‘Is this… my child?’

Simon’s attending doctor also handed Amber Mitchell the little one’s DNA test report. “Our hospital compared your blood with Simon’s and found that you’re mother and son. You can go to anotherauthoritative institution for testing if you’re still worried. But I think the result should be the same.”

Amber Mitchell looked at the report in her hand and was a little distracted, but she knew one thing.

There should not be any problems with this report. After all, this hospital was a leading hospital in the industry.

“What on earth happened?” Amber Mitchell asked as she looked at George Gregory.

“I don’t know what happened. The doctor informed me when they unintentionally found out that you and Simon are mother and son. Louise Mitchell also admitted that Simon is your child. It’s just that since we discovered the news so suddenly, we still need to investigate how she did it,” replied George Gregory.

Amber Mitchell pressed her red lips together tightly. There was now little point in finding out how Louise Mitchell did it.

After all, it had happened, and Louise Mitchell was now behind bars for life. It did not matter much that she had committed one more ‘sin’.

The doctor left, leaving George Gregory and Amber Mitchell alone in front of the sterile room.

“Amby, I know I was wrong about what happened that year.

Nothing had happened between you and Herman Moss. I misunderstood you. I lacked trust in you, and I wronged you. No matter how you want me to repay you, I’m willing to do it. But I hope you can believe that Simon is really our flesh and blood!”

He never bowed down to others easily, but he was letting go of all his pride to beg for her forgiveness. He was wrong. He was awfully wrong.

Amber Mitchell gazed silently at the man, whose face bore the traces of today’s confrontation with the Moss family’s security guards. She had never seen him like this before.

“Do you want me to help Simon with his blood transfusion?” Amber Mitchell asked slowly.

“What?” A look of surprise flashed across George Gregory’s face.

“When I donated blood the last time, I heard from the nurses that his disease requires him to undergo transfusion treatment with his immediate family’s blood. That’s his only shot at survival, right? His blood type is the same as mine, so he’ll recover if I can donate enough blood for his transfusion.

Isn’t that right?” she asked.

George Gregory came back to his senses. “Yes, we do need you to help Simon with his transfusion so that he’ll recover, but L “I’ll help Simon with his transfusion. Even if he isn’t my child, I’ll do it if my blood can save someone else,” she said.

After going through so many things, she realized the value of life and was more willing to help those in need.

With that said, she looked intently again at Simon who was still unconscious. Then, she turned to leave.

George Gregory grabbed Amber Mitchell’s arm. “Do you think I said that to make you help Simon with his transfusion?” “What else? Do you really want us to acknowledge each other? George Gregory, you can stop the act.

Given the choice, I think you would rather Louise Mitchell be her mother than me,” Amber Mitchell said mockingly.

George Gregory said, “I’m not acting, and I don’t have to act in front of you! I… I really want to ask for your forgiveness.”

His voice began to grow hoarse, while his dark eyes seemed to be tearing up. There was even a touch of inferiority in his proud expression.

“Amby, give me another chance, okay? Let’s start over. I won’t misunderstand and doubt you this time.

I’ll be good to you. You’ll have a bright future ahead of you,” George Gregory choked out the words.

Amber Mitchell could not help laughing. “A bright future? George Gregory, what future is there for you and me?”

“I’ll make up for what you’ve suffered. I’ll make you happy!” he said quickly.

However, Amber Mitchell only said, “You can never make up for what I’ve suffered. George Gregory, I’m Herman’s wife now. Don’t ever say such absurd things to me again!”

“Absurd?” He stared at her. “Who’s being absurd now? Herman Moss’s already dead. You have no legal support by marrying a dead man!” “Why should I need legal support to marry? I’m marrying him because I love him!” Amber Mitchell raised her chin and said sternly.

“You love him? You love Herman Moss?”

“Yes, I love Herman, even if he’s dead. Death doesn’t mean the end of love.” Instead, her love for Herman only began after his death.

If only… she had fallen in love with Herman earlier. Maybe many things would not have ended like this.

With that said, Amber Mitchell lifted her hand to break away from George Gregory’s grip.

He stubbornly refused to let go, feeling that he might not be able to hold her ever again if he did.

“George Gregory, it’s no use holding on like this. You know what? You only disgust me every time you touch me. I hope I never have to see you again!” she said.

Her words seemed to trigger him. He suddenly pulled her into his arms before lowering his head and kissing her hard on the lips.

The intense kiss seemed to want to prove something or bring her back in time.

‘How could she love Herman Moss? I’m the one she loves!”

When he kissed her, she would respond and show him she loved him with her actions!

However, she responded with a violent struggle and resistance to push him away!

Therefore, George Gregory hugged Amber Mitchell tighter and deepened the kiss.

Just then, there was a sharp pain in his mouth, followed by the taste of blood. Then, a sudden force suddenly pushed him away!

Slap!

A clear and loud slap hit him on one side of his cheek.

He watched blankly at the right hand she swung out. The sting on his cheek and the blood in his mouth told him what had happened.

‘Does she… resist me so much?’

“George Gregory, don’t touch me. The more you touch me, the more disgusted I feel,” she said. “Amby, I just…” He tried to say something, but he then saw her mutilated right hand and the missing right ring finger, All his words seemed to be stuck in his throat, and he could not say anything more.

Amber Mitchell turned to leave, while George Gregory stood there like a statue, motionless.

When Amber Mitchell walked out of the hospital, she saw Daley Moss’s car parked not far away. The driver walked up to her and said, “Miss Mitchell, Mr. Moss asked you to get in.”

Amber Mitchell followed the driver to the car and got in.

However, the driver did not get in the car. Amber Mitchell and Daley Moss were the only ones in the car.

“Is Simon really your child?” Daley Moss asked. He was also surprised to hear George Gregory say that. After all, the Gregory family’s heir had always been Louise Mitchell and George Gregory’s child.

Amber Mitchell said, “I think so. The hospital issued a DNA test report. The chances of it being a mistake are slim, and Simon’s disease requires his immediate relative to help with the transfusion. There’s no way George Gregory would deceive me.”

“You didn’t know?” Daley Moss asked again. Amber Mitchell shook her head. “I don’t know why my child became Louise Mitchell’s, but I’ll save him and love him well.”

She had imagined many times how she would love the child and how she would become a good mother if her child were still alive.

Now… the child was still alive.

“Congratulations on having a child.” Daley Moss chuckled but looked at Amber Mitchell more sharply.

“As soon as George Gregory divorces Louise Mitchell, the three of you will be a happy family.”

Amber Mitchell froze before looking at Daley Moss sternly. “I’m already married to Herman.”

“But isn’t it better to marry the living than the dead? Besides, George Gregory still seems to have feelings for you. Besides, Simon is your son,” said Daley Moss.

“Does being dead or alive have anything to do with whether you love someone? I love Herman, and I want to marry him,”

said Amber Mitchell.

“Do you really not have feelings for George Gregory anymore?” Daley Moss asked.

“Would you still have feelings for someone who said they’d love you forever but just stood by when you were in trouble?”

Amber Mitchell asked.

If she did have feelings for him, they would only be hatred and disgust.
