From now on, she was his wife, and he was her husband…

“Hadwin, I love you!” Lina said to Hadwin Stephenson as she looked at the marriage license in her hands when they returned to the car.

“What should you call me now?” Hadwin Stephenson asked with a smile.

Lina froze. Then, she came back to her senses and said, “… Darling.” Although she had already accepted him as her husband, she still blushed when that word escaped her mouth.

“Good girl, dear,” said Hadwin Stephenson as he leaned over. He gently raised Lina’s chin with one hand, and his thin lips kissed her on the lips.

“No matter what happens in the future, I’ll give you my everything as long as you call me ‘darling‘,” he said hoarsely. It was as if he could not kiss her enough.

“I can also give you my everything. No matter what happens in the future, we must be honest and not have any misunderstandings, okay?” muttered Lina.

“Okay,” replied Hadwin Stephenson.

In the Sweeney family’s living room, Mr. Sweeney and Mrs. Sweeney looked at the exquisite letter Hadwin Stephenson’s subordinate had brought over. After opening it, they could only see a list inside.

The contents on the list stunned the two honest and ordinary citizens, Mr. Sweeney and Mrs. Sweeney.

The bride price was hundreds of millions of dollars, and there were all sorts of gold items, mansions…

“What are these?”

“They’re the betrothal gifts Mr. Stephenson prepared. If there’s anything else you’d like to add, feel free to tell us,”

they said respectfully.

“Add?” Mr. Sweeney and Mrs. Sweeney looked at each other. There were already so many things that they had nothing to add!

There were so many that they were at a loss.

The next day, Grace accompanied Kyla and Nelson to the hospital to collect the hearing aid.

While Nelson was putting on and adjusting the hearing aid, Grace saw that Kyla was a little distracted as they waited outside.

“Kyla, what’s the matter? Are you worried about Nelson’s hearing aid?” asked Grace.

“Huh?” Kyla came to her senses, shook her head, and said, “No.”

“Then what are you worried about? You look worried,” asked Grace.

Kyla touched her cheek, smiled sadly, and said, “Nothing, it’s just Paisley Daniels is out of prison.”

“She’s out of prison?” Grace froze. Then, she remembered that yesterday was the day Paisley Daniels was released from prison.

With the pressure from the Weiss family, Paisley Daniels did not get a sentence reduction.

Therefore, she got out on the same date as what was initially sentenced to her.

“Why don’t I send someone to protect you and Nelson?” asked Grace.

“No thanks.” Kyla smiled. “Many years have passed, and the Kong family is no longer as glamorous as they used to be. Even if Paisley Daniels hates me, she might not be able to do anything.”

Just then, a voice suddenly rang beside them. “Grace, Kyla, it’s… It’s you guys.”

They looked up in the direction of the voice as it was familiar.

It was Chase, Chase Harper!

Grace froze. She did not expect to run into Chase here.

The once shy and honest man now looked older than his actual age. He was dressed in casual clothes and had some faint gray hair at the temples. He was also holding a cute littlegirl.

“Chase, it’s been so long since we last met,” said Kyla.

Grace said, “Chase, what a coincidence. This child is…”

“Oh, this is my daughter. She’s three,” said Chase Harper before turning to the little girl beside him and saying, “Juliet, this is aunt Cummins and aunt Corbyn. Say hello to them!”

Juliet Harper said politely, “Hello, aunt Cummins. Hello, aunt Corbyn.” She looked so adorable with her cutesy voice and face.

However, the little one’s voice sounded a little nasally, so Grace said, “Does Juliet have a cold?”

“Yeah, she has a small cold, so I brought her to the hospital for a check–up. What about you?” said Chase Harper.

“Nelson lost his hearing aid. We came to the hospital today to collect his new one,” said Grace.

Kyla saw that Juliet’s hair was a little messy, so she crouched down and said to the little one, “Why don’t I fix your hair? Otherwise, it’s going to be all over the place.”

Juliet blinked and nodded. She was not afraid of strangers.

Therefore, Kyla took a small comb from her bag and combed Juliet’s hair.

Grace looked at Chase Harper and said, “Congratulations on getting married. Your child is so big now. It’s a pity that I didn’t get to attend your wedding dinner back then.”

Chase Harper was one of the few people who did not look at her differently when she was at her worst, and he had even helped her before. Grace had always been grateful.

However, as soon as she said that, he unexpectedly chuckled bitterly. “My wife and I are divorced.” It was obvious that he did not want the child to hear that, so he kept his voice low.

“I’m sorry,” said Grace, also slightly embarrassed.

Chase Harper smiled faintly. “It’s nothing. Since we’re not right for each other, it’s better to separate than stay together. It’s better for our child like this than letting her live in a family where there are disputes and quarrels all day long.”

Just then, Kyla was done braiding Juliet Harper’s hair. Juliet Harper skipped over to him and asked, “Daddy, do I look good?”

Guilt could not help flashing across Chase Harper’s eyes as he looked at his daughter’s neatly combed braids. These braids were indeed much better than what he could do.

After the divorce, he had tried his best to be both a father and mother figure for her, but there were some things a grown man with a daughter could not do very well.

“Yes,” said Chase Harper. Then, he turned and said to Kyla, “Thank you.”

“Don’t mention it,” Kyla said with a smile.

Just then, Nelson Corbyn walked out of the nearby consultation room. After seeing Chase Harper, he shouted with some surprise, “Uncle Harto!”

Nelson had not forgotten Uncle Harto, who took him to the amusement park and gave him many toys when he was little. It was just that they had not stayed in touch much after they moved and eventually grew out of touch.

Chase Harper looked at Nelson and could not help saying emotionally, “You’ve grown so much!” Then, he turned and said to his daughter, “This is Brother Nelson I told you about. Come on, say hi.”

“Brother Nelson, my name is Juliet Harper,” Juliet said cutely. She opened her arms to Nelson Corbyn, clearly gesturing for a hug.

Nelson Corbyn did not refuse and picked up Juliet.

A nine–year–old was carrying a three–year–old. Although Nelson Corbyn was considered tall for a child his age, it was a little hard for him to hold a little girl who was 100cm tall.

However, Nelson held her seriously and said to Juliet, “Juliet, hello.”
