Lina’s expression instantly changed. “No way! If you still have feelings for me, then don’t bother. I won’t get back together with you-”
Right in the middle of her speech, her phone rang, and the caller ID showed that it was Anthony Sherman.
Just as Lina was about to answer it, Hadwin Stephenson suddenly rushed over and grabbed her wrist. Her hand ached, and the phone fell to the floor.
The phone continued to ring.
“Hadwin Stephenson, you-”
His lips rested heavily on hers, cutting off the rest of her speech.
He used his other hand to firmly grab her jaw, not allowing her to struggle. He kissed her hard as though he was putting everything he had into this kiss.
Lina struggled, wanting to turn her head away. She hit him with her other hand but his kiss kept deepening no matter how hard she struggled.
His scent, warmth, and the feeling when he kissed her were so familiar. Lina’s struggle gradually turned into a trance. She could hardly tell the difference between reality and illusion now.
When the kiss was over, he gasped and looked at her with a somewhat pale face. “Are you sure you won’t get back together with me?”
His voice instantly pulled her back to reality.
She glared at the man before her. He was no longer the man who did not allow them to break up once they decided to date and the man who would dote on her unconditionally, chase after celebrities with her, and watch cheesy dramas with her.
This man prioritized his career when she was suffering and needed his company the most.
They never had anything in common.
“Yes, I won’t,” she replied.
There was a grim look in his eyes. “Then who are you going to be with? Anthony Sherman?”
She said, “So what if I am? He’s a good man, and I feel at ease with him. Hadwin Stephenson, since you can marry Katherine Jackson, can’t I be with Anthony Sherman?”
“But you don’t love him. If you did, you would’ve bitten me and became disgusted when I kissed you earlier.”
“Shut up!”
“By the way, does Anthony Sherman know that we were together once? Does he know how you and I had made love together? Does he know-”
“Shut up! Hadwin Stephenson, who are you to say these?!” As she bellowed, a loud slap rang in the room.
Lina only felt her palm aching badly. She could not believe… she actually slapped him.
Hadwin Stephenson’s face was slapped sideways. A moment later, a clear red mark appeared on his cheek.
He slowly turned to look at Lina after some time. However, his eyes had turned lifeless. “You’re right. I don’t have the right… I’m sorry!”
He spoke as he slowly turned around. “Stay here for a few days. I’ll give you an explanation in a few days.”
Hadwin Stephenson left the house, and Lina glared at the people in front of her. They were supposedly here to protect her, but she could not even leave the house.
“Mr. Stephenson has asked you to stay calm, Miss Sweeney. Later, your parents will also be here to take shelter temporarily,” the leader of the men said.
“What? My parents are coming too?” Lina’s eyes widened in surprise. ‘Is Hadwin Stephenson… planning on letting my entire family take shelter?”
Hadwin Stephenson returned to the car, feeling exhausted. He commanded the driver lightly, “Drive.”
Hadwin Stephenson closed his eyes. ‘Don’t I… know better than anyone that I don’t deserve to be with her anymore?
‘But… But I can’t help but think that maybe there’s a chance to change everything. Maybe… Lina can forgive me and give me the time I need!’
He should not have kissed her, but he had impulsively forgotten everything just now. He just wanted to keep that woman for himself and did not want her to think of another man!
He knew he was jealous, terribly jealous!
That was why he did such a thing and said something like that after going out of control.

“He’s not an impulsive person. Since he dared to take Lina away in public today, then he must be prepared,” Jason said meaningfully.
“What do you mean?” Grace asked, puzzled.
“If the one Hadwin Stephenson loves is Lina and he only broke up with her for the Jackson family’s power, do you think someone like Hadwin Stephenson will be content having the Jackson family manipulate him all the time?” asked Jason.
Grace froze. “Is he going to have a falling out with the Jackson family?”
“He’s about to marry the Jackson family. Now that such news has broken out, what he should do is distance himself from Lina, but he did the opposite. Either he has lost his mind, or he’s ready to have a falling out with the Jackson family,” analyzed Jason.
Grace was silent. She thought Hadwin Stephenson would soon marry Katherine Jackson, but things had taken a sudden turn.
“What will happen to Lina?” She cared about this the most.
“Hadwin Stephenson will naturally protect Lina. If he really intends to make a move on the Jackson family, then maybe he’s now protecting Lina so that the Jackson family can’t do anything to Lina. After all, Hadwin Stephenson suffered from this same situation back then,” analyzed Jason.
Grace paused and immediately realized it. ‘That’s right. Didn’t Lina suffer serious injuries because of the Stephenson family’s internal strife when Hadwin Stephenson’s two half-brothers took action against her?”
Although Jason’s analysis made Grace feel slightly relieved, she still called Lina to check on her.

Grace also told Lina about Jason’s analysis.
Lina paused slightly before speaking, “It has nothing to do with me. I’ll think of this as having a few days off for myself. Once this is over, I’ll make it clear to Hadwin Stephenson that he should stop.”
“Are you sure you won’t consider it if he breaks up with Katherine Jackson?” Grace asked hesitantly. After all, she knew how deep Lina’s feelings for Hadwin Stephenson were.
Lina murmured, “No. We’ve never had anything in common, and we want different things. Besides, five years have pa**ed. Many feelings have changed.”
Grace stopped speaking after hearing that. After all, the speculation about Hadwin Stephenson was only from Jay’s analysis.
“If there’s anything I can do for you, just let me know. Lina, I can protect you now!” she said.
Lina’s heart melted at the words. Grace had done everything she could to protect her when she was seriously injured. She was still the same as she was then.
Lina said, “Okay, got it. Grace, it’s nice to have a friend like you!”
Katherine Jackson looked coldly at a video on the phone. It showed Hadwin Stephenson taking Lina away in front of a large crowd of reporters.
The video was only a minute long, but Katherine Jackson had watched it over and over again.
