Tina suddenly felt like she was being seen through by the person in front of her. He understood her very well, but the amnesiac her didn’t understand him at all!
“I saw a post online and learned that his hand is disabled, so I went to find him.” Although it was true that she didn’t like others probing her or explaining herself.
But at this moment, she wanted to make it clear.
Was she afraid that he would misunderstand?
Tina herself couldn’t explain this feeling.
“And then?” Chandler asked.
“His hand really can’t move, and I also met his father and heard some unpleasant conversations,” Tina sighed.
“Do you want to help him?” Chandler asked.
She smiled bitterly, “He refused and hopes that we won’t meet again in the future.”
Chandler looked at Tina, “So you’re unhappy because he doesn’t want your help?”
Tina took a deep breath, “Because of his deception, I used to hate and resent him. In the end, I told myself not to think about it, but after knowing that his hand is disabled, I couldn’t help but go see him again. During the car accident, he protected me and Quinn. His hand became disabled, maybe it’s because he protected me during the accident. In my heart, I feel like I owe him.”
This conflicting and complicated emotion enveloped her, leaving her at a loss.
“So what do you want to do?” Chandler’s voice sounded gentle once again.
Tina looked blankly at the person in front of her as if no matter what she said, he would help her, he would stand by her side!
“I don’t know either,” Tina replied honestly, “maybe just do nothing.”
After all, Kit had already refused her help and didn’t want to see her again.
Of course, it would be best if they didn’t meet at all given their current relationship.
Whenever she saw Kit, she would think of the time they spent together, and it would also remind her of how he deceived her.
“If you want to do something, I can help you,” Chandler offered.
Tina looked at him strangely, “Would you help me no matter what I want to do?”
“Yes!” he replied without hesitation.
“Even if it’s something bad? Something that would make you uncomfortable, would you still help?” she continued to ask.
“Yes,” he affirmed again.
Tina bit her lip slightly, “Why are you willing to do this? Just because you love me?”
“Because you are Tina,” he said softly.
It seemed that the fact that she was Tina was more important to him than the fact that he loved her!
Tina felt somewhat helpless, his kindness towards her was simply beyond her comprehension.
Perhaps it was because of her amnesia, she couldn’t understand why he loved her so much!
A few days later, Tina and Chandler made plans to go see a photography exhibition together.
Tina arrived at the venue first, only to unexpectedly see a familiar figure.
It was Kit!
Tina was taken aback, she hadn’t expected to run into Kit in a place like this.
Kit was standing in front of a group of photos, completely focused and engrossed.
Tina hesitated, considering whether to pretend she hadn’t seen him and continue looking at the exhibition or go and say hello, or perhaps just leave.
But before she could make up her mind, someone walked up to Kit, grabbed him by the collar, and seemed to say something menacing. Kit’s expression immediately changed, and they both left together.
Tina furrowed her brow, a sense of foreboding lingering.
The way that man looked at Kit was filled with violent cruelty.
Could it be that Kit had some sort of enemy?
With this thought in mind, Tina instinctively followed them, but when she reached the entrance of the venue, she didn’t see Kit or that person.
Just as she felt somewhat disappointed, she suddenly heard someone passing by hurriedly say, “There seemed to be a fight in the alley just now, it was really brutal. I didn’t dare to intervene!”
“How could you stop it? If you had intervened, you might have been beaten too! Didn’t you see that the person who was fighting had several accomplices with him?”
“Should we call the police?”
“What’s the point of calling the police? Aren’t you afraid that the person who was fighting will find out your phone number and come after you for revenge?”
After hearing this, Tina’s sense of foreboding grew stronger and stronger.
Could it be that the person who was beaten up was Kit…
“Which alley?” she grabbed one of the people who were talking and asked anxiously.
“It’s this alley right next to us,” the other person pointed in the direction.
Tina immediately rushed towards the alley.
“Hey!” a passerby tried to shout at her, but it was too late.
