Suddenly, the room fell silent. Even Mr. Perkins, who initially wanted Kit to drink three glasses, felt a moment of awkwardness. Fortunately, someone quickly tried to liven up the atmosphere.
Kit, realizing that the conversation had shifted away from him, quietly left his seat and headed to the restroom.
He hadn’t eaten much since last night, and he had consumed quite a bit of alcohol during the dinner.
His stomach felt like a whirlpool at this moment.
Leaning over the toilet in the restroom, Kit began to vomit.
However, since he hadn’t eaten much in the first place, he didn’t vomit much.
After he finished vomiting, he wearily walked over to the sink, rinsed his mouth, carefully wiped the corners of his lips, and then tidied up his appearance in front of the mirror.
Today’s dinner was arranged by his father, solely to impress these big shots and gain access to better resources.
Although he felt disgusted inside, he couldn’t resist his father’s arrangements.
Just endure a little longer… Endure until the day he can completely break free from his father! Kit said to himself in his mind.
In the mirror, he appeared delicate and handsome. It was this face that made others like him and brought him more advantages.
If he didn’t have this face, perhaps even if he was his father’s illegitimate child with a blood relationship, his father wouldn’t have taken him out of the orphanage.
He didn’t need to care about Tina. As long as he pretended she didn’t exist, today’s dinner would be no different from previous ones!
However, as he walked out of the restroom, his footsteps abruptly halted because Tina was standing right at the restroom entrance.
And from the way she looks, it’s obvious she’s waiting for him!
Because as soon as she saw him come out, her eyes lit up.
“You finally came out!” Tina breathed a sigh of relief.
“If you didn’t come out, I was about to go into the men’s restroom to find you!”
“Miss Stephenson, do you need something from me?”
Kit said nonchalantly.
Tina frowned. “Didn’t we already address each other by our names earlier?” The sudden use of “Miss
Stephenson” made her feel a bit strange.
Kit’s lashes trembled slightly, and he lowered his gaze. “Alright, Tina, what do you need from me?”
“Were you vomiting in there just now?” she asked. She heard faint sounds of vomiting coming from inside. “When I saw you leave the private room, your complexion was really bad. Was it because of yesterday in the elevator, you…”
“I’m fine,” he interrupted her. “Thank you for your concern, but I really have no issues.”
“I see,” Tina hesitated for a moment. “Then don’t drink anymore when you go back into the private room later. Your face is as pale as a sheet of paper now. If you feel uncomfortable later, just blink at me and I’ll find a way for you to leave early.”
“Why are you being so kind to me?” Kit suddenly asked.
“Huh?” Tina was taken aback. “Because you like the idol, right?”
Kit bitterly smiled in his heart. Yes, isn’t that the obvious answer? But what was he hoping for? Was he expecting a different answer?
“Tina!” Chandler’s voice sounded from behind Tina.
Tina turned her head and saw Chandler walking towards them.
Chandler approached Tina’s side. “You were out for quite a long time, so I came to check on you.” He casually held Tina’s hand.
Kit caught a glimpse of their intertwined hands from the corner of his eye. Chandler’s action seemed like a deliberate declaration of sovereignty.
But even if Chandler didn’t do this, Kit wouldn’t have any intentions toward Miss Stephenson from the
Stephenson family.
After all, if the alliance between the two families was truly ruined, the consequences wouldn’t be something a small person like him could bear!
Chandler’s gaze fell on Kit’s face. “Mr. Ingram, you don’t look well. Is there something wrong with your health?”
“No, I’m fine. Thank you for your concern, Mr. Hunter. I’ll head back to the private room now,” Kit replied, lifting his feet and walking towards the private room.
Tina frowned. Was Kit really okay like that? He looked so pale, as if he could collapse at any moment!
Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her hand. Tina couldn’t help but exclaim, “Ouch!” It turned out
Chandler was holding her hand too tightly.
“Sorry!” Chandler quickly let go of her hand. On Tina’s fair fingers, there were some red marks that looked particularly prominent!
“It’s nothing,” Tina said.
However, Chandler still carefully cradled her hand in his palm and gently rubbed the spot where he had accidentally hurt her earlier.
“You seem to care a lot about Kit,” Chandler said.
“Because yesterday…” Tina’s voice suddenly faltered, and she didn’t continue.
