Before the kid could reply, Grace said, “She thinks that ‘Jasper Reed’ is much more difficult to write compared to ‘Jaylee Cummins’. She’d agree to change her name to ‘Jay Reed’ immediately if we offered the option to her!”

“.” Lina wanted to laugh. Her goddaughter was reluctant to change her name simply because it was more difficult to write?

The characters that made up ‘Jasper Reed’ were truly quite difficult to write for a child, though.

Their food arrived. The girl went to the playground area inside the restaurant as soon as she was done with her food. This was a children’s restaurant, so quite a lot of playing areas had been set up for children.

Jasper was near their table where the adults could see her, so Grace and Lina continued eating, though their gazes would often wander to where she was.

“Are you taking Jasper to meet Jason later?” Lina asked.

“Yes. I’m going to Reed Residence,” Grace said. She had called Jason a few times after she regained her memories. For the first number she called, the phone was turned off, and the second number was completely useless. Maybe strangers could never reach Jason through phone calls, Grace guessed.

This was why she decided to take her daughter to Reed Residence directly.

“But Jason…. He’s different from before. After the Reed family told him that you died, I saw him twice and I got the feeling that he’s a little different from before. He’s unusually cold. I thought that it’s because of your death.”

Lina laughed self-deprecatingly. “And then I never saw him again. Mick Reed as well. I learned of the kindergarten he attends after much trouble and I saw him a few times from afar. There are men from the Reed family in charge of escorting him to and from school, so I can’t really approach him.”

What she did not tell Grace was that she had approached Mick Reed once, but when she tried to say something to him, she was blocked by the Reed family’s bodyguards as though they were worried that she would say something she should not.

Hearing that, Grace knew that her friend was worried that she would be put in an embarra**ing situation when she visited Reed Residence. She said, “Sorry.”

“What are you talking about? What are you sorry for? It’s so great that you’re back now, but… Between the two children with Jason now, only Mick Reed is yours. There’s another girl named Oriel Lynch, she’s an adopted daughter. Her mother’s name is Irene Lynch. Rumor says that she’s close with Jason. You’ll have to stand up against that woman.”

Lina had to tell her friend everything she could. She knew that the rumors were just rumors, but they were so vividly spoken about that she could not help but worry.

Author’s Words: Honestly, speaking from the heart, I actually like the name Jaylee more because it symbolizes Grace’s longing for Jason. But now that she’s found her dad, I think it’s best to honor the fate of the characters in the story. So, I’ve decided to have her go back to being called Jasper and become the proper young lady of the Reed family~

“I know, I saw it on the news,” Grace said. She bit her lip. “If Jay has really given away all his love to that person and has no more feelings for me, I won’t pester him any longer. But… if the person Jay loves is still me, I won’t leave him!”

Everyone had thought that she was dead. It was perfectly reasonable for Jay to fall in love with someone else or remarry.

However, she inexplicably had this feeling that her Jay would be like her. His heart would never beat for someone else other than her.

During the past few years when she lost all her memories, she had encountered a few outstanding men who were attracted to her, but she had never felt anything for them.

It was only after her memories gradually came back that she realized her heart had been completely given away to a man named Jason. With that, she no longer had anything she could give.

“Right, how about you? Do you have a partner now?” Grace changed the topic.

“Me? Not yet! I’m still single in old age. My mother’s pestering me about this all the time.” Lina shrugged with a smile that was tinged with bitterness.

In the past few years, she would try not to think about Hadwin Stephenson, but the man would always appear in her head briefly. Maybe it was because she had been too happy during her relationship with the man. Now, she did not have the urge to fall in love no matter what kind of men she met. She had gone on blind dates, but they always fizzled out.

“Have you still not let go of him?” Grace looked at her good friend, feeling sorry for her.

“I’m trying hard.” Lina smiled. “If I really can’t, I’ll just be single my whole life. It’s not that scary. I have your two children to send me off when I die, anyway.”

Lina paused abruptly after saying that. She turned to Grace with an apologetic look.

Grace looked dejected for a while.

Two children… She had given birth to triplets, but at last…

Jason had one child with him, and she had one with her as well. Then… where was the remaining one?

Where was the remaining child? Was the Reed family secretly hiding them? Perhaps…

At this moment, Jasper let out a shout of alarm. Grace became alert. She looked in her daughter’s direction, only to see her fighting with another girl.

“Jasper!” Grace surged forward hurriedly, wanting to pull her daughter away. However, before she could approach them, another woman had gone over and shoved Jasper away roughly.

The girl failed to reorient herself and ended up falling down. Luckily, there were cushions beneath her and nothing big happened.

Grace ran to her daughter and helped her up.

Lina followed suit. She said, looking full of worry, “Are you okay?”

Jasper shook her head, and her almond-shaped eyes were watery. “Mommy, Daddy’s photos are torn. She tried to take them from me.”

It was only then when Grace discovered that her daughter was holding half of the candid photo of Jason that she had bought at a high price!

As for the one who tried to take it away… She looked up, and what a coincidence! They were the Lynch mother-and-daughter duo Lina had told her about just now!

Author’s Words: Honestly, speaking from the heart, I actually like the name Jaylee more because it symbolizes Grace’s longing for Jason. But now that she’s found her dad, I think it’s best to honor the fate of the characters in the story. So,

I’ve decided to have her go back to being called Jasper and become the proper young lady of the Reed family~

The person who pushed her daughter away was Irene Lynch, and the little girl holding the other half of the photo was Oriel Lynch, the adopted daughter of the Reed family. Grace had seen photos of this pair of mother and daughter on the internet.

Before Grace could speak, Irene Lynch harrumphed coldly. “Daddy? How are you educating your child that she’s calling someone else’s father that? Can your child even measure up to him? Quickly, have your daughter say sorry to my daughter! She hurt my daughter! Do you know who my daughter is?” Irene Lynch said arrogantly. She would not have come to a restaurant like this if her daughter had not wanted to visit it after having seen it on TV.

To her, a restaurant for the commoners such as this one was beneath her and her daughter.

Unexpectedly, her daughter had a conflict with someone else and the reason for it was the photo of Jason that had fallen out from the other girl’s pocket. The girl also repeatedly claimed that it was a photo of her daddy.

Daddy? Irene Lynch looked at the mother and daughter who were dressed commonly with a look of disdain.

Jason had only one daughter, which was Oriel Lynch. He would only become Oriel Lynch’s daddy in the future.

Hearing that, Grace glared at Irene Lynch coldly. “I know who your daughter is, of course. The adopted daughter of the Reed family, right? I don’t need you to tell me if my daughter can measure up to Jason.”

There were children present, after all. Grace did not want to say overly acerbic words.

However, Irene Lynch was triggered by what she said about Oriel Lynch’s status as an ‘adopted daughter. She hated it when other people said that her daughter was only adopted. Those people who sucked up to her tended to mince their words, calling her daughter the little young lady of the Reed family instead.

“You don’t need me to tell you? I think you’re delusional! You just want to marry into a rich family! You’re so shameless! You found this photo somewhere and got your daughter to call him ‘Daddy’ What, do you want to be the mistress of the Reed family? Just look at you!”

The Reed family had destroyed all photos of Grace, so naturally, the photos of Grace had also been taken down from the internet.

    Wooow!!
Is this like a movie of season 1, 2, 3 and 4? Cus this is long!!!!! Why must they extend the story like this? Oh, well..
Chinese drama actors won’t be able to film this, because it will be more than 40 episodes, so maybe another country will collaborate with the author and make a movie / drama / seasonal one with this book..
Well done author, you must have used years to write this before releasing it.
