He approached her again. “Lina, do you hate me that much?”

She turned her head to not look at him. Looking at him would only make her more and more flustered.

It was because even she had no idea what was the best thing to do next!

“If I died one day, would you be sad and regret not being with me in this life?” Hadwin Stephenson asked abruptly.

Lina felt an instant pang in her heart. She instantly turned her head around and asked quickly, “Why would you die? Aren’t you alive and well?”

“Who knows what tomorrow will bring? Maybe there are certain pains and agony that will kill you if you can’t endure it,” he murmured with a self-deprecating smile on his lips.

Just like how she had no idea how much pain he was in when he held her hand. The blood curse on his body made the pain come in waves.

The blood curse on him had not been lifted yet. He still had to undergo two more sessions. He could only get rid of the blood curse after getting through them. If not, he would die.

“What about you? Do you want me to be alive and well?” he asked her in a whisper.

“It’s unnecessary for me to want anything. You now have complete control of Stephenson Group. With so many people protecting you, the Jackson family is no threat to you. If you ever get sick, you can also find the best specialists to treat you,” said Lina.

Hadwin Stephenson still asked persistently, “I’m just asking whether you want me to live?”

Her throat seemed to burn. Lina took a deep breath. “I want your alive and well.” She had never wanted him to die. All she wanted was for them to put the past behind them and live their own lives.

A smile rose from the corners of his lips, and it spread to his eyes.

For a moment, those dark night-like eyes shone like they were dotted with stars.

“Okay. If you want me to live, I’ll live. I’ll stay alive no matter what!”

he said as he wrapped his arms around her and embraced her.

He hugged her hard, even though it only made his pain worse.

She had no idea how much strength her words had given him to keep enduring the pain.

“Lina, wait for me. Give me a little more time,” he muttered.

He would come clean to her after he got rid of the blood curse!

Lina could attend GB’s concert after all. She was in the VIP room where she was not pushed around by a crowd of fans.

Sitting in the private room, she looked at the transparent gla** in front of her. It showed the stage, as well as the many screens that provided the view from different angles. She got to see the concert in all directions, so to speak.

Lina could not help but sigh at the power of money. Even so, she did not enjoy the concert much.

“What’s the matter? Do you dislike it?” asked Hadwin Stephenson.

“I just find it a little weird. I find a concert more fun when you can scream and go crazy with everyone,” said Lina.

“I thought you wanted to see GB’s concert just to see those five guys and nothing else matters as long as you get to see them?” Hadwin Stephenson said lazily.

Lina coughed furiously. “That’s… You can’t say that. I’m not just looking at those men’s faces.”

“What else is there to see?” he asked, raising his eyebrow.

‘Figure!’ Lina said in her head, but she said, “Talent. They sing very well.”

“Really?” asked Hadwin Stephenson.

Just then, there was music on the stage again, but this time, it was an old song that was romantic and slow.

The five members of GB stood in the center of the stage to sing this love song.

Lina did not expect Hadwin Stephenson to sing along when GB began to sing.

Instantly, her attention was drawn to him. She seemed not to hear GB’s voices at all, only his!

Hadwin Stephenson’s voice was a baritone with a melodious tone that was rare among men. It made her feel as though there was a feather gently swaying in her heart.

Lina was still in a daze even when Hadwin Stephenson was done singing the song.

She had no idea Hadwin Stephenson could sing so well. She had heard Hadwin Stephenson sing before, but he had not sung this well back when they were dating.

“Well? Am I talented?” he asked nonchalantly.

“Uh… Sure,” she mumbled to herself a little and asked, “But how can you sing so well?”

“You can be good at singing after some learning,” he said.

“Did you learn to sing? Why?” She seemed surprised. He did not seem to be the sort of person who would do such things.

Hadwin Stephenson looked at Lina. “Would you believe me if I told you I learned to sing so that you could keep your eyes on me a little longer when I saw you again?”

Lina’s heart was in turmoil at that instant!

When Hadwin Stephenson drove her back to her apartment after the concert ended, all she was thinking about was what Hadwin Stephenson had said and the song he sang.

‘Did a man like him learn to sing for… me?’

“You can tell Anthony Sherman about your pregnancy but not your parents?” Hadwin Stephenson’s voice broke the peace in the car.

“Ah!” Lina suddenly came to her senses. “I told Anthony Sherman because I thought I should tell him, lest I stop him from dating other people.”

He looked at her gravely. “You’re very considerate of Anthony Sherman, but what about me? What are you going to tell me?”

Lina hesitated and said, “Hadwin Stephenson, I don’t want to marry just for the sake of the baby. If that’s all there is to marriage, then I’d rather be a single mother like Kyla and raise my child alone!”

After a pause, she took a deep breath. As if she had mustered a great amount of courage, she said, “Besides, I haven’t figured out whether I’m keeping the baby or not.”

If she did keep the baby and give birth to them, he and she would probably be entangled with each other forever.

This child would become the bond between them for life, and perhaps it was the child who would be the most hurt in the end.

Hadwin Stephenson’s eyes grew darker. “In the end, you still don’t believe that I love you, do you?”

She said, “I do, but I also believe that if you ever have to choose between your career and me, you’ll give up on me once more.”

With that said, Lina opened the car door and got down. “By the way, send someone to bring those packages away. I don’t need them.”

Hadwin Stephenson said lightly, “If you don’t want them, just throw them away. Lina, I’ll tell you this one last time. Don’t make any quick decisions. Just give me some time. Just… give me a little more time!”

With that said, Hadwin Stephenson’s car drove away. Lina stood where she was. Her eyes were full of confusion.

‘What does he mean by giving him a little more time?’ She could not understand what he said.

‘Isn’t five years long enough? How much more time does he want?

‘Can a little more time solve our problems? Can we ever go back to the way we used to be?”
