“Child? Didn’t I already give them to you? One to the Reed family, and one to your wife,” said Secretary Wang.

“You know which child I mean!” Jason’s voice grew colder. “Grace had triplets. We only have two. Where’s the other one?”

“It’s good enough that two of the triplets survived. Young master Reed, do you expect all three to have survived?” Secretary Wang laughed mockingly.

Grace stumbled a little. ‘There’s another child. Could they be…

“Is that child still alive or not?” She looked at Secretary Wang with red eyes.

Even if the answer was the last thing in the world she wanted

to hear, as a mother, she needed to know!

However, Secretary Wang did not answer her but only looked at Jason. “It’s been five years. Do you still plan to be with this woman?”

Jason said coldly, “She’s my wife and the mother of my children. It’s a matter of course for me to be with her.”

“Do you love her?” Secretary Wang asked again.

Jason said, “What does it matter whether I love her or not? Why should I tell you? I can spare you if you tell me where the child is. Otherwise, you’ll spend the rest of your life behind bars!”

Secretary Wang did not care what would happen to him. He only said, “You’re the head of the Reed family. You shouldn’t fall in love with anyone so that you won’t have any weaknesses. Old Master was afraid you’d ruin the Reed family if you had a weakness.”

Jason walked over and grabbed Secretary Wang’s collar. With a sneer, he said, “Even if I have no weakness, I can still ruin the Reed family. What’s the matter? Are you still going to be Old Master’s loyal lapdog after all these years?”

“Old Master was kind to me. Even though he’s pa**ed away, I’m willing to be his dog!” replied Secretary Wang.

“So what on earth happened? Why did you bring Mick back after Grace disappeared? What did you do when Grace left the Reed family? Did Old Master tell you to do all these too?”

Jason asked sharply.

Looking at Jason, Secretary Wang knew he must be saying all this because he had not recovered all the memories he lost after the hypnosis.

If he had recovered his memory, he would not be asking that.

As for Grace? Since she could return to the Reed family, she must have recovered some of her memories. Even if she had not recovered all of them, Terrence and the rest would probably have explained it to her.

‘But she probably didn’t tell Young master Reed about her falling into the sea. Is she scared that Young master Reed won’t be able to take it after he finds out?’

Secretary Wang had always been insightful. He had pretty much figured it out after just hearing a few words from Jason

After all, he had arranged for Jason’s hypnosis. He was clear that it would probably be too much for him if they forcibly triggered his lost memories.

He had also told Terrence and the rest that they should not mention the incident of Grace falling into the sea unless Jason recalled it himself so as not to trigger him too much. They would only end up ruining things themselves.

“Do you really want to know what I did, Young master Reed?” Secretary Wang smirked playfully.

Grace shuddered and instantly shouted, “No!”

Both Jason and Secretary Wang immediately turned to look at her. However, Jason’s eyes were full of confusion while Secretary Wang seemed to be well-aware.

Stunned, Grace hesitated a little before saying, “I’m just scared that he’ll deliberately make something up to deceive you!”

“If you’re worried that’ll I make something up, why ask me then?” Secretary Wang looked at Grace mockingly.

 Grace’s hands that were by her sides clenched the hem of her skirt. She hated Secretary Wang but also did not understand him. Since she was rescued, it was most likely Secretary Wang who had saved her.

Why did he save her even though he was supposed to be following the old master’s orders to get rid of her?

“If you let two of the children live, you would’ve let the other little one live too, wouldn’t you?” Grace choked up as she said, “Secretary Wang, you aren’t such a cold-blooded person. Since you were benevolent back then, please tell me the whereabouts of the child. Whatever that has happened, we’ll let bygones be bygones if you just tell us!”

She just wanted her family to reunite safely!

However, Secretary Wang was unmoved by Grace’s plea. “Let bygones be bygones? I’ll give the child to the Reed family, but you must never show up in front of Young master Reed. Will you agree to that?”

As soon as he said that, Grace’s expression changed and Jason immediately pressed Secretary Wang against the wall. “Shut up! If you dare say such a thing again, I’ll kill you!”

“Are you scared, Young master Reed? Are you scared that the woman beside you will agree to my request and disappear before you for the sake of the child?” Secretary Wang asked with a smile.

Jason’s face became utterly pale, and he was trembling so much that even his hands shook while they pressed on Secretary Wang.

Yes, he was scared! Even though he cared about the child, he cared more about Grace! If Grace disappeared from his world again, he could hardly imagine how he was going to live.

Jason turned his head almost with difficulty to look at the woman standing two steps away from him. She was equally pale with something glinting in those almond-shaped eyes.

“Grace, don’t… say yes. Even if he says nothing, I’ll… I’ll find out where that child is. Don’t say yes no matter what, okay… Okay? I beg you…”

His handsome face was full of fear and unease. That fragile beauty deeply pricked Grace’s heart.

She had promised herself to never let him show that look of fear and pain again.

His tears made her flustered and anxious. She only wanted him to stop crying so he could stop feeling sad, hurt, scared, and uneasy.

Jason let go of Secretary Wang and took Grace’s hand. “Are you really not going to disappear? You won’t leave me?”

“No, I won’t!” she said with great certainty.

Secretary Wang sneered again.

Grace turned her head and looked at him. “When I returned to Emerald City, I promised Jay that I’ll never leave him again, so I can’t agree to your condition.””

Secretary Wang’s eyes were full of sarcasm, but what Grace said next made his expression change.

What she said was… “But I won’t become Jay’s weakness. I’ll become his support and helping hand. I’ll never be his weakness and let people use me to threaten him.”

“What makes you so sure you won’t be a weakness?” Secretary Wang looked like he had just heard a funny joke.

“Because if there ever comes a time when someone uses me to threaten him, then I’ll kill myself,” she said. It was what she did back then, and things had not changed.

She loved him more than her own life. If she faced the same situation again, she thought she would make the same choice as back then.

Secretary Wang seemed to look at Grace with some shock. Every word the woman said was so powerful. There was an unmatched determination in her eyes.