Afterward, two passersby stood there, unsure of what to do.
“Is she going to save the person who got beaten up?”
“Is the person who got beaten up her friend? But if she goes over, others might beat her up too!”
“Shouldn’t we call the police?”
Just then, another voice rang out, “What did you guys just say?”
The two turned around and saw a tall and handsome man standing behind them.
“There’s someone in that alley who seems to have been beaten up. And just now, a woman heard it and rushed into the alley,” one of them said.
The other suddenly remembered something, “Right, the person who got beaten up looks a bit like Kit!
That retired celebrity…”
Chandler didn’t bother to listen to what the two were still saying. He immediately ran towards the alley.
If the person who got beaten up is Kit, then the woman who rushed over is most likely Tina!
Tina absolutely cannot get into any more trouble!
Just thinking about when he saw her unconscious in the hospital bed, his heart felt like it was being tightly squeezed, making it hard for him to breathe.
At that time, he was so afraid that she wouldn’t wake up.
When Chandler arrived in the alley, he only saw Kit lying weakly on the ground while a man was grabbing Tina’s collar, mocking and laughing, “Who do you think you are? The daughter of the
Stephenson family? The Stephenson family’s daughter just came back from being injured not too long ago. Do you think you can run out here all lively to save someone? Do you think I’m an idiot?”
Tina’s face turned bright red, and because of being grabbed by the collar, speaking became somewhat difficult.
“I really am the daughter of the Stephenson family. If you touch me, can you really bear the consequences? But if you let go of me and Kit, then we can easily resolve this misunderstanding. It’s just a misunderstanding,” Tina said.
“Misunderstanding?” the other person suddenly laughed, “This man actually wants to seduce my mom, and you’re still saying it’s a misunderstanding. Does the daughter of the Stephenson family really have a relationship with this Kit, as the rumors say? If you really are the daughter of the Stephenson family, then how would your husband Chandler feel when he finds out? Why don’t I go tell Mr. Hunter about it?”
In an instant, Chandler’s face flashed through Tina’s mind, and her heart felt like it had been pricked.
“Don’t go find Chandler, this is my own business!” Tina said.
The other person sneered, “Haha, you’re really putting on a show, but let me tell you today, don’t be overly brave, and don’t pretend to be the daughter of the Stephenson family to come here and play the hero!”
As they spoke, they swung their fist and were about to hit Tina.
Tina instinctively closed her eyes, while Kit struggled to try and stand up to intervene!
Just then, a hand suddenly intercepted the person’s fist in mid-air. Immediately after, those long fingers gripped the person’s wrist that was grabbing Tina’s collar.
The person exclaimed in surprise and let go of their hand.
Tina felt her neck loosen, and when she opened her eyes, she saw Chandler’s face before her.
Tina stared at him in astonishment, “How did you come here?”
“Are you hurt?” Chandler asked with concern.
Tina shook her head, then suddenly thought of something and took a step forward, crouching down and struggling to help Kit, who was lying on the ground and struggling to get up, “I’ll take you to the hospital right away!”
But just as she finished speaking, several people emerged from the shadows of the alley.
Tina recognized them. These people were the henchmen of that man. They were the ones who had beaten Kit earlier.
Instinctively, Tina stood before hit, trying to protect Kit. And she nervously looked at those people.
Chandler lowered his gaze, observing every move Tina made.
“I’m really unlucky today. You all came here to ruin my plans. You brought this upon yourselves,” the man said fiercely. He then raised his hand, intending to order his henchmen to attack Chandler and
Tina together.
This would relieve his pent-up anger from earlier.
However, as Chandler slowly raised his head and looked at the man, he coldly said, “Walter, not long ago, I remember you had someone ask to meet with me. Is this what you call a meeting?”
Walter’s pupils suddenly constricted as he stared at Chandler in shock.
The person who had wanted to meet not long ago was clearly…
“You are…”
How was this possible?! How could this person be here? This person was…
