”

Slap!

A cold slap interrupted the rest of Louise Mitchell’s speech.

Louise Mitchell was slapped so hard that she almost fell to the ground, but she did not seem to feel any pain. She just looked at George Gregory hysterically and said with a laugh, “George Gregory, you’ll suffer worse than me. You’ll never get what you want. You’ll end up alone in suffering. You’ll regret it all your life…”

Her shrill voice was like a curse.

George Gregory stumbled away with a pale face. He wanted to find Amber Mitchell. He had so much to say to Amber Mitchell!

With a swollen cheek, Louise Mitchell laughed until George Gregory left.

The sarcasm on her face then changed to self-deprecating sadness.

She now needed to use Amber Mitchell to hurt George Gregory and make him suffer. How ridiculous!

“Amber Mitchell, George Gregory, I curse that you’ll never be together. Never!” Louise Mitchell mumbled. In her opinion, her life was ruined!

She would not have any future!

As soon as George Gregory got out, he called his subordinates. “Where’s Amber Mitchell? Help me find her.”

He wanted to see Amber Mitchell. He wanted to tell Amber Mitchell that Simon was their child! He also wanted to tell her that he was sorry. He was really sorry. He should not have doubted her. He should not have turned his back on her when she was at her worst!

He had done so many wrong things, and he only realized them now.

However, he was surprised when he got a reply from his subordinate. “What? She and the Moss family went to the Moss family’s cemetery?”

“Yes, and Miss Mitchell went there wearing a wedding dress today,” the subordinate said.

The statement set off a tempestuous wave in George Gregory’s mind.

‘Wedding dress… Why would she go there in a wedding dress? What exactly does that mean?’

Uncasiness and fear filled his heart as he stepped on the gas pedal and sped off toward the Moss family’s cemetery.

‘Amber Mitchell… Amber Mitchell…’

The name kept flashing across his head.

Those pledges of eternal love seemed to echo in his ear.

‘Amby, I love you. I’ll take good care of you and won’t let you suffer!

‘Amby, I can do whatever you want. I only want you to be safe and happy.

‘Amber Mitchell, I have never loved anyone so much in my life, and I have never wanted anyone to marry me this much. Let me be with you for the rest of your life. I’ll be with you for the rest of mine, okay?’

These words had come out of his own mouth. He meant it with all sincerity when he spoke.

However, he never fulfilled them.

She had suffered a grievous injustice. She was not safe, let alone happy, but… he did nothing. He just let it happen!

‘George, don’t betray my feelings, okay?’ Her voice seemed to ring in his ears. ‘I will love you with all my heart. But I’ll stop loving you if you betray me one day. I’ll stop loving you once and for all.’

She looked at him. Though her voice was soft, every word was so firm.

It was as if she was making him a lifetime promise.

What did he reply to her then?

He said… ‘Okay, I won’t betray you and our relationship.’

However, what did he do in the end?

Suddenly, George Gregory saw a car rushing by and slammed on the brakes. The two cars were only a few centimeters apart and were about to collide.

“Don’t you know how to drive? Are you in a hurry to die?” The driver of the other car rolled down the car window and stuck their head out of the window to scold George Gregory.

George Gregory let out a breath, ignored them, and backed up.

He bypassed the car and drove on.

‘Amber Mitchell! I want to see Amber Mitchell as soon as possible. When the car finally arrived outside the Moss family’s cemetery, he almost stumbled out of the car.

Many of the Moss family’s security guards were standing outside the cemetery. They stopped George Gregory as soon as they saw George Gregory getting out of the car and running over.

“This is the Moss family’s cemetery. Outsiders are not allowed to enter,” one of them said.

“Get out of the way!” George Gregory snapped.

However, they showed no intention of moving aside.

George Gregory did not want to bother with anything else. He only wanted to get into the cemetery and see Amber Mitchell.

If anyone got in his way, he would get them out of the way!

He wanted to see Amber Mitchell. He wanted to see Amber Mitchell no matter what!

He raised his hand and swung it fiercely at the man in front of him. The entrance to the cemetery started becoming chaotic.

In the cemetery, Amber Mitchell stood in front of Herman Moss’s grave. Workers took out the old tombstone and replaced it with a new one. There was a new line with the words ‘Wife, Amber Mitchell’

next to the words ‘Husband, Herman Moss’ on the tombstone.

The only difference was that the words ‘Herman Moss’ were drawn with red ink, representing that he had died. Meanwhile, the words ‘Amber Mitchell’ were in gold, representing that she was still alive.

When Amber Mitchell died and her ashes were put into this tomb, the gold words would be painted red.

Amber Mitchell looked quietly at the new tombstone and murmured, “Herman, I’ll go look for you someday. But I might be old by then. You’d better recognize me.”

She even looked forward to the day when her ashes would be placed next to his. They would quietly be with each other forever.

Just then, someone hurried up to Daley Moss and whispered something in his car.

Daley Moss’s expression froze. Whitney Herrera, who was standing next to Daley Moss, watched her husband’s expression change slightly as she whispered, “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”

“George Gregory’s here, and there’s a fight outside,” said Daley Moss.

“What?” Whitney Herrera was shocked. “Why is George Gregory here? Does… Does he know about what’s going on here today?”

However, the Moss family was holding the wedding in secret and had never disclosed it. How could George Gregory have known?

Daley Moss said, “I don’t know. But he can’t get into the Moss family’s cemetery so easily!”

With that said, Daley Moss instructed the messenger, “Keep George Gregory outside and don’t let him disturb us.”

“Yes,” the person answered and hurriedly left again.

The ceremony went on, and the new tombstone was set. A priest began the wedding ceremony.

However, the groom was unable to make any sound in this special ceremony. Only the bride answered ‘I do’ and recited the marriage vows.

When Amber Mitchell completed her vows, two rings were handed to her, one of which was a male wedding ring that Amber Mitchell had made into a necklace. She wore it around her neck. The other was a female wedding ring that she held in her right hand and carefully put it on the ring finger of her left hand.

It was her wedding ring-her and Herman’s wedding ring. She would be wearing these two rings for the rest of her life.

However, a voice suddenly rang out just as the ring was about to slip onto her ring finger.