“Yesterday?” Chandler narrowed his eyes. “What happened yesterday?”
Tina bit her lip, seemingly contemplating how to explain. “Well, yesterday, when Eugenia and I went to see Kit’s concert, Kit and I got trapped in an elevator together. We were stuck for quite a while, and
Kit… um, was a little scared. I’m afraid that the trauma of being trapped in the elevator yesterday might still affect him today.”
She deliberately concealed the fact that Kit had claustrophobia.
“You were trapped in an elevator with him?” Chandler froze.
“Yeah, we were stuck for over half an hour! The elevator suddenly lost power! It’s a good thing I wasn’t the only one trapped in there yesterday, otherwise, I would probably have been scared too,” Tina said.
Although it seemed like she helped Kit while they were in the elevator yesterday.
But on the other hand, Kit’s presence was also reducing her fear!
“What about you? Are you injured? Why didn’t you tell me!” Chandler anxiously exclaimed, carefully examining Tina’s gaze as if trying to find any signs of injury.
“I’m fine, I didn’t get hurt!” Tina reassured, raising her hand again when Chandler still seemed concerned.
“I really didn’t get hurt! If I were injured, I would have gone to the hospital a long time ago. How could I still be here having a meal with you?”
Chandler breathed a sigh of relief. “Then why didn’t you tell me that you were trapped in the elevator yesterday? If you hadn’t accidentally let it slip just now, were you planning to never let me know?”
“But it’s not a big deal,” Tina said casually. She wasn’t injured, and they were only trapped for a little over half an hour. She didn’t think it was necessary to specifically tell him.
“But to me, it is a big deal,” Chandler embraced Tina. “Tina, to me, everything about you is a big deal!”
Leaning against Chandler’s chest, Tina couldn’t help but feel her face flush, and her heartbeat seemed to quicken.
She really did like Chandler a lot!
When the two of them returned to the private room, Tina saw that Kit had already returned.
Austin noticed their return and greeted them warmly.
As the meal went on, people began to leave one by one.
Chandler checked the time and said to Tina, “Let’s go too.”
“Okay,” Tina nodded, bid farewell to everyone, and finally approached Kit. “I’m leaving now. If you’re not feeling well, try not to drink too much.”
Kit pressed his lips together and politely said, “Thank you for your concern, Miss Stephenson.”
The tone he used seemed deliberate, as if he was intentionally creating distance between them, making it feel distant.
Tina frowned.
She had thought that after the elevator incident, her relationship with Kit had become closer, and they could even be considered friends.
But now, it seemed like it wasn’t quite the case.
Exiting the private room, Chandler looked at Tina, who seemed gloomy. “What’s wrong? Is it because
Kit is upset?”
“It feels like you can always see through me,” Tina sighed.
That was because she was easy to understand, easily displaying her emotions on her face, which was adorable in its honesty!
And him, wasn’t he initially attracted to her because of this genuine quality of hers?
It was as if in front of her, he never needed to hide himself.
“Because of Kit’s attitude towards you?” Chandler asked again.
“A little bit. I thought maybe we could be friends, but it doesn’t seem like it, so I feel a bit disappointed,”
Tina shrugged. “But then, I thought about it again. From the beginning, I liked him as a fan, because I liked his songs, I liked his performances. So, becoming his fan meant being a fan and idol don’t necessarily have to be friends, right? Sometimes, maintaining a distance between a fan and an idol might be better.”
Her clarity surprised Chandler a little.
I thought she would be upset, but clearly, she has already adjusted her emotions.
“In the future, I’ll just continue being a loyal fan. After all, when I became his fan, I never thought about becoming friends with him,” Tina said, holding onto Chandler’s arm.
Chandler’s eyelashes twitched slightly. For him, perhaps this was a stroke of luck.
She wouldn’t become friends with Kit. If she just stayed as a distant fan, then he wouldn’t have to worry. One day, maybe this man Kit would steal her away from him!
Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but scold himself for being so petty.
Even though she has always made it clear that she loves him, why does that sense of unease in his heart still occasionally emerge?
When the two of them reached the parking lot, Tinal wanted to take out her phone, but suddenly realized that her phone wasn’t in her bag.
“My phone is still in the private room,” she said, then looked up at Chandler and said, “You go get the car,
I’ll go back to the private room and get my phone. I’ll meet you at the hotel entrance later!”
