Lina thought about it and ordered some relatively cheap dishes. Anthony Sherman’s thoughtful eyes flickered for a moment, but he did not say anything and ordered a few more dishes.

“Miss Sweeney, why did you agree to go on blind dates? Do you think you have to marry someone because it’s time?” asked Anthony Sherman.

“It’s not that I have to marry someone. After all, it’s not like you can’t live without marriage, but… I don’t want my family to worry and think there’s something wrong with me. Won’t it be nice if I actually meet the right person on a blind date?” said Lina.

Anthony Sherman muttered, “Really? Then we’re in the same boat. I don’t want my family to worry too.”

“That’s good. We’re really similar,” said Lina.

Anthony Sherman smiled.

They had a good chat during the meal. Although they were in different fields, they could find common topics to talk about.

For example, the two of them had similar tastes in TV shows. They enjoyed those cheesy romance dramas. In particular, they had been watching the same TV show recently.

“Do you think… it’s strange for a man to enjoy watching these romance dramas?” Anthony Sherman asked, sounding as though he was a little embarra**ed about it.

“What’s so strange about that? Many romance dramas are written by men,” said Lina.

‘Captivate your heart… That feeling is very rare!’ Lina could relate to that. It was just like how she fangirled after celebrities and liked many of them, but Hadwin Stephenson was the only one who captivated her heart.

Since then, she had never met another person who could captivate her heart.

“That’s true. It’s difficult to meet someone who can captivate your heart. It’s even harder to meet another one if you’ve already met one,” said Lina.

Anthony Sherman was slightly startled. “It seems you’ve met one.”

“Yes, I met one,” she said honestly. Although the person in front of her was her blind date, she thought of him as a friend after they began chatting.

“Oh? What was he like?” Anthony Sherman asked with some curiosity.

“He’s a handsome man. He’s handsome, well-behaved, and obedient.” There was a slight curve on the corners of Lina’s lips when she talked about Hadwin Stephenson.

Even after breaking up, she only wanted to remember the best memories of him.

Perhaps it was because Anthony Sherman was approachable, or she was affected by Hadwin Stephenson’s visit to Emerald City, so she needed to find someone to talk to.

Lina even ordered a bottle of wine. She talked as she drank.

Anthony Sherman listened quietly. A while later, he stopped Lina’s hand once he saw that she had drunk a little too much. “Stop drinking. You’ll get drunk if you continue drinking.”

“It’s not bad to be drunk,” mumbled Lina.

“It’s not too appropriate to get drunk in front of a man you just met, right? Aren’t you afraid that I’ll do something bad?” asked Anthony Sherman.

Lina smiled. “You wouldn’t have said that if you wanted to do something bad.”

However, she stopped drinking. After all, if she were drunk, she would probably have to explain it to her parents tomorrow after she got home.

When Anthony Sherman was about to pay the bill, Lina insisted on going Dutch. “We’re not boyfriend and girlfriend yet. We don’t even know if the blind date is successful. There’s no reason for you to foot the bill.”

“Men should pay,” said Anthony Sherman.

“But there’s no law that states that. If you’re my boyfriend, then I’ll be okay with you paying. Otherwise, it’s better to go Dutch first.”

Anthony Sherman said, “Aren’t you afraid that we can never be a couple? Are we supposed to go Dutch whenever we come out for dinner?”

“We can treat each other to dinner if we become friends,” said Lina.

‘Friends?’ Anthony Sherman’s eyes sparkled. He did not reject Lina’s offer to go Dutch anymore.

Anthony Sherman wanted to drive Lina home once they got out of the restaurant. “You’re drunk and can’t drive.”

Lina thought so too and said, “Sorry for the trouble.”

“Wait here for me. I’ll get the car,” said Anthony Sherman.

 “Okay,” answered Lina. When Anthony Sherman went to the parking lot, she stood on the side of the road. The night wind made her a little uncomfortable. She suddenly ran to the trash can nearby and threw up.

She threw up for a long time before she was almost done. Dazed, she tried to reach into her bag for a tissue.

However, she could not find it anywhere even after rummaging for a long time.

Just then, a hand holding a handkerchief appeared in front of her.

“Thank… you.” Lina said her thanks with a drunken slur. Without thinking much, she took the handkerchief and wiped the corners of her mouth. She only realized that it was a handkerchief and not a tissue when she was done wiping.

“Why… Why don’t I give it back to you after I wash it…?” she asked as she looked up.

She thought it was Anthony Sherman who handed her the handkerchief, but only then did she realize it was not!

 What she saw was a face that was once so familiar to her. She had seen it in her dreams from time to time over the past five years.

It had been five years. Her memory of his face was from five years ago. She only saw what he looked like now after searching for his news today.

Lina looked at the man in front of her who was in a suit and tie. He had his hair slicked back, revealing his full forehead. It made his beautiful face look more defined.

The years had been kind to him that she hardly saw any traces of age in him.

Her hiccups broke the silence. “Long… Long time no see…” She had meant to say it in a calm tone but was tongue-tied after drinking wine.

“You drank too much,” he said as he narrowed his eyes.

“I… I did drink a bit too much.” She tried to open her eyes wide as if trying to get a better look at the man.

“Is that man just now… your boyfriend?” Hadwin Stephenson asked after a moment’s hesitation.

“Boyfriend?” Lina suddenly chuckled. As she was drunk, her chuckle sounded a little silly. “I’m on a… blind date, but he’s pretty nice. Although… we just met for the first time today, we… hit it off.”

Lina stammered as she slowly got up, looking at him in a daze.

She had tried so hard to get over him, so why was he showing up in front of her and destroying her peace?

“You met this man for the first time today? Do you have any idea how dangerous it is to get drunk in front of a man you met for the first time?” Hadwin Stephenson said somewhat angrily.

He was mad that she got drunk easily in front of another man. He was even madder that she… seemed to have affections for that man.

Lina murmured, “Dangerous? No, he’s a good man, and I’ll be fine. Hadwin Stephenson, I… I’ve gotten over you, so don’t worry. Even if you’re in… Emerald City, I won’t bother you. I won’t… I won’t ruin your relationship with your girlfriend.”

Hadwin Stephenson’s face was cold. Each word she said stung him like a needle.

He had come to Emerald City and drove near her office, hoping to get a glimpse of her from afar.

He told himself that he would only take a glimpse. He only wanted a glimpse.

However, he followed her to the downtown plaza in his car and watched her enter a restaurant with a man. Then, he could not help appearing in front of her when he saw her throwing up due to her drunken state.
