It would be hard for anyone to survive with so little sleep every day, even if they were in good health.

“Why don’t you get some rest too?” Grace advised him.

However, Hadwin Stephenson seemed not to hear her at all. Grace knew he probably would not listen to her anyway.

The group left the hospital. Grace and Jason were on one side, while Kyla and Martin Weiss were on the other.

On the way, Grace asked Jason, “Do you know who the Hunter family is?”

Jason said, “Yes, I do. Old master Reed mentioned them when he was alive. They’re a  secretive yet strong family. Otherwise, Old master Reed wouldn’t have specifically warned me not to become enemies with the Hunter family unless absolutely necessary.”

“Then why were you willing to make an enemy of that family earlier?” Grace asked with some doubts.

“What else could I do? If Lina fell into a vegetative state and had to lay in bed all her life, you would probably be unhappy all your life, wouldn’t you?” he said. He was well-aware of her fated friendship with Lina.

Even he could not help feeling jealous over how important Lina was to her.

“Jay, thank you!” Grace said gratefully. She knew he had put the entire Reed family on the line for her when he confronted the Hunter family.

“Grace, you never have to thank me,” muttered Jason.

He would try his best to do everything she wanted!

On the other side, Martin Weiss sent Kyla to the store’s entrance. Kyla unbuckled the seatbelt but did not get off immediately. Instead, she turned to look at Martin Weiss. “Thank you for stepping up and helping today.” She was referring to Martin Weiss including the Weiss family when Jason threatened the Hunter family.

“Even if I hadn’t done that, the little boy would’ve saved Lina anyway,” said Martin Weiss.

That child cared about Tina Stephenson the most, so everything else was secondary. The little boy would save Lina as long as Tina Stephenson cried.

Kyla said, “Thank you anyway.” She was about to get out of the car.

“Kyla, in this day and age, do you still want to risk your life to have this baby?” They had just witnessed what had happened to Lina.

“You heard what that child said. Lina had difficulty delivering the baby because someone did something to her. I think we can avoid that if we’re more careful. I don’t want to give up this baby so easily.” Kyla got out of the car after she finished speaking.

Martin Weiss froze. She had just said the word ‘we’. She was putting both of them on the same team for the first time in years.

That one word filled his heart with joy.

‘Does this mean that her attitude toward me has softened a little?

‘As long as this goes on day by day… She’ll eventually learn to trust me again and believe that I love her!

‘Maybe… she’ll be willing to come back to me.

‘Even though that day seems so far away, I still hope for it…’

The hospital ward became quiet again. Hadwin Stephenson stayed beside the hospital bed as he stared at the person lying on the bed.

She was the one he loved the most, but he could only watch her sleep soundly again and do nothing.

It was like how it was back then, and it was unexpectedly still the same after all these years.

“Lina, you’ll wake up this time, won’t you?” he murmured as he held her right hand, which lay by the bed.

It was as if her temperature and touch would give him the courage to wait for her to wake up.

She was only awake for half an hour just now.

He was so scared that she would only be awake for a short time, just like what had happened in the delivery room previously. He was worried she would fall into an endless sleep again.

Every minute and every second was hell to him.

He stared at the person on the hospital bed, not wanting to miss. a minute of her. He feared that something might happen to her, but he did not notice anything.

Sometime later, Lina finally opened her eyes again when the sky outside the window lit up.

Hadwin Stephenson stiffened all of a sudden. He only looked blankly at her eyes that were opened. Tears instantly poured out of his eyes.

“What’s the matter… I… I just took a little nap. Why are you crying…” muttered Lina as she raised her hand to wipe away his tears. However, she found that her arms were so sore that she had no energy to lift them.

Hadwin Stephenson put Lina’s hand on his cheek as he mumbled, “Okay, I won’t cry. I won’t cry!” He tried to hold back his tears and kissed her hand from the fingertips to the palm.

“Where’s Grace? Have they gone back?” she asked with some difficulty.

“Yeah, they went back yesterday. They were up late worrying over you. They’ll probably come to the hospital to visit you again. in the morning. They’ve been coming to the hospital to visit you every day these days,” said Hadwin Stephenson.

“These days?” Lina seemed to finally realize that more time had passed than she thought. “How long have I been sleeping?”

“You’ve been sleeping for 13 days,” said Hadwin Stephenson. He had been counting the minutes and seconds of every day that passed since she fell into a coma.

Lina was shocked. She felt like she had just given birth. Who knew it had already been 13 days?

“By the way, where’s the baby?” She remembered that the baby was still in the ward when she woke up, but now…

the baby was not here.

“The nurse took the baby to another ward, lest she disturbed you. I’ll ask them to bring the baby here in the morning,” said Hadwin Stephenson.

Lina finally felt relieved. “Have you had a rough… 13 days?” Judging from his present state, she could almost guess how he had spent these 13 days.

Hadwin Stephenson murmured, “Everything’s alright now that you’re awake. Lina, I was so scared of losing you.”

“Silly pie, I wouldn’t have let you marry another woman and let my daughter call another woman ‘Mom’. Even if I’m in a coma, I’ll try my best to wake up! How could I leave you when you’re so handsome?” She joked.

He could not help smiling when he heard that. She had always been able to make him relax.

“But no one will say you’re handsome… if you go out looking, like this… Even if I’m in a coma, you should cat well, sleep well, and dress well. How miserable would I be if you collapsed when I woke up?” she continued lecturing him.

“Okay… Okay, I’ll clean myself up, have a good meal, and have a good rest!” he said hurriedly.

She looked at the obvious dark circles under his eyes. “Why don’t you go to sleep now?”

“Now?” Hadwin Stephenson froze.

“Yes, now. My hospital bed is big enough for you to sleep on anyway. Take a nap on this bed. I haven’t slept with my husband for a long time…” she mumbled.

“But… I don’t want to crush you,” he said with hesitation.

“You won’t. You’re a good sleeper. You never move around.” She was the one who moved around. She would often put her hands and legs on him. Sometimes, she would kick theblanket as well as him!

“But I haven’t showered in days. I’m… dirty…” He continued to hesitate.

Lina said, “I don’t mind it! I don’t mind how dirty you are,” she said as tears welled in her eyes.
