“Thank you,” Kyla said. “How about we all get together this weekend? I’ll invite Grace, Lina, and

Valda.”

“Sure,” Amber replied. “I’m free this weekend anyway. We haven’t gotten together since Valda’s housewarming party, so it’s a good opportunity to catch up.”

On the weekend, Kyla chose a famous private club called Emerald City and booked a large private room for the party.

Inside the private room, there are many entertainment facilities available. However, for this gathering, everyone coincidentally did not bring their children and it is only an adult gathering.

A few women gathered together, and apart from being concerned about the romantic relationship between Kyla and Martin, the only topic left was about Valda’s pregnancy.

“How about it, are you pregnant?” Lina, showing her gossiping nature, asked.

“Not yet,” Valda shook her head with a hint of regret. Since their marriage, she had been trying to conceive, but it had been several months and she still hadn’t gotten pregnant. This made her a little anxious.

Obviously, she doesn’t seem to have a body that is prone to pregnancy.

“Has she been checked at the hospital?” Grace asked with concern.

“We did a check-up before marriage at the hospital, and there were no problems,” Valda said, then glanced at her friends, “It seems like all of you got pregnant pretty easily!”

It turns out that some things may seem easy, but when it comes to oneself, it’s not that easy.

“What do you mean by easy? I’m definitely not easy,” Lina quickly declared, “You have to know that my husband and I tried so many times before we had our Tina.”

“Ha ha!”

Lina’s use of the word “tried” made Valda laugh. She felt that wherever Lina was, the atmosphere would be relaxed. Even her own anxiety was eased by Lina’s humor.

“Since both parties have no physical problems, there’s no need to rush. Just let nature take its course.

Besides, you’re only 30 years old, which is not considered old,” Kyla said. After all, she was already in her mid-30s when she had her second child.

“Yes, relax and the child may come naturally,” Grace and

Amber also said.

“Okay,” Valda nodded.

However, Lina’s next sentence left Valda’s brain half-stuck.

“Don’t always say ‘let it be’, you also need to cast a wide net for this kind of thing!” said Lina.

“A wide net?” Valda was confused.

“The more the merrier!” Lina winked, “The higher the frequency, the greater the chance. It’s like buying a lottery ticket every day, the chances of winning are higher than buying one once a week!”

Valda understood, then…her face blushed slightly, “Wouldn’t that be too tiring?”

“If Brian hears you say that, he’ll think you’re questioning him,” joked Lina.

Valda’s face turned even redder.

“By the way, let me teach you some tricks,” Lina said, lowering her voice and began to teach Valda her so-called “tricks”.

Even Kyla, who was listening on the side, couldn’t help but blush.

“But speaking of which, if you have so many ‘tricks’, how come you still had a baby without convincing him?” Kyla asked in confusion.

“When I gave birth to my daughter, I was too dangerous and scared Hadwin. No matter what I said, he wouldn’t let me have another child!” Lina said.

At this point, she expressed regret and actually wanted to have a few more children to make the household livelier.

Unfortunately, no matter how much she persisted, her husband refused to agree and even went as far as getting a vasectomy, crushing her hopes and making it impossible for her to even try to get pregnant.

“But giving birth to your child was indeed dangerous.” Kyla thought back to the scene when Lina gave birth to her daughter, and she still felt a lingering fear. At that time, they were all afraid that Lina wouldn’t make it, but Kyla still vividly remembers Hadwin’s despair.

“By the way, does the child from the Hunter family still come to your house often?” Kyla asked again.

Initially, no one expected that the one who would end up saving Lina and her daughter would be a young boy.

However, the little boy Hunter, who saved Lina and her daughter, made a strange request – he wanted

Tina Stephenson.

So now, Tina can be said to have become the child bride of

Hunter.

Fortunately, the child has a good relationship with Tina. Kyla has met Hunter a few times before and each time she saw how caring he was towards Tina.

Although he himself is still a child, he cares so much about another child.

“Yeah, he often comes to my house with an arrogant attitude, always trying to use his intelligence to crush others.” Lina has mixed feelings towards her future son-in-law.

