Filed To Story: The Scarlet Vengeance: Justice of a Framed Beauty Novel (Grace & Jason)
Jason was the man in her dreams, the man she was married to and who loved her!
Although she had been plagued with amnesia for the past few years while living in L City, she had heard of Jason and knew of Reed group. Jason rarely showed his face in the media, though. There were only a few photos of him that showed his face.
She had bought those photos her daughter was looking through right now online at a high price.
Thanks to Jason’s good looks, there were people on the internet who appreciated his looks greatly. They would acquire photos of him, which were obviously taken without permission, and sell them at a high price online. Only people who appreciated Jason’s looks as much as them would buy the photos!
Although Grace remembered Jason and some events in the past, she failed to remember the rest of them.
Maybe she would finally remember everything when she saw Jason for real.
“Mommy, did you really get married to Daddy? You didn’t give birth to me before marriage, did you?” the young girl asked suddenly.
Pfft!
Grace spewed all the water she had not managed to swallow and accidentally got some on her daughter too.
The child’s face scrunched up.
“Sorry! I didn’t do that on purpose,” Grace apologized. She hurriedly wiped the water off her daughter before saying, “Mommy and Daddy were really married. We gave birth to you after we got married! I promise.”
The girl muttered, “But I don’t look like Daddy at all. Will he want me?”
“Who said you don’t look like him? You see… Uh…” Grace tried hard to look for similarities between her daughter and Jason, but to be honest, their daughter looked more like her. “Uh, your eyebrows are similar.” She finally picked a feature of her daughter’s that was similar to Jason’s.
The girl was not satisfied. She wrinkled her pretty brows and suddenly said, “If Daddy doesn’t want me, then I don’t want him too. Can we go home if that happens?”
“Why do you think that he won’t want you?” Grace asked as she found it odd.
“Because he hasn’t tried to find us even after so long. He only likes my older brother, doesn’t he?”
“No. There must be a reason why he hasn’t come,” Grace said, “He’ll definitely like you when he sees you.”
As for the reason why Jay had not come looking for her… He probably thought she was dead.
She had searched for related news on the internet. Her identity on the internet was Jason’s ‘deceased wife’
When the train arrived in Emerald City, Grace held her daughter’s hand as they exited the carriage. When they reached the exit, she saw the silhouette of someone she used to be familiar with in the past. The person was waiting anxiously at the exit.
It was… Lina!
Grace’s eyes reddened instantly. She had forgotten about Lina in the past few years. It was after she recovered her memories when she finally re-established contact with Lina.
Grace still remembered how Lina had been completely in disbelief when she called her. The two of them had a video call afterward, and only after that did Lina believe that she was still alive.
“Lina!” At this moment, Grace shouted. When Lina heard her, she turned toward Grace and her eyes immediately reddened.
When Grace and her daughter walked over and stood in front of Lina, she was already in tears.
“You really… You really are still alive! I knew that you wouldn’t have died so easily! I knew it!” Lina hugged Grace tightly and shouted in between sobs.
Grace hugged her good friend back. Her eyes were also red. “Sorry, I’ve made you worry these past few years.”
“Oh, this is Jaylee, isn’t she?” Lina sobbed. She looked at the young girl beside Grace. She resembled Grace, but there was a little of Jason in her as well.
Lina had seen this kid before during previous video calls, but this was the first time they were meeting face to face.
“Godmother!” Jaylee said cutely, her soft voice softening Lina’s heart.
Lina squatted on the floor, raising her hand to pinch the kid’s soft cheek. How nice. It turned out that… more than one of Grace’s children had survived.
“This is not a good place to talk. Let’s leave first,” Grace said.
Only then did Lina come back to her senses. She said quickly, “Yes, yes, let’s continue this somewhere else.” God knew she had too many words she wanted to say. There were so many things that they had not managed to say during their video calls!
The three of them left the train station. Lina drove. She took Grace and her daughter to a children’s restaurant. They ordered food.
“Right, what’s Jaylee’s full name?” Lina asked. She knew that Grace’s daughter was named Jaylee after their video call.
She had paused for a while the first time she heard that name. She did not expect Grace to use ‘Jay’ in her daughter’s name.
Jason. Jay. Jaylee.
Even though Grace had lost her memories, she was still naturally attuned to the man’s name.
“Jaylee Cummins.”
“Jasper Reed.”
Both mother and daughter said at the same time. After that, Grace looked at her daughter. “Didn’t Mommy tell you that you have to change your name? It should be Jasper now.”
Author’s Words: Honestly, speaking from the heart, I actually like the name Jaylee more because it symbolizes Grace’s longing for Jason. But now that she’s found her dad, I think it’s best to honor the fate of the characters in the story. So, I’ve decided to have her go back to being called Jasper and become the proper young lady of the Reed family~
“But I like Jaylee Cummins more. Mommy, can’t we go with Jaylee Cummins?” the kid begged, her face scrunching up.
“Your elder brother’s name is Mick Reed, and so you’ll be Jasper Reed. Isn’t this nice? Other people will know that you’re siblings after hearing your names. Haven’t you always wanted an elder brother?” Grace asked.
“Can’t we have my elder brother rename himself as Mick Cummins instead?” the girl asked, tilting her head.
“Maybe you can ask him when you meet him,” Grace said.
“Okay!” Jaylee raised her chin, looking determined.
Lina laughed at her goddaughter’s antics. “Do you like the name Jaylee Cummins that much?”
“Yes, I do!” The kid nodded.
“Why? Because you’re used to it? Or do you not want to change your name?” Lina guessed.
