“You’ll definitely be a good mother.” And he, to love the person who loved him back, was so incredibly lucky.
Two days later, in the living room of the Stephenson family, Hadwin glared at Chandler, shouting, “What did you say? Marriage? You want to marry Tina as soon as possible?”
“Yes.” Chandler said in a deep voice.
“Don’t you know that Tina is still in college?” Hadwin said impatiently.
In his eyes, his daughter was still a little girl, too young to get married. If it was possible, he could come up with hundreds of reasons to delay her marriage until after she graduated from university. But now…
Chandler was telling him to get married as soon as possible, how could Hadwin not be angry?
“I know,” Chandler replied, “but I want to marry Tina. Besides, marrying her won’t hinder her studies.
After we get married, she can continue doing what she loves and wants to do. I won’t stand in her way.”
“So just because you want to marry, I should marry my daughter to you right now?” Hadwin gave him a look that said, “Don’t even think about it.”
Tina couldn’t help but speak up, “Dad, it’s me who wants to marry Chandler as soon as possible.
Chandler was forced to agree because of me.”
Hadwin turned to look at his daughter, “You forced him to marry you?”
“Yes,” Tina quickly nodded.
Hadwin frowned, “What sweet words did Chandler say to you that made you speak up for him? Let me tell you, a man’s sweet words are the least trustworthy!”
Tina had the urge to comment, did Dad forget that he himself was a man?!
And she heard from Mom that Dad used to say sweet words to Mom too!
“Um… I swear, Chandler really didn’t say any sweet words!” Tina quickly raised her hand to assure.
“Then why do you want to marry Chandler as soon as possible?” Hadwin said impatiently.
“Because I might already be pregnant, Dad. Don’t you want your grandchild to be born out of wedlock?
Or do you want me to get married with a big belly?” Tina touched her belly and said.
Hadwin almost choked on his breath and it took him a while to extend his hand, pointing at his daughter, “What did you say? You’re pregnant?”
“Um… there’s a possibility,” Tina added, after all, she still didn’t know if she was actually pregnant or not, “But in the Hunter family, I had sex with Chandler without protection, so…”
Although Chandler told him that his mother drugged her in the pastries, so she acted that way after eating them.
But in fact, she felt that even if there was no drug, maybe she wouldn’t be able to resist anyway.
The drug simply unleashed her desires, and she had always hoped to marry Chandler and have children early.
So Tina wasn’t really against Auntie Adele drugging her.
After all, the other party did it with the hope that Chandler could resolve this source of pain sooner.
But before Tina finished speaking, Hadwin had already grabbed Chandler by the collar, glaring at him angrily, “Is this how you followed my instructions?”
“I’m sorry,” Chandler apologized.
“You should be sorry!” Hadwin punched Chandler directly in the face.
Chandler staggered back a few steps, his cheek red and his lips bleeding, showing a hint of blood.
Tina was dumbfounded, watching her father about to throw a second punch. She quickly stepped forward and stood in front of Chandler. “Dad, I… I already said it earlier. It was me who forced myself on him. Chandler was coerced.”
Hadwin sneered, “If he didn’t want it, could you really force him? Tina, move aside!”
Men understand men the most. In Hadwin’s eyes, Chandler deliberately seduced his own daughter!
“Enough!” Lina, who had been standing by, suddenly spoke up. “If Tina and Chandler truly want to get married, then let them!”
Tina looked at her mother with delight on her face. Truly, she had a great mom!
Hadwin looked at his wife in astonishment. “You agree to their marriage?”
“Tina is already 20 years old. She can distinguish between right and wrong. Besides, Chandler is a child we’ve watched grow up. Don’t you know what kind of person he is?”
Even so, for Hadwin, his daughter getting married now was still too early. No matter how he thought about it, she was still a little girl. How could she be getting married?
“I disagree. Tina is still too young,” Hadwin rarely opposed his wife’s opinion.
“So, do you really want your daughter to end up pregnant and get married, or have a child and be called a bastard?” Lina retorted.
Hadwin stumbled, “But it hasn’t been confirmed yet. Maybe she’s not pregnant.”
“Even if not this time, what about the next time?” Lina asked.
Hadwin’s face turned grim. Another time?
“Since Tina wants to marry Chandler, as parents, shouldn’t we respect our children’s decisions? Isn’t that good?” Lina said again.
Hadwin remained silent, but his expression clearly showed his unwillingness.
So, Lina turned to Chandler and Tina and said, “Alright, Chandler, you take Tina to your place for a couple of days. Your father and I will discuss your marriage.”
“Okay,” Chandler obediently agreed.
