance, both men and women, and the most eye-catching among them was Lornell.
“Lornell, you’re really amazing. The surgery you demonstrated today is textbook level. Even the professors praised you!”
“No wonder so many girls in our medical school chase after Lornell. I’m even thinking of chasing after him!” a guy said.
“You give up on that. I think Miss Bird is the most suitable for our medical school. Miss Bird is the school flower of our medical school, after all!”
“Stop making fun of me!” Eva said shyly, but her eyes clearly glanced at Lornell.
Anyone could tell that she liked Lornell.
And yet, Lornell didn’t say anything. Although he didn’t agree, he didn’t refute either, as if he silently accepted it.
This made those people tease even more.
Harley lowered her head, no longer looking at that scene. She felt a bit uncomfortable seeing it.
All along, although she and Lornell had an engagement, only the close friends and relatives of the Hart family knew about it, and it was never publicly announced. Lornell also never introduced her to those friends who didn’t belong to the Crypt families.
Sometimes, she even wondered if there would be nothing between them if they didn’t have the engagement.
“Hey, isn’t that Lornell?” Tina’s voice rose.
Harley was startled and saw Tina looking towards Lornell.
“Hmm, I think he and his classmates from the medical school came here to eat,” Harley said.
This restaurant happens to be near the medical school.
“Do you want to go and say hello?” Tina asked.
“No, it’s fine,” Harley awkwardly smiled.
Lornell actually didn’t want his friends to know about her existence. In all these years, besides a few from the Crypt families, she hadn’t met anyone else.
He never introduced her to his friends.
“Tina, I’m almost done eating. I’m going to leave,” Harley said uncomfortably.
Tina glanced at the food on the table, thinking, “Hasn’t he eaten much? He’s almost done?”
However, before Tina could react, Harley had already hurriedly stood up and left.
“Harley!” Tina couldn’t help but shout.
Her shout caught the attention of Lornell, who was originally sitting at another table.
Lornell looked up and glanced in Tina’s direction. Then, his gaze followed the hurried figure that was leaving, and his eyebrows unconsciously furrowed.
“Lornell, what are you looking at?” someone asked.
“Nothing,” Lornell replied, retracting his gaze as if he hadn’t seen anything.
“So, what do you think of Eva?” another classmate teased.
The atmosphere suddenly became lively.
Tina watched the lively scene at Lornell’s table and suddenly understood why Harley had left.
Even though they were engaged, Lornell didn’t seem to have any intention of getting up after seeing
Harley leave. Moreover, the people around Lornell were clearly trying to match him with another girl.
It was as if those people didn’t even know that Lornell had a fiancée!
Or maybe Lornell simply didn’t take this engagement seriously, so he never mentioned it to the people around him.
And naturally, those people didn’t know.
The engagement of the Crypt families?
Tina suddenly thought of her own engagement with Chandler.
If Chandler had originally agreed to the engagement because of the curse of the insects…
Then why did Lornell agree to the engagement with Harley? Was it just to save her life?
But this answer, only Lornell himself understood.
Tina lost her appetite and glanced at Lornell’s table before leaving.
After finishing her afternoon classes, Harley was about to go to a nearby bookstore when she saw a gathering of people at the school gate, apparently discussing something.
“This car is a limited edition. Not many people in Emerald City can afford it!”
“Who are the people inside? What kind of department are they from? Hopefully, it’s a handsome guy!”
The discussions of the people around intrigued Harley, and she looked towards the center of the crowd.
However, with just one glance, her footsteps suddenly stopped.
It was because the limited edition car that everyone was talking about was a car she was very familiar with.
It was Lornell’s car!
Is Lornell in the car right now?
Thinking about the scene in the restaurant earlier, Harley’s hand couldn’t help but tighten around the strap of her backpack.
If Lornell doesn’t want anyone to know about their relationship, it’s best to pretend they don’t know each other!
With that in mind, Harley turned away and walked in the opposite direction, no longer looking at the car.
Just then, she suddenly heard a familiar voice behind her: “Why, no greeting for me?”
Harley paused, turning around in surprise when she saw Lornell coming out of the car and walking towards her.
“How did you…” she was a bit confused.
Weren’t they supposed to pretend they didn’t know each other? Why was he taking the initiative to greet her?
“I came here today specifically to find you. Are you planning to ignore me and leave?” Lornell walked up to Harley and said.
“You’re looking for me?” she blinked, not quite understanding what was going on.
He looked at her bewildered expression, furrowing his brow slightly, and grabbed her wrist. “Get in the car, let’s leave this place.”
After all, he didn’t have time to explain here and be watched by the people around.
Harley was led into the car by Lornell, and the car quickly left the school gate, leaving behind a crowd of onlookers still marveling at the scene that just happened.
After all, Harley was known as the princess of the school’s entertainment circle.
The Hart family owned half of the national film and television industry, and her father, Brian Hart, could almost be called the emperor of the entertainment industry.
There were rumors that because Harley liked a star when she was a child, that star received resources that would be almost impossible to obtain in this lifetime. Just because of her words, he got famous nationwide.
One could imagine the position the Hart family held in the entertainment industry. Therefore, many stars wanted to get to know this little princess of the Hart family.
