“Is Grace really dead?” Terrence glared at Secretary Wang and asked.

Secretary Wang raised his brows. “If not, whose ashes are those?”

Terrence held onto his breath. “Then… the triplets in her tummy…”

“Didn’t I just mention it? He should consider himself lucky that one of them managed to stay alive,” said Secretary Wang.

Terrence was completely mad at Secretary Wang. “You must be satisfied now, right? When Young master Reed wakes up, he might even end up being crazy! Did Old master Reed want you to make his biological grandson go crazy and have the entire Reed family destroyed?”

“No, Old master Reed only hopes that Young master Reed, as the head of the Reed family, will not have any weaknesses. If you don’t wish for Young master Reed to wake up a crazy person, then just follow my orders,” said Secretary Wang with a carefree look.

At a grand banquet where all the big shots of Emerald City had gathered, it was only natural that Jason, the chairman of Reed group, was the one gaining all the attention.

He was not even 33 years old, yet he had already taken charge of the great Reed family. Despite already having a son and an adopted daughter, there were still many prestigious ladies who wanted to seek his attention and be the madam of the Reed family.

In all the banquets that Jason attended, the prestigious ladies of the Emerald City would try all means to attend them as well. However, none of them managed to get any closer to him.

He could not bring himself to believe that Grace would just die like that.

However, in the end, he only saw an urn and Jason, who was like a crazy man.

“Why is Grace dead?”

“Yeah, why is she dead? It… should’ve been me who’s dead!” With a teary face, Jason replied with a smile, “I’m the one who should be dead… I should die… but why did she still want me to keep living?! Doesn’t she have any idea that it’s torture for me to live without her?”

“Why didn’t you tell me that you’ve returned? If I hadn’t attended this banquet, I wouldn’t have known that you’ve returned,” Patrick muttered in dissatisfaction.

“Don’t you know it now?” Brian said faintly. His gaze then swept over to Jason. “I heard that he… adopted a daughter? He’s also very close to his adopted daughter’s mother?”

Even though Brian had been overseas for the past few years, he was still aware of all the news regarding Jason.

He knew that Jason adopted a daughter two years ago. Hence, that adopted daughter, along with her mother, instantly led brand new lives.

There were a few people making a speculation. ‘Jason already has a son, there’s no need for him to adopt a daughter. Chances are, he has his eyes on that adopted daughter’s mother. She’s a single mother. He’s using the excuse of adopting that girl to get close to her mother!

To Brian, such speculation was rather hilarious.

Given Jason’s personality, if he had really taken a liking to that woman, he would not have used such a roundabout method. Besides, if that woman was willing to have her daughter be the adopted daughter of the Reed family, it would mean that she did not find Jason unpleasant.

‘Or perhaps, that woman is thinking of becoming the madam of the Reed family?
