It was as if everything was under the other person’s control, leaving him with no room for resistance!

Cold sweat broke out on Archer’s forehead.

Rosalind was about to say something, but Archer grabbed her and said, “Let’s go back first!” They hurriedly left.

When they got downstairs, Rosalind asked, “Why didn’t you let me speak?”

“What do you want to say? Don’t forget, that person is

Mason!” Archer said.

“So what? He used to live with us for so many years. I’m still his

Auntie Rosalind!” Rosalind said.

“He calls you Auntie Rosalind because of Veronica’s relationship. If Veronica cuts ties with us, do you think he’ll still call you that?” Archer said irritably.

Rosalind was speechless for a while before saying, “So we just let that girl cut ties with us? If she really does, don’t expect to rely on the Reed family again.”

“Okay, let’s go back first. We’ll think of a solution later,” Archer said.

At this moment, Veronica looked at Mason standing in front of her and asked nervously, “How did you come here?”

“Didn’t we agree to try it out?” he replied.

“Ah!” She suddenly came to her senses and said, “Yes…we did agree to try it out…”

She licked her dry lips and pressed her fingers on the password lock. While entering the password to unlock the door, she asked, “Do you want to come in?”

“Okay,” he said.

So he walked into the room again and sat on the sofa in the living room.

“Do you want tea or a drink? I have juice and cola here,” she said nervously as she watched him sitting quietly in her living room.

Everything felt so unreal and surreal.

“Warm water is fine,” Mason said.

“Oh, okay,” she replied, quickly pouring him a glass of warm water and carefully carrying it to the coffee table in front of him.

“Are you nervous?” His voice suddenly rang out, causing her hand to shake and the water in the glass to spill onto the table.

“I-I’m sorry!” she stuttered, quickly grabbing two tissues to wipe the table.

Seeing her panicked movements, he asked again, “Are you nervous?”

She couldn’t help but grip the tissues tightly in her hand. Her heart was pounding so hard that it felt like her blood was rushing to her face. Even her voice was stuttering. All of this seemed to be saying that she was nervous.

“What? Is this question inconvenient to answer?” His voice rang out again, his dark eyes staring at her.

Her heart beat faster and harder!

She took a deep breath and met his gaze. “Yes, I’m very nervous.”

“Why?” he asked, as if it was just a simple question.

“Because… we haven’t faced each other calmly like this and had a good conversation for several years. And, you… haven’t been in this room for a long time,” she hesitated and continued, “And, you were in this room from last night until this morning.”

“Yes, I was.” He said.

She felt a little embarrassed and said, “Yes, I’m sorry.”

“Have you thought about how we should try?” he asked.

She stared at him blankly, “Huh?”

“Or are you going to back out?” he asked.

She quickly shook her head, “No, I’m not going to back out!”

“Since you’re not planning to back out, how do you plan to start?” he asked.

She looked at him, how to start… she actually hadn’t thought about this question. At that time, she just didn’t want to let him go no matter what!

She was afraid that if she let go, she would never be able to hold onto him again.

“Why do you want to try with me?” She bit her lip and asked this question.

He stared at her as she bit her lip harder with her teeth, “You don’t like me now, do you?” She knew his hypnotic effect hadn’t worn off.

In other words, in terms of emotions, his feelings towards her were like those of a stranger.

“Yes, I don’t like you,” he said, “So I want to know why I liked you in the first place.”

And why, even though he no longer had feelings for her, his emotions were still influenced by her.

She lowered her head and after a long while said, “So… can we start getting along like we used to? We can meet often, have meals together, or just chat whenever you’re free.”

“Is that all?” he asked.

She blinked, “Isn’t that enough?”

“No, what if I want to take our relationship further?” he asked.

Further? She wondered, and after a moment, her face began.

to turn red. Could he be talking about… “Even if we decide to try… even if I really decide, but… if we progress too quickly, it would be too…”

“Progress too quickly?” He glanced at her, “Holding hands and hugging is too fast for you?”

“Huh?” She was stunned, then realized she had made a joke, “Just holding hands and hugging?” They used to hold hands and hug each other often.

“What else could it be?” he asked.

Her face turned even redder, and she quickly waved her hand,

“N-nothing, I didn’t think of anything…” She couldn’t say that what she had thought before was completely different from what he was saying now.

“If necessary, kissing might also be needed,” he added after thinking for a moment.

She hesitated for a moment before stuttering, “What do you mean by ‘if necessary’?”

He stared at her. “Like this morning, when you need to prove something.”

She bit her lip again, leaving a row of marks from her teeth. If she kept going, she might even break her lip.

“Do you hate kissing me?” Mason asked.

Her gaze unconsciously fell on his lips.

Hate it? No, not at all!

Although the kiss this morning was reluctant and something she had to do because she didn’t want to let him go, she didn’t feel any hatred when her lips touched his. The feeling of being close to his lips even gave her a strange sense of security.

It was like… he had finally returned to her side.

“Do you hate it?” His voice rang out again, but this time, it was very close to her.

It was only then that she suddenly realized that at some point, he had already leaned in close to her, his face very close to hers, and his breath brushing against her face.

“No… I don’t hate it,” she murmured in response.

“Really?” He stared at her, his gaze indifferent but with a hint of sharpness and fierceness, as if he could see through her heart.

“Yes… really…”

His fingers stroked her lips, lightly and repeatedly, making her feel like her lips were burning, as if they were about to catch fire.

“Then prove it to me,” he said.

Proof? Do we need to prove it so soon?

She swallowed the saliva that suddenly secreted in her throat, and her hands, as if possessed, involuntarily lifted and stroked his cheek.

His gaze became even deeper, and her eyes met his, unable to look away, as if she wanted to completely sink into his bottomless eyes.

She…wanted to go back to the past with him!

She wanted to rely on him like before, to share happiness and sadness with him.

During the years they were apart, she was shrouded in loneliness. Even when she was among people, she felt lonely, as if she was wearing a mask on her face every day to face others. But only in front of him could she take off this mask.

So even if she had to prove it again and again, she was willing to do so.

“Mason, I won’t hate you. Whatever it is, I won’t hate you.” As she finished speaking, she kissed his lips.

His body stiffened, and her lips, with her own warmth, pressed against his.

And her words just now lingered in his ears.

“Mason…Mason…” How long had it been since he heard that name?

She said she wouldn’t hate him, no matter what. Was it true?

Then why did she say she hated him when she misunderstood him before?

What kind of feelings did she have for him in the past? If it was just familial love, why was it so easy for her to hate him?

Could he believe her words now?

Why did he choose this kind of hypnosis in the first place? If he wanted to forget his feelings, wouldn’t it be better to forget all memories related to her as well?

Why choose to remember everything that happened between them, but forget the emotions he experienced during those events?

It’s like watching a movie of his own performance, but without the same state of mind he had during the actual performance.

And now, the woman who occupies the vast majority of his past memories is approaching him, kissing him, and doing things that she could never do in his memories.

After a moment, Veronica wanted to pull away, but her lips. only slightly left his before his hand grabbed the back of her head and pressed her lips back onto his.
