Hadwin Stephenson smiled slightly. “You’re the only one who can bully me. Your parents had the foresight to tell you not to bully me…”

When the red light turned green, Hadwin Stephenson continued driving the car while Lina felt her heart beating strongly.

It beat so fast!

She was shy and delighted. She and Hadwin would be happy together.

Lina slept well in Hadwin Stephenson’s mansion that night. She slept through the night and woke up in a daze in the morning. Hadwin Stephenson helped her wash her face and brush her teeth before helping her put on her clothes.

They needed to take registration photos when they registered, so Lina went out of her way last night to get matching outfits for Hadwin Stephenson and herself. They both wore white sweaters with beige pants and white sneakers today.

However, Lina was stunned when Hadwin Stephenson put on the outfit.

He was usually in a suit and tie. It was indescribably refreshing when he wore an outfit like that. Besides, he had always looked young, so he now looked like a young man fresh out of college.

He could even star in an idol drama.

“Why are you in a daze?” Hadwin Stephenson asked as he approached Lina.

“I just think you… look like the male leads in idol dramas,” muttered Lina.

Hadwin Stephenson smiled and raised his hand to gently stroke her cheek. “I’m your own male lead. I only want you to concentrate on me.”

His gaze was like a dense web that she did not want to break free from.

Once they reached tMason Swansonvil Affairs Bureau, the two of them took their queue number and sat on chairs to wait. Lina took a photo of the interior hall of the marriage registry office and sent it to the chat group with Grace, Kyla, and herself.

Lina: [I’m getting my marriage license today.]

Moments later, Grace replied in the WeChat group.

Grace: [??? You’re registering with Hadwin Stephenson today?]

Lina: [Yeah, we’re waiting in line right now!]

Grace: [That’s a happy occasion. Let’s set a date to celebrate it!]

Kyla: [Lina, congratulations! I hope you and Hadwin Stephenson will grow old together!]

Lina: [Thank you. By the way, Kyla, is Nelson’s hearing aid ready?]

Kyla: [The hospital informed us to collect it tomorrow.]

Grace: [Kyla, I’ll go with you tomorrow.]

Lina: [I’m going too.]

Grace: You’re pregnant, so you shouldn’t be going to the hospital so much. I’ll accompany Kyla and Nelson tomorrow.]

Lina: [Then I’ll book a private room in a restaurant and we can have a meal together. Consider it a celebration of my marriage!]

Grace: [Sure. Kyla, are you okay with that?]

Kyla: [Yes, let’s celebrate Lina’s marriage tomorrow!]

After the chat ended, Kyla smiled. Lina had found happiness, and she was happy for her.

She used to think Lina was in the same situation as she was in the past. When Lina and Hadwin Stephenson broke up, she was heartbroken and sorry for Lina. It was great that it ended this way.

“What’s the matter? Did something good happen?” asked Mrs. Corbyn as she looked at her daughter.

Kyla smiled. “Lina and Hadwin Stephenson went to register their marriage today.”

“Lina is lucky to meet a man like Hadwin Stephenson,” said Mrs. Corbyn. She once heard Grace say Hadwin Stephenson only broke up with Lina to save her, not for power and wealth.

“Yes, she’s a lucky woman, and she’ll continue being lucky,” said Kyla.

Mrs. Corbyn hesitated and said, “The matchmaker in the neighborhood asked me if I wanted to find you a boyfriend. again. She has some nice men she’d like to introduce you to.”

“Mom, didn’t I say that I don’t want to find a boyfriend? I want to stay with Nelson and raise him until he’s an adult,”

said Kyla.

“But you’re alone without a partner. I’m worried,” said Mrs. Corbyn. She was getting older and had no idea how many years she had left to live. Nelson was young, and her daughter was only in her 30s but did not even have a boyfriend. How could she not worry?

Kyla pressed her lips together. She knew what her mother was worried about, but… “Mom, I’ll save enough money for my retirement. Nelson is also a filial kid. He’ll take care of me when I’m old, so you have nothing to worry about.‘

“Kyla, tell me the truth. Do you… still have feelings for Martin Weiss? Is he the reason you can’t move on?” asked Mrs. Corbyn.

Kyla was silent. Martin Weiss was like an indelible mark to her. Though she had no feelings for Marlin Weiss now, she still could not forget him.

After all, he was such a major part of her life. He was even the one who crushed her ability to love someone!

She could not bring herself to start a new relationship. Once bitten, twice shy!

“Mom, it’s true that I can’t get over what happened in the past, but I don’t love Martin Weiss anymore. I know that better than anyone. Running a small business like this and being with you and Nelson is the life I want!”

Mrs. Corbyn sighed and said nothing else.

At the marriage registration office, Lina and Hadwin Stephenson–had filled in their registration forms, taken their photos, and were waiting to take their vows. They could only get their marriage license after taking their vows.

However, Lina could sense many people’s eyes on her and Hadwin Stephenson while they waited.

After all, she had a protruding belly, and Hadwin Stephenson was attractive.

Many brides and grooms, who were also waiting to take their vows, would look at them and whisper to each other from time to time.

Lina whispered to Hadwin Stephenson as well, “When the tabloids report our marriage, do you think everyone will say that you were forced to marry me because I’m pregnant?”

Lina meant it as a joke and did not overthink it.

Hadwin Stephenson glanced sideways at her. “That can only mean they don’t know me. I’ve never been the type to have a shotgun marriage. No one can carry my child unless I want them to.”

Lina froze. “Did I get pregnant because…”

Hadwin Stephenson’s eyes darkened. “Since I’m willing to let you do that, I’m ready to have a child with you. I only want children of my and your blood, not anyone else’s!”

He never wanted another woman to bear his children, and no woman could force him into a shotgun marriage.

He wanted to get married because he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.

Lina immediately found her nose feeling a little sore.

When it was their turn to go on the platform to take their vows, Lina said her vows word by word. However, all she heard was Hadwin Stephenson’s melodious voice saying the same vows.

“From this day onward, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part…”