After all, Chandler Hunter is quite attractive to Lina, who is a fan of good-looking guys. As he grows older, he becomes even more handsome. However, his high intelligence often leaves Lina feeling frustrated, especially when they play games like cards or chess at home.

Chandler didn’t give Lina’s future mother-in-law any leeway, which made Lina very angry.

Especially before, Lina became interested in mobile games and started playing them. Unfortunately, she suffered a crushing defeat. As a result, she asked Chandler to play a few rounds for her because she needed to take care of Tina.

Chandler ended up winning.

She curiously asked, “How are you able to win every time?”

The other person responded directly with, “It’s probably because of the difference in intelligence.”

Suddenly, she was choked and unable to speak.

The only thing that makes Lina feel fortunate is that their daughter can still control Chandler. Whenever

Tina makes a request, Chandler will comply.

This can only be described as one thing suppressing another thing!

“Intellectual superiority? What’s going on?” Valda was a bit curious. She had only heard a little about the Hunter boy, but had never actually met him.

“It’s hard to put into words. You’ll understand when you see him next time,” said Lina, quickly changing the subject and starting to talk about something else.

Grace and Amber were chatting on the side. Amber looked at the scene in the private room and sighed, “Kyla and Martin have truly reconciled now. It’s really heartwarming to see all you couples finally together.””

“And what about you? What are your plans for the future?” Grace asked indirectly.

Amber smiled slightly and said, “Me? Well, I’m actually quite content with my current life. I have work to keep me busy, and if I ever feel the need for a man, I just talk to Herman’s picture and reminisce about the past. There’s nothing wrong with that.”

Grace whispered, “Aren’t you afraid of loneliness?”

Wife is an Ex-Convict!

“Loneliness?” Amber smiled and said, “For me, what scares me the most is not loneliness, but not knowing the purpose of living. Now, I have goals, children, and friends. That’s enough. As the saying goes, ‘How can you tell if a fish is happy?””

Grace smiled in relief upon hearing this, “You’re right, I was overthinking things.”

She spoke and lightly clinked her glass with Amber’s, then they both drank it all in one go.

On the other side, Brian looked at Martin and said, “I heard you and Kyla took wedding photos?”

“Yes,” Martin replied. “Speaking of which, you said something right back then.”

“What did I say?” Brian asked.

“You said that if it’s something you’ve experienced, even if it’s painful, you don’t want to forget it,”

Martin said. “Maybe if you had told me that earlier, Kyla and I could have avoided some detours.”

“It’s not too bad now. Maybe detours are for a better future,”

Brian said.

“That’s true,” Martin said lightly. “So, when will we hear your good news?”

“Good news?” Brian was confused.

“A child, last time we met, everyone was guessing when your and Valda will have a child,” Martin said, patting Brian’s shoulder.

“It’s not something we can rush,” Brian said, although he really wanted one, he didn’t want to pressure

Valda.

“It can’t be rushed, but if your child is too far apart in age from our children, it will be difficult for them to play together,” Martin said, patting Brian’s shoulder.

After all, the group of people they were talking about, the younger ones, are still quite young.

“You won’t believe it, but I’m sure they were discussing children among themselves today,” Martin said.

Before Brian could respond, Hadwin walked over and said, “I believe it, and my wife will probably have a lot of ideas to contribute.”

Hadwin knows very well how many worms are in his own wife’s belly.

“I heard your wife is often driven crazy by your future son-in-law,” Jason casually remarked as he approached.

“Whether he will be my future son-in-law remains to be seen. It depends on what Tina thinks when she grows up,” Hadwin said.

“If Tina doesn’t want to, are you planning to break the engagement?” Jason looked at Hadwin and said, “Hunter is not easy to deal with.”

“I know, and besides, Hunter saved Lina and Tina back then.

But as a father, I also hope my daughter can be happy. If she really doesn’t love that boy, then I…”

Hadwin didn’t finish his sentence.

But everyone understood what Hadwin meant.

As a father, how could he bear to let his daughter lose her happiness because of a promise?

“It will be a tough battle,” said Jason.

“I know, but it’s still early,” Hadwin smiled. After all, the child is still young and no one can predict what the future holds.