Tina made faces at her mother, signaling her with her eyebrows, pleading for her mom to handle her dad!
After all, in this family, the only one who could handle the father was the mother.
Lina responded by making faces back at her daughter, assuring her that she would handle it.
With their signal exchange complete, Tina quickly pulled Chandler away from the Stephenson family.
Hadwin didn’t even have time to stop them!
“You’re not worried that Tina is getting married so young?” Hadwin glared at his wife.
“You say young, but she’s actually not that young. She’s already 20,” Lina said. When she was 20, she was quite independent. And it seemed like her daughter was even more independent than she was at that age.
“She’s 20, but she’s still a student!” Hadwin argued.
“Why are you so against Tina marrying Chandler?” Lina asked. “Tell me, what’s wrong with Chandler?”
Hadwin paused, displeased. “He shouldn’t have gotten involved with Tina in the first place!”
“But Tina said it was her own choice,” Lina replied.
“Even if it was her choice, can’t Chandler tolerate that?” Hadwin retorted irritably.
Lina smiled and suddenly pushed her husband down onto the couch. “Well, what about when we first met and I made the first move? Why couldn’t you tolerate it then?”
Hadwin blushed, a rare sight. “Back then… it’s the same as now, back then I…”
“What’s different? Did you only play with me back then?” Lina reached out and gently caressed her husband’s face, his eyes, nose, and lips…
Although time had passed, her husband still looked so handsome in her eyes, captivating her senses.
“Of course not!” Hadwin exclaimed.
“If back then, after we spent the night together, I didn’t leave but instead asked you to marry me, would you have agreed?” Lina asked.
Hadwin fell silent, understanding the meaning behind her question.
Letting out a sigh, Hadwin said, “I always worry that Tina’s feelings for Chandler are only because of the agreement made between me and the Hunter family all those years ago. That agreement has bound Tina’s emotions from the start, limiting her choices to Chandler. I’m afraid she doesn’t actually love him, that she’s not clear about her feelings.”
“Don’t think too much, you worry too much!” Lina playfully tapped her husband’s nose. “I believe Tina has already thought things through. Besides, love and a good life aren’t guaranteed just because you think about it before marriage. In the days to come, it’s up to Tina to walk her own path. We can only offer help when she needs it, but we can’t control her life. She should make her own choices.”
Hadwin smiled wryly, “I know, you always manage to convince me.”
Seeing this, Lina knew that her husband had accepted the fact that their daughter was getting married soon.
“I can persuade you because I know we both love Tina very much. It’s because I love her that I can persuade you,” Lina said, lowering her head and gently brushing her husband’s lips. “But speaking of the past, I can’t help but remember that night when I had you pinned down. You have no idea how adorable and beautiful you were back then.”
Hadwin couldn’t help but smile wryly. Only she would use words like adorable and beautiful to describe him.
“And what about now?” Hadwin asked.
“Now, even though you’ve aged, you’re still a handsome and good-looking dad!” Lina smiled and kissed him on the lips.
No matter how old her adorable husband became, she still loved him so much.
Even when they both had gray hair, she would still love him!
Hadwin wrapped his arms around his wife’s waist, matching her passionate kisses.
If it hadn’t been for her initiative in the beginning, maybe there wouldn’t have been their story! And he loved Lina’s enthusiasm for him.
It was as if no matter how many years had passed, he was still her favorite man!
“I love you!” Hadwin whispered. “If Chandler doesn’t love Tina as much as I love you, he’s done for!”
Lina couldn’t help but laugh and cry at the same time.
This man, still thinking about that at a time like this.
“Yes, I believe that Chandler will love Tina just as much,” Lina said, her hand starting to crawl into
Hadwin’s clothes, shifting his attention. “Okay, now that they’re not here, tonight I want to repeat what we did on our first night together.”
Hadwin was taken aback. Did she mean she wanted to pin him down like they did back then?
“By the way, no matter how I treat you, you can’t resist, you know, after all these years of pampering myself, I don’t have the strength I used to have. If you resist, my arms, my waist, and legs won’t be able to hold up.” Lina added.
Hadwin’s scalp suddenly felt numb, feeling as if tonight, he might be the one who couldn’t hold up.
Meanwhile, Tina and Chandler left the Stephenson family. She looked at Chandler’s furrowed brow and immediately reassured him, “Don’t worry, in my house, if my mom says it’s okay, then it’s definitely okay, there won’t be any problems.”
That’s because in her family, it’s her mom who has the final say!
Don’t be fooled by the high position and power her dad has outside, when he comes home, he still obediently listens to her mom.
