Aren’t you going to be rich in the future?”

“The Hart family was going to donate money to charity anyway. He only bought my portrait to donate to charity. Besides, don’t you know how much my portraits are worth?” Valda Tholler said.

“Anyway, I can see that Brian is really good to you. I think he’s serious about you.”

Valda Theller’s eyelashes quivered. “He has always been very serious about me.”

After ending the call, Valda Theller sighed and sat up.

‘Yeah, Brian has been serious and honest with me since the beginning. He’s never lied to me whether in our first fake relationship or in our current real relationship.’

Valda Theller threw back the covers and got out of bed, but she paused after taking two steps.

She was not wearing the gown she wore last night but her pajamas.

Her clothes had been changed!

All she remembered was falling asleep in Brian’s car. Then… She…

She had no recollection of what had happened!

She did have a few glasses of champagne at the gala yesterday.

‘Did I… get drunk, so he changed my clothes?’

She instantly blushed at the thought and immediately saw the gown lying on the other side of the bed.

The jewelry was on the nightstand.

If Brian did change her clothes for her, what should she say the next time she saw him?

After a quick wash, Valda Theller came to the studio with her head in a mess.

Her two assistants had also learned about the portrait that was auctioned off for 100 million dollars.

They asked her if it was true when they saw her. They looked envious after getting her confirmation.

Valda Theller answered half-heartedly.

In the afternoon, Valda Theller visited Camille Strickland at the magazine office to discuss the comic fiesta. “My boss said to hold a book signing for you at the company booth at the comic fiesta,” said Camille Strickland.

Valda Theller frowned slightly. “Is it because of Brian?” As a comic artist, she looked forward to a book signing. After all, it meant that more people were reading her comics.

However, she would rather not hold one if it was only because of Brian.

“What are you thinking? The company planned it long ago. I didn’t tell you because it wasn’t confirmed, I was scared you’d get excited over nothing. Isn’t the adaptation of your comic being filmed now?

Besides, you’ve been in the business for years. You have a certain amount of work published, so you’re fit for a book signing. But I gotta tell you it’s nothing big. The company’s just going to promote you and sell your comics at our booth at the comic fiesta,” said Camille Strickland.

Valda Theller was relieved when she heard that. “Alright.”

“By the way, get prepared for the comic fiesta and come up with your own tagline.” Camille Strickland began telling Valda Theller details about the comic fiesta.

On the other hand, Patrick arrived at Brian’s office.

“I didn’t expect you to spend 100 million dollars on your girlfriend’s portrait yesterday. It seems you’re more serious about her than I thought,” said Patrick.

Brian glanced indifferently at his best friend. “Did you come here to tell me that?”

“I just wanted to ask you to keep an eye on Phoebe. I’m afraid she’ll get hot-headed and do something bad,” said Patrick.

“You want me to keep an eye on her? Didn’t you try to talk her out of it? Do you think I would spare her if I’ve been keeping an eye on her and I find out she did something she shouldn’t have done?” Brian said coldly.

Patrick laughed drily. “Since I told you to keep an eye on her, you’ll minimize the damage as much as you can, of course. It’s better than you ruining her after she’s done something that can’t be undone.” He would not be here if Phoebe Cross were not so stubborn.

Brian was silent.

Patrick continued saying, “We grew up together. She only fell for someone she can’t have. Be… considerate.”

‘She can’t have?’ Brian’s eyes darkened slightly. He had also fallen for someone he could not have.

“Alright, I’ll keep an eye on her. I just hope she won’t have a lot of funny ideas. Otherwise, I won’t go easy on her and the Song family,” said Brian.

Patrick sighed to himself. ‘What’s with all the trouble?’

“Alright, let’s leave it at that. I hope she thinks it through herself.” As a mutual friend, he could only do so much. “But then again, since you love Valda Theller so much, when are you going to take her to meet your parents? According to my mom, your parents haven’t met her yet.”

“Later,” Brian said indifferently. He would take her to see his parents when he had fallen in love with her. He did not want his parents to be excited over nothing, nor get her involved with things she did not have to.

“Later?” Patrick raised his eyebrows. “I thought you were planning to marry her already.”

Except for Grace, he had never seen Brian take a woman so seriously.

“Get married?” Brian murmured. He would probably lead a happy life if he married a woman like Valda Theller.

However, it would be unfair to her if he could not fall for her.

“If I ever want to get married, it’ll most likely be with Valda Theller,” he replied.

Valda Theller was on her way back to her apartment when she received a call from Brian.

“Where are you?”

“I just got on the bus after leaving the magazine office. I’m heading back to my apartment,” said Valda Theller.

“Where will you get off the bus?” Brian asked again.

Valda Theller gave the name of a bus stop, and Brian said, “Wait for me at the bus stop. I’ll come and pick you up.”

“Oh… Okay.” She hesitated before responding as she was thinking about the gown she had changed out of this morning.

She wanted to ask him if he had changed her out of the gown yesterday but failed when the words were on the tip of her tongue.

When the bus arrived at the bus stop and the door opened, Valda Theller saw Brian standing there.

He wore a white shirt with partial black stripes, black trousers, and leather shoes. He looked elegant and noble.

He attracted attention like a prince in a fairy tale.

Valda Theller got off the bus and immediately felt everyone waiting for the bus looking in their direction.

“How long have you been waiting?” she asked in a mutter.

Brian said, “Not too long. My car is parked nearby. Where do you want to eat tonight?”

“Why don’t… we buy some ingredients from a nearby supermarket and go to my apartment for a simple hotpot?” she said. They had bought ingredients and cooked themselves before.

“Alright,” said Brian.

Therefore, they went to a nearby supermarket and started shopping for hotpot ingredients for the evening.

However, Valda Theller would look at Brian from time to time while shopping in the supermarket. When Brian looked at her, she immediately avoided him.

‘I can’t ask… Can I ask if he took off my gown last night?’ Valda Theller lamented in her head.

Even if he did, he was probably just worried she would not be comfortable sleeping in the gown.

However, the incident would haunt her if she did not ask.

After shopping at the supermarket, Brian drove to Valda Theller’s apartment. The two got out of the car with the ingredients.

“What’s the matter? You seem to be taking peeks at me every now and then. Do you have something to tell me?” Brian’s voice rang out suddenly.
